Llegamos a Cabo Verde justo el día de Nochebuena tras una semana de navegación desde Canarias. Listos para celebrar el éxito de nuestras primeras 1.000 millas de travesía! Aunque llegamos cansados al amanecer el día de Nochebuena a Cabo Verde preparamos un buena cena toda la tripulación de Nomadas del Mar para celebrar el inicio de las fiestas. En este vídeo también recorremos Mindelo, la ciudad donde recalamos de las isla de San Vicente, ultima recalada antes del cruce definitivo del oceano Atlántico. Una ciudad llena de colores, mercados, buena gente... Un episodio especial en tierra dedicado a todos los familiares que nos ayudaron y apoyaron a que este sueño se hiciera realidad, también muchas gracias por los regalos. NOMADAS en AFRICA! Pescamos un MAHI MAHI (dorado) gigante camino a Cabo Verde/ Cruce Atlántico Ep. 8
Recta final de la primera etapa del cruce del Atlántico Canarias - Cabo Verde. Tras una semana de travesía tocamos tierra, esta vez Cabo Verde, perteneciente a Africa para pasar las Navidades. Como visteis en el episodio anterior nos quedamos sin motor y sien viento, tras varias horas conseguimos arreglarlo desatascando de manguera de alimentación del motor y purgando el sistema. Volvemos a rumbo y tras unas horas por fin aparecen los vientos alisios. Como celebración después del día con problemas del motor lo celebramos con pan y tarta casera, al igual que nos visitan los delfines. Conseguimos ir a vela lo que resta de travesia hasta Cabo Verde empujados de suaves vientos de popa, y a su vez comienza el festín de pesca. Tras varios días de poca pesca nos entran varios Mahis Mahis (dorados) gigantes. Tras rellenar nevera y congelador hasta arriba decidimos no pescar más en lo que resta de travesía. De esta manera afrontamos los últimos días para recalar en Cabo Verde, con ya el viento establecido, mucha pesca y listos para celebrar las Navidades en Mindelo... Continuamos la travesía Canarias-Cabo Verde de 1.000 millas sin viento durante días. El mar está tan plano que nos bañamos en medio del oceano, a 3.000 metros de profundidad y sin tierra a mucha distancia. Aquí podeis ver las rutinas que llevamos mientras navegamos, las diferentes configuraciones de velas, la pesca, los animales que nos visitan y los primeros problemas que van surgiendo... Durante más de dos dias vamos a motor cuando de repente se nos apaga, al no haber nada de viento quedamos a la deriva buscando la causa de la parada y las posibles soluciones. En medio del oceano toca ser autosuficiente y solucionar cualquier problema uno mismo, trabajando en equipo comenzamos a buscar soluciones para continuar con la travesia. Tras infinitos preparativos en Canarias previos al cruce del Atlántico, llegó el momento, partimos con rumbo al Caribe para cruzar el Atlántico. Abandonamos Madeira para poner rumbo a las últimas islas por visitar del archipiélago. Cruzamos de Madeira a Islas Desiertas en una travesia de medio día hasta estas islas sin habitantes, como su propio nombre indica. En la travesía tenemos vientos en contra y nos acompañan delfines. Al llegar a Islas Desiertas nos viene a visitar una foca de estas islas, donde vice una colonia. Los siguientes días nos los pasamos explorando estas islas volcánicas y increíble fauna marina, un espectáculo. Después de un par de días decidimos poner rumbo a Canarias para finalizar la primera etapa del viaje, Valencia-Canarias, una travesía de dos días en la que celebramos el cumpleaños del padre de Álvaro. Así llegamos a Lanzarote, donde pasaremos los proximos dos meses preparando el gran reto, el cruce del Átlantico. Un vídeo con imágenes impresionantes de la vida marina de este lugar recóndito, navegadas intensas y un cumpleaños abordo en pleno océano.

Llegamos a Porto Santo para conocerla en moto y posteriormente visitamos la isla principal, Madeira. Una isla llena de cascadas, acantilados, jungla y muy buena gente, un destino TOP. Participamos en un campeonato de pesca en Madeira. Travesía Cabo de Gata- Madeira, una semana de navegación cruzando el Estrecho de Gibraltar, llegando por primera vez a bordo de Nómadas del Mar al Océano Atlántico y llegando al archipiélago de Madeira. Nos encontramos varias pateras argelinas de camino y narcolanchas en el Estrecho de Gibraltar. Sacamos nuestra vela preferida, el Gennaker, en el Atlántico y recalamos en Porto Santo, la isla de Madeira al noreste. Casi 1000 millas de navegación recorridas durante una semana, pasando por uno de los puntos más dificiles de navegación del mundo que es el Estrecho, el lugar con más tráfico marítimo del planeta. Comprobamos que la zona del mar de alborán, Cabo de Gata al Estrecho, está llena de pateras y narcolanchas, España ha perdido el control. Esperemos que os guste el segundo episodio.
