We had a leak in our forward two keel bolt holes, and it was time to fix it! The yard successfully got the mast pulled and the keel off. Neither wanted to come off the boat, but I'm thankful they were able to get both off without...unintended damage. Now time to put it back together even better than new.

Barcelona has been serving up truly momentous weather conditions for the past month and today was just another day at the world's most perfect office. Alinghi Red Bull Racing and INEOS Britannia lit the after-burners on a memorable session in a Garbi sea-breeze that peaked just above 20 knots and a fairly choppy sea state that called for accuracy. Both teams looked sublime in the conditions, releasing the awesome power of their current generation AC75s and made sailing look not only easy but thoroughly enjoyable – a great advert for the sport. It was the sort of conditions that make racing sailors salivate: 18 knots true with 24 knots gusts, blue skies, temperate airs, a moderate chop but for both NYYC American Magic and Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli it was a stop/start kind of day with technical issues on both boats as the top end conditions bit. Il progetto svela un grande studio dell’aerodinamica sullo scafo di Luna Rossa, uno studio ed evoluzione dei foil e della loro ingegnerizzazione meccatronica. Anche se Luna Rossa è stata varata con i Foil con i quali Prada Pirelli Team ha affrontato l’ultima finale di Coppa America contro i Neozelandesi ad Auckland, i progettisti svelano la nuova versione delle appendici T Foil di Luna Rossa, composte da bulletto centrale, due wing dritte e due tips all’estremità delle wing che miglioreranno le turbolenze del flusso idrodinamico durante il volo. One of the remarkable factors that courses through the entire Emirates Team New Zealand squad from the very top to the bottom is honesty - and it's a remarkable, refreshing factor in the Louis Vuitton 37th America's Cup. Today out training on the ‘Back Paddock’ in Auckland, the Youth Team who were one-boat training on their AC40 over-cooked it on the exit of a gybe, lost the rudder and then had what can only be described as an epic pitch-pole and resultant capsize. “Anyone who ever thought Barcelona wasn’t a beautiful venue for sailing has obviously been proved wrong recently, you know 12 knots building to 17-19 knots at the end of the day, pretty flat water, I mean what more can you ask for with all four challengers out that are here currently out on the water, and you know it's getting pretty busy here pretty quickly.” The wise words of NYYC American Magic trimmer, Riley Gibbs, who summed up the most pitch-perfect day in Barcelona, in the most eloquent fashion. And he wasn’t wrong, this was perfection for the AC75s (and two AC40s out on the water), with slightly less choppy conditions than we’ve seen of late in the venue for the Louis Vuitton 37thAmerica’s Cup and a glorious building breeze that allowed plenty of jib cross-over ranges to be evaluated as the wind increased.
