Sailboat shopping in Las Palmas, Gran Canaria and Athens, Greece. Video footage from July-August 2017 I went to Las Palmas to see "Elma af Norrtälje" - a 55 foot one off extended Swedish built sailboat with all the features we could ask for, but I came to the conclusion that the boat was too big and not easily handled single handed. I flew to Athens. Greece to see the Ferretti Altura 422 from 1984. This motorboat like sailboat had a cool design and some interesting features as well, but the lack of storage and the compressed spaces didn't really make it a good live aboard. La cittadina di Tropea con la chiesa di Santa Maria dell'isola; La Pietraia, luogo dove anticamente si realizzavano manufatti in pietra e dove adesso è possibile trovare la grotta dello scheletro; La baia di Formicoli , a circa 250 metri a largo si possono ammirare i resti dell'antico porto le calette di Capo Vaticano , ci si arriva dal mare in questo magico luogo ove un tempo i naviganti di passaggi si fermavano per chiedere i vaticinium; La baia di Grotticelle con il suo mare verde smeraldo popolato da migliaia di Occhiate; Baia di Riaci dove è possibile nuotare attraverso insenature e grotte; Sant'Irene è il tratto di mare dove scoprire l'antica peschiera Romana; Capo Cozzo scogliere naturali e mare trasparente; infine Capodogli e delfini in mare aperto.

La caleta du réveillon. Après une semaine de navigation sous la pluie, la caleta Cinco Estrellas a accueilli Sir Ernst le soir du 31 décembre. Par chance, le lendemain nous avons eu droit à une matinée de beau temps sans vent. Nous avons étés émerveillés par la beauté du paysage entourant cette caleta. En saison, (hiver austral) elle sert de refuge aux pêcheurs qui viennent y stocker leur casiers à "centollas" (crabe royal de Patagonie).

Idra is well protected, except when the wind changes and comes directly through the tiny gap in the quay. But what are the chances?Quite good I guess! We happened to have the worst night ever in Idra. All night with fenders face to face with the captains next to us and rescuing other charter boats that didn't have enough chain out, but, don't let that put you off visiting this amazing town. We are the Robbins family sailing on our boat named Nikau. We are a family of 5. Our 3 kids are doing NZ correspondence school on board. They are growing to love it! What's not to love about 3 hours of school a day and then a different playground for the afternoon every day! We've traveled from New Zealand to Sardinia in Italy to pick up our boat and we plan over a few seasons to sail her back to New Zealand. We hope you enjoy following us on our adventures!
