Paul and Sheryl sail into the historic harbour of Mahon, on the island of Menorca, said by the British Admiral Nelson to be the safest harbour in the Mediterranean. They moor at a unique floating platform called Isla Clementina anchored in the middle of the harbour where they are welcomed into a community of international cruising sailors. The Shards crawl through ancient natural tunnels in the cliffs to visit Neolithic cave-dwellings, Megalithic tombs and later explore sites where an unidentified culture has built huge standing stones and towers.

My buddy Bill Wells asked if I would go to the top of the mast to try and fix or to retrieve the masthead wind vane as the display had stopped working or worked intermittently during our last race. Onboard Bill's S/V Wahzoo (1985 Santana 30/30) our other friend Neil Fletcher is on hand to assist before we head out for a daysail on his yacht. We might want to file this under "Slow TV" but I really enjoy watching these sorts of videos that others have made so I thought I would put it up. A day sail onboard S/V Anduril with light winds and temperatures in the 70's we were greeted by a few pods of a Pacific White Sided Dolphins. Anduril is a 1969 Islander Excalibur 26 designed by William Crealock. This was my first time aboard Anduril and I am a huge fan of classic plastic so I was stoked. Its always cool to see the details unique to each boat. The skipper is my friend Neil Fletcher who recently purchased a beautiful 1966 Allied Seabreeze 35 named Arcturus that he will be sailing throughout the Stockholm archipelago this summer and further a field in the coming years. We sail from Los Roques to Bonaire, stopping at a tiny bunch of islands called Aves. I’ve never seen so many birds in my whole life! We get salty for a few days and checkout some of Bonaires many dive sites that it has to offer. We throw on some scuba gear and go and checkout the wreck of the 'Hilma Hooker'. She lies in approximately 100 feet (30 m) of water and at 240 feet in length and is quite a site to see! Seal Beach Yacht Club Saturday Sailors Series - 2016 Race #3 - February 6, 2016

Today’s Australian 18 Footer League’s President’s Trophy race was the final hit out for all teams prior to the start next Saturday of the 2016 JJ Giltinan 18ft Skiff Championship on Sydney Harbour and it also solved a problem for the Lumix team which was in need of a skipper for the regatta.

After Komodo, the BPO participants sailed to Medana Bay Marina on Lombok. Great welcome at the marina with welcoming dinner of local dishes. Participants did some touring and shopping in the area as well as went to visit Bali by ferry. The day before departure, the marina had a great show of local music and dancing from North Lombok followed by another nice buffet of local foods. Thanks to the management and staff of Medana Bay Marina and thanks again to s/v Chapter Two for hosting me during the sailing passage and for the use of their GoPro cameras! Filmed in November 2015 without any support from local tourism office!

Completing the physical part of the eagle project, we landscaped the the flower bed or garden for the front entry, cleaned the grounds, and applied weed killer for the cracks in the cement. This will make the housing a more uplifting/inviting facility for the women that call this place home. I would welcome when boy scouts, or other groups look for a project to benefit the community, they follow in the foot steps of my son that is growing into a great man. I also want to give a special thanks to Home Dept who heavily discounted the material, and donated the equipment to make this project possible at all. Their sense of community and eagerness to help our youth will remain in my memory for a lifetime.

Ep 5 - BVI Bareboat Charter 2015 Starting at "The Dogs", we sail under fair winds to Leverick Bay and Drake's Anchorage on the east side of Gorda Sound. Next morning, we opt for a quick reach out to Anegada Island, this time with strong wind on the beam. Anegada is different from most of the other islands in that it's a sand spit on top of a reef rather than the volcanic stone common to the rest of the BVI chain. The entire island is ringed with reefs and random coral heads, and as such it's not a trip without risk.
