#TrawlAboard everyone! Welcome to Slip Away, a twin engine Selene 53 owned by Tom and Pat. We filmed this episode during the Selene East Coast Rendezvous in Baltimore, MD which was held in September 2025. This is the nineteenth episode in our TrawlAboard series – a collection of trawler tours filmed on the docks at events around the country. The boats shown in this series are NOT represented for sale by JMYS. We are grateful to our friends and clients who invited us to film and show you each trawler as if you were on board during the event for your own personal tour. Thank you for watching and sharing your encouragement, thumbs up and comments. We hope to continue with other trawler brands and models at various locations as time and opportunity allow. We made it to San Juan, Puerto Rico 🇵🇷 and things got interesting fast! From sneaking through fences for food to flying kites at the fort, exploring Old San Juan, and watching Dune 2 with Spanish subtitles — it was a wild few days. After some provisioning (and discovering our A/C was broken ), we had an unexpected encounter with a tanker that forced us to move anchor in the dark. Then it was off to Culebra — jeep rides, beach views, and pizza to end it all. It wasn’t the smoothest stop, but definitely one to remember! Watch to see how we handled it all!⸻ 📍 Places We Visited: 🇵🇷 San Juan, Puerto Rico 🍝 Olive Garden 🍿 Distrito T-Mobile 🏰 Castillo San Felipe del Morro (El Morro Fort) 🎏 Old San Juan (kite flying tradition!) 🛒 Walmart ⛵️ Culebra, Puerto Rico ⚓️ Southern Anchorage 🏖 Flamenco Beach 🚙 Jeep Island Tour 🍕 Local Pizza Spot Next Stop: 🇻🇮The Virgin Islands
Today, we dive into uncovering the truth of our Kelsall 57 inboard motors. Installed brand new, never run and a gamble we're not yet sure was worth taking. There's an entire protocol required to get both of these motors running again - but today we're starting with the cosmetics, and jobs that we have a basic understanding of. Before our diesel mechanic mate comes to give us a hand with the resuscitation, we're trying our hand at the diesel work and getting to know our new (old) motors as best we can.
Mark departs Bermuda on May 30, 2025 on his modified Cape Dory 36 Swan on the second leg of his planned Atlantic circle cruise. For auxiliary propulsion he is using a tilt-up 6kw electric outboard in a custom built well in the lazarette locker. Since it has very limited range he rarely uses it on passage - on this leg only to depart and enter harbor. The next leg will be his passage from Azores to Morocco. For more videos on preparing his boat for this voyage, check out the Cape Dory 36 Refit Playlist on this channel. There’s truly no better way to explore Greece and upskill at the same time. 🇬🇷 This is Findlay — a young Kiwi who joined us this year to complete his RYA Competent Crew course. It was his first time sailing… and just look at him now. Confident, capable, and completely at home on the water. With expert guidance from our friendly instructors, Findlay learned everything needed to become a reliable crew member — from hoisting sails and mooring lines to chart work and safety drills. But more than that, he found his sea legs, new friends, and a deep love for life afloat. What made it unforgettable? The setting. Learning to sail while gliding past sun-drenched coastlines, anchoring for lunch in turquoise bays, and discovering hidden gems like Paxos Island — a place he hadn’t even heard of before — was nothing short of magic. Whether you’re looking for a new challenge, a hands-on holiday, or the first step into the sailing world, our RYA courses are the perfect place to start. Learn new skills, explore the Greek Islands, and build confidence at sea — just like Findlay did. ⚓️ #SailingHolidays #LearnToSail #RYACompetentCrew #SailingCoursesGreece #GreekIslands #SailingLife #TravelWithPurpose #SailingAdventure
World on Water Oct 17.25 18 Footer Carnage, Jasmine in Mini Globe, TF35, Skiffs, Sailing Illustrated
