So I went straight from the airport to the hostel. I was very tired so I fell asleep as soon as I reached the hostel. My stay in Dushanbe was 20 hours. But even in this short time, I got a great opportunity to be invited to a food festival by the Pakistani embassy. Different countries participated in this food festival and presented their dishes. It was a great festival that I enjoyed with friends. That night I had a flight to Pakistan so I came to Pakistan via Dubai. And so, thank God, my journey ended peacefully. Would have liked to spend another day or two in the Dry Tortugas, but alas the weather gods do abide sailors' wishes. As it was I had about 24 hours to return to civilization before the next cold front. While the cold front was not forecast to be particularly severe, it was to usher in nearly a week of fresh to strong easterlies, which would make a return to the much more sheltered Newfound Harbor far more difficult, as it lay nearly 80 miles east of the Dry Tortugas.
