We moved on to our sailboat this week. We are excited to show our boat off some! WE are living on a Catalina 30 in San Diego!
We are loving living here and know already we want to do this forever!! We never miss a sunset, our home is our playground, and the sea lions and dolphins love to visit! We also head south for a trip to Mexico on land.
After many delays and dramas, we finally got to sit down and finish our final episode. The boat is safely home and on the market and we had the most phenomenal trip back. Thanks to everyone who has watched each and every one of these videos, you have been so supportive. We have been astounded by the number of people that actually enjoyed them. We will worship them for years to come. Thanks to Tim & Willy for helping us bring her back safely on our final leg and every other friend or family member who joined us. I hope you enjoy this one as much as every other one, and until next time, Sailing L'Attitude OUT! BROKER'S REMARKS: "Lose The Shoes" is a well maintained and nicely updated Leopard 40. The model is well regarded as having great sailing characteristics for a cruising catamaran. The owners were preparing for extended cruising but a change of plans forces the sale. Some of the great features include a re-power with 30hp Beta Marine Diesels (370 hrs.), air conditioning installed, like new sails, 4kw digitial radar, AIS, rocna anchor, cockpit cushions, full cockpit enclosure, new trampoline, and 10' Achilles RIB. BUILDERS REMARKS: The Leopard 40's speed on the water and easy handling are its top features, earning it 'Boat of the Year 2005' from Cruising World magazine. This boat has a large cockpit with outside dining area, protected by a functional hard-top bimini. The galley-up design incorporates a spacious saloon and aft facing galley with a cocktail bar and serving window overlooking the cockpit. This Leopard 40 has four double cabins, optional berths in the forepeaks, and two large heads with separate shower stalls.

Here's what I ate to finish off the week without Pat, and then to finish off the month after he finally got home! It's been a rough start to the year. This week was especially rough starting with Pat missing his flight, and it only spiraled down hill from there. Oh well though! We will get past this time and move forward.
I absoultey fell in love with this song from the moment I heard it and I am completely honored that the mega talent Paul Potts is my duet partner. 'Because we Believe' written by Andrea Bocelli has the most beautful sentiment, to believe in ourselves and that anything is possible. I hope you enjoy,..... and let's all believe in ourselves a bit more! Bamba Maru is more than just a 50 year old catamaran, it is home to Andy and Johanna, and a way for them to help others with a project called Sailing for a Smile. They set out 5 years ago with plans to sail the world and found purpose along the way by using their boat as a base to help those in need after devastating hurricanes hit Caribbean islands. We are also pledging to 100% match contributions to their project for the first $1,000. So we'll turn your $1.00 into $2.00!! Just head to https://svdelos.com/beer and in the message to the crew box just mention "Sailing for a Smile". We will coordinate with the local schools and make sure 100% of the donations get there with no overhead and no fees :) . You can find more about their project at https://www.facebook.com/SailingForASmile/
Not many people can go from sailor to Mandingo warrior, but in this episode you will see that one person can. And that is Peixe. A very special individual and friend. We start off from Tarafal de Mont Trige on the island of Santa Antao after a unsuccessful drone rescue mission. The surf is rising and we must lift anchor. Just then the engine won't start. Eventually we manage to get back To Mindelo where Peixe invites us to come to a Mandingo Parade. What is this? You must tune in and watch. Hello Friends, This is the FINAL episode (Part 4) of the custom stove enclosure build out and installation! On this episode we nail down all the teak trim and get the enclosure to the boat. Once back at the boat we get the enclosure in place in the galley and get it all screwed down in place, the Origo 3000 alcohol stove set in and even take it for a test drive (imagine a fire emoji right here)! Thanks so much to Camille for helping me with this project and letting me take over your studio for a few weeks! We will be putting this new stove and oven to good use next month with a dive trip to Avalon dive park on Catalina Island. Next weeks episode will be the first of 3 episodes of mine and Camille's trip to Santa Barbara Island and then on to the backside of Catalina for a 6 day trip we did last summer! Thanks for watching! SUBSCRIBE and hit the bell for weekly videos! http://www.youtube.com/c/MJSailing?sub_confirmation=1 In the heart of Furnas São Miguel is the Parque Terra Nostra with iron rich thermal springs, which give it a nice coffee color. Would you take a dip in this milk chocolate goodness? Back at the boat Matt is hard at work installing our new Autonnic wind sensor, since we have been without wind information on Elements. Matt goes over our new wireless anemometer and how it will be able to communicate with the other electronics on our boat. Then, it's time for more touring as we have a rental car at our fingertips! Our first stop was a set of botanical gardens that have been using their springs for wellness since the late 18th century. I even get in the coffee like waters to ease my muscles and find that it is an incredibly relaxing spot to be. Then we head off to lunch where Matt enjoys a meal of meats and potatoes cooked by the heat of the earth. Day two has us giving Georgie a tour of the island, and finding all the green and grassy patches that appeal to her. We get lost in mountain mists and even take a look at the lighthouse on the far east side of the island. From what we're learning, Sao Miguel could need months to be able to properly explore it.