Please Subscribe if you like our Global Sailing content, Like and Share. It helps us show our content to more sailors. Thank you. This is your weekly Global Sailing Highlights show, the World on Water, for October 17th, 2025. It was an unfortunate opening to the Australian 18 Footers League's 2025-26 summer season when strong westerly winds, gusting to more than 30 knots, forced the club to abandon Race 1 of the Sixth Spring 18ft skiff Championship on Sydney Harbour. Eleven of the fourteen teams entered for the race attempted to reach the start in the dreadful conditions that prevailed and only three were able to cross the start line after a 30 minutes delay. After being becalmed on Monday, Jasmine Harrison’s week in the Mini Globe Race turned into pure endurance at sea. A long, sleepless night brought relentless squalls, freezing cold, and then, disaster, her Hydrovane self-steering broke. To make it worse, Starlink went down for 48 hours, cutting her off from weather updates and the outside world. Then with advice from Hydrovane support, and spare parts on board, she’s now back on track, the wind’s picked up, and Starlink’s back online. In Stage 2: Y C P E Cup the Home boat heroes arrive, They’re home is the cry! It’s been a tough fight for the crew, but the achievement of crossing the Atlantic Ocean is what matters most. Talk about a close finish! What an end to a race after 27 days at sea. Hear from Team Qingdao, Team Washington D C, and Team Scotland, as they touch down in Punta del Este! After two days of strong Bise winds and fiercely contested racing for the high-performance foiling TF35 fleet, and the final in Geneva offered a complete contrast, four technical races sailed in a gentle 5 to 8 knot breezes. Returning to the circuit after a break earlier in the season, Jérôme Clerc, at the helm of Realteam Spirit with crew members Sébastien Col, Gurvan Bontemps, Léo Tetaz, Eliot Merceron, and Benjamin Amiot, showed remarkable consistency across the 14 races to claim the Grand Prix victory with a narrow two-point margin. The 2025 49er, 49erFX, and Nacra 17 World Championships wrapped up in spectacular style with a double-race medal series that crowned three deserving world champions. Under brilliant Sardinian skies and a lively mistral breeze, Spain swept the skiff fleets while Britain claimed the foiling crown. It all came down to last day, and what a finale it was! In the Nacra 17 class, John Gimson & Anna Burnet edged out home hopes Ugolini & Giubilei in a tactical duel to claim the world title. The bi weekly, live, Sailing blog, Sailing Illustrated, helmed by "The Chairman," Tom Ehman interviewed Sail World New Zealand expert Richard Gladwell, on the latest developments in the 38th Americas Cup. If the cup interests you, then you will want to watch this.

► Full test in Multihulls World N°207. ► This new model is making a clean sweep of the range, eclipsing the Astrea 42 and Elba 45. More focused on comfort than its predecessors, the FP44 is particularly convivial, putting the emphasis on relaxation areas - a 100-square foot (9.2 m²) forward sunlounger, a 115-sq ft (10.7 m²) lounge deck on the flybridge and an additional lounger in the cockpit. This choice appears to have been welcomed by both charter companies and private owners, with delivery dates now running into March 2027... While the shipyard has remained faithful to its dual helm/maneuvering station, a superb Tesla-style control screen is now available. Inside, the FP44 features wide forward openings, but notably sees the return of the island unit - this had deserted the nacelle of the Saona 47, which became the Tanna 47. The 44 was designed from the outset to be available in a hybrid-electric version. In this green spirit, this catamaran can be fitted with 2,300 Wp of solar panels, not only on the coachroof, but also on the aft of the bimini and the trampolines. ► TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS: Builder: Fountaine Pajot Architects: Berret-Racoupeau Yacht Design Length overall: 43’6” (13.26 m) Beam: 24’5” (7.44 m) Draft: 4’6” (1.38 m) Displacement: 33,500lbs (15.2 t) Mainsail: 840 sq ft (78 m²) Genoa: 484 sq ft (45 m²) Motors: 2 x 30 or 2 x 57 HP or hybrid Fuel: 18 US gal (700 l) Water: 158.5 US gal (600 l) Price: 507 500 € ex VAT (2025) ► Become a FREE SUBSCRIBER to Multihulls World's YouTube page now - https://www.youtube.com/c/MultihullsWorld ► Log on to our website to discover over 600 multihulls tests! This luxury 15- meter sailing yacht reveals an aft cockpit that guarantees instinctive, safe and convivial sailing. A new feature is a second cockpit with sunbathing areas forward on the yacht, offering unrivalled comfort both under way and at anchor. With the Dufour 48, the shipyard is continuing to innovate, again and again. The DNA of the Dufour brand has been preserved to offer owners the performance and comfort they deserve. The teams’ extensive know-how and experience