Le 9 mai, ils ont pu prendre le départ de la Bermudes 1000 race en direction de Cascaïs au portugal. A l'issu de cette course, Manu est arrivé 4ème en solitaire et s'est qualifié pour la prochaine Route du Rhum en novembre prochain.

This week we see some tremendous progress on the fiberglass work on the roof of the coach house. While we had a couple of layers covering it quickly, the work needed to finish up. For 4 days the yard workers sanded, faired, sanded, faired, sanded primed, faired and sanded again. The results are a really good looking surface that is getting very close to getting painted. We also clean up the mizzen step to prepare for the installation of the new mast and mizzen step. There was a little scare as the yard was not able to find the mizzen step. The good news is the aluminum part was down below in the galley and I had the wooden base in my car. I get the mast step prepared for installation in this video. With a cracked wooden hatch frame, I also show how to make a repair out of epoxy resin including coloring the resin with sawdust to get closer to the final color of the finished material. Waiting for our full foiling Nacra to arrive, we spent some time on our old boat. As always the lake Garda was a great sailing venue and we improved a lot. For the first time we also spent some time in the mountains riding our mountain bikes . Great fun if there is the wrong amount of wind. Now the new boat has already arrived and we hope to get some water hours within the next days. New full foiling boat, that means a big challenge for us. There never was a full foiling olympic class before. Foiling itself is relatively new to the sailing world. Big News: In the future we will also produce videos with us in front of the camera. It's been roughly a year since we started video blogging and although in the beginning I hated the idea of being in front of a lens, on social media, I think it was the right decision. While we originally set up the channel for family and friends to follow our journey, the channel has now gained over 1000 subscribers and it's clear that our travels, trials and tribulations are of interest beyond our immediate family and friends, so we're both delighted and humbled that so many of you are sharing in the journey with us. Although it has been a challenge making, editing and publishing videos (mainly Woody!) while on the go AND bringing up a family it's easy to forget the challenges and special moments that made it all happen.
