Warning for some bloody footage in this episode but it's not too bad. We left Grenada with Privateer, a Nautor Swan 60, to sail in St. Vincent and the Grenadines. We had some really awesome sailing up to Union Island and we sailed over the underwater volcano Kick'em Jenny. Chatham Bay was a lovely place and anchorage but little did we know that the plans would change drastic when Malin got a 10 kg heavy hatch that fell on her big toe. We are a Swedish couple who wanted a different kind of life. So we moved aboard our sailboat RAN, a custom built aluminium Beason 40, and untied the lines in the middle of the Swedish winter and started to sail south along the coast of Europe. There is no set route and we will go where the wind and our minds takes us. The day starts the collision alarm goes off. Sailing back across the Bay of Biscay, but will it be kinder to me this time? Lee Knapton, Ricky Bridge and Mike McKensey, Smeg, won a close battle for the first race of the Australian Championship in a 10knot easterly. The fleet got off to a slow start after two general recalls with the outgoing tide pushing them over the line. It was third time lucky as the U flag enticed the 18 boat fleet to stay behind the line. Smeg won the pin end and tacked over to cross the fleet.

Well we are in the last week of the greatest race around the world and the distance between first and second is 4 hours or 100 miles. The A's have it.... Armel is leading Alex and at the time of writing this Alex (second) is on thesame heading doing the same speed 22 knots. It's going to be a breath taking finish after 28,000 miles. Meanwhile back at Cape Horn Kiwi conrad Colman is feeling lonely and laments that he hasn't seen anyone since he left Les Sables? Conrad, you're sailing around the world mate not travesing the London underground. Not everybody sails around the world over summer!