promise a robust, efficient yacht for all types of boating. Depending on which version of the Dufour 48 sailboat you choose, all the furniture has been optimised to ensure unrivalled comfort. If you choose the forward or lateral galley, there is always plenty of storage space provided. Dedicated interior saloon tables have been created by interior designer Ardizio Design. These are optimised for the three- and four-cabin versions. In the cabins, blackout blinds are integrated directly into the ceiling. So, despite the brightness of the boat, you won’t be disturbed by the very first rays of daybreak. The Dufour 48 luxury yacht has been designed for enjoying the fresh air on the ocean. Life on board is comfortable at all times, both below deck and outside. The aft cockpit has been redesigned to offer significant space. When under way, moving around on board is simple and natural. Two tables provide a splendid spot for enjoying meals or simply relaxing at anchor. What would a Dufour be without its aft platform? Once again equipped with a plancha grill, it comes with a host of new features. It’s a genuine outdoor galley, equipped with all the essentials. To complete the layout, the Dufour 48 has a second cockpit, this time, forward. Here, a sun lounger can be installed for unforgettable moments of relaxation at anchor or under way. The design of the Dufour 48 sailboat has been redrawn by naval architect Umberto Felci of Felci Yachts Design. The lines are fluid and the boat offers a great amount of volume. The usual coachroof glazing has been redesigned as longitudinal windows with integrated opening hatches. Already a focal point aboard previous models of the Dufour 48, light is once again a major feature. The coachroof’s full-length windows provide constant light, which is diffused throughout the interior saloon and galley. When the mattresses from the sun loungers are removed from the forward cockpit, large windows are revealed, letting in even more light to the yacht’s interior. ⛵️ We continue our sailing on the East Coast of Sweden and we use PredictWind Professional for our route planning. In this episode, we begin in Borgholm on the beautiful island of Öland. We explore the town, visit the ruins of Borgholm Castle, and take a bike ride through the meadows — and have a look at traditional Swedish Midsummer food. Then it’s time to plan our next passage. We show how we use PredictWind to check weather, routing, and local wind patterns before setting sail. We cast off, set the sails, and continue south — ending by sailing under the impressive Öland Bridge, which was Europe’s longest bridge when it was built in 1972, connecting the island to the mainland. During the sailing season we are filming lots, but editing we save for rainy days or winter downtime—so episodes will come out a bit less regularly. 📸 For real-time updates, follow us on Instagram: @bushpointsailing ⚓️ Thanks for watching! ⛵️ Welcome aboard Bushpoint Sailing! Precision under pressure, it’s the day after infusion day for the Dazcat 1500. Join Dan and Brendan as they take you through the products, techniques, and final checks that make this stage one of the most critical in composite boatbuilding. From selecting the right resins, core materials, and reinforcement fabrics to managing vacuum integrity, flow media layout, and resin feed lines, they break down the details that ensure a flawless infusion. Watch as preparation, precision, and experience come together to create a strong, lightweight, high-performance hull.
Infusing the boat in a vacuum-sealed bag is one of the most critical and precise stages of the composite build process. This timelapse takes you behind the scenes as we prepare the mould for infusion, a stage that determines the strength, weight, and finish of the final structure. You’ll see how we lay down multiple layers of reinforcement, peel ply, flow media, and resin feed lines before sealing the entire mould under vacuum. Every joint, tape, and fitting is carefully checked for leaks to ensure a perfect vacuum draw. The goal is even resin distribution and complete fibre wet-out resulting in a strong, lightweight laminate with minimal voids. This is where craftsmanship meets engineering combining advanced materials, careful planning, and years of experience to deliver a flawless infusion. Watch the next in the series to hear from Brendan (Director and Projects Manager) and Dan (Workshop Manager) how this is achieved.
