Another week exploring Mallorca with Sally on board. We find a bay called Sa Calabra which is absolutely out of this world beautiful with high cliffs, a tiny beach and clear blue sea so we ‘chillaxed’ on anchor, cooked on the bbq and drank g&t’s. Heaven. We decided we wanted to head for Corsica via Minorca and as Sally was still on school holidays she stayed for the trip and helped out on night watch with Hayley. Then they slept thru most of their day watches... luckily I always have it covered. 🙂 On route to Corsica we actually changed our minds and sailed to Sardinia but that’s the beauty of living at sea... we are free to go wherever the wind blows. She is hand made in steel, 2004, with a round bilge (hull) and a modified coach roof. This makes her a ‘one off’ and in my opinion the most beautiful Van De Stadt 36 ever built. The camera gear: Main camera is a Panasonic Hc-v700. Most shots are done with an external mic (Shenggu sg 108) with a sponge and dead kitten attached. Action stuff and small blogging is done with a Sony Hdr-as30v. Underwater video Gopro3plus. Editing: Final cut pro on a Macbook. Most of the material for each video is filmed over a period of several weeks or so and the editing of each episode is normally done over a day. This process can take longer if original music is used or permissions are needed for copyrighted materials etc. Much time is spent sorting out technical problems. In this case I normally get the help of a younger person who understands computerie stuff! There are also times when filming, editing and uploading is not possible due to being at sea or in locations with no internet access. Content: I have found that filming and releasing material over a period of time is better than doing ‘vlog’ style videos and trying to make episodes out of whats happened in a week, regardless if it’s good content or not. By filming over a period of time I can be more selective in what goes into each video. My aim is to avoid ‘blar bar mundane’ and have at least one or two exciting and interesting events in every video. Every video has to be entertaining. Von Bonaire nach Mexiko. 1200 Meilen quer durch die Karibik. Wir, Joachim und Sabine, die Crew der Atanga, wir sind am 01. Juni 2014 in Hamburg gestartet. 2015: Kanarischen Inseln 2016: Kapverdische Inseln, im Februar 2016 unsere Atlantik-Überquerung nach Französisch Guyana. Dann kleine Antillen und noch einmal die Guyanas und Suriname mit der Nereid’s Rally. 2017: ABC-Inseln (nur BC), Mexiko und Belize. In Mexiko haben wir eine dreiwöchige Rundreise im Landesinneren unternommen. Im Anschluss kamen Providencia und Kolumbien Festland (ebenfalls mit einer dreiwöchigen Rundreise) und die San Blas Inseln in Panama. 2018: Wir wurden im Januar in Panama vom Blitz getroffen. Die Reparatur dauerte drei Monate. Nach der Passage durch den Panama Kanal haben wir den Rest des Jahres in Ecuador verbracht und fünf Wochen das Landesinnere erkundet. 2019: Osterinsel, Gambier, Tuamotu und Gesellschaftsinseln. 2020: Die Corona-Krise hat uns in Gambier (Franz. Polynesien) erwischt. Wir werden sehen, wohin der Wind uns treibt und wie weit wir kommen.

Depois de dias maravilhosos em Exumas nosso tempo acabou e já era hora de voltar para a Florida. Partimos de Exumas e fomos direto para Bimini sem paradas, foram quase 250 milhas navegadas. Em Bimini encontramos minha irmã e minha mãe (Luciano) pois elas iriam voltar para a Florida de veleiro com a gente. Ficamos apenas um dia em Bimini mas foi bem legal.
