Here is the second film from the series “The Folks of the Ocean”. Umadum on his way to Cape Town in dangerous Mozambique channel. Why it is so dangerous? Why they call it shipwrecking coast, wild coast? It’s dangerous because of the weather. Because of unexpected weather changes. Because of southwest storms blowing over the strong Agulhas current. Because of big breaking waves which broke even big freighters. Des Cason, OCC Award recipient, explains in this film how to avoid this dangers and sail this coast safely and easy. Watch this film and you’ll know: How to sail South African Coast? How to read weather maps? How to read grib files? You can contact Des Cason via email sygambit(at)gmail.com Stay safe, Tali and Guenther Follow us for more travel stories and live your dream: https://youtube.com/UmadumSailing We’re a Russian-Austrian couple, live aboard sailors/cruisers and professional filmmakers with a genuine love for life. Many people say to visit Vancouver because it’s the most beautiful city in the world. While it’s definitely beautiful there’s something Vancouver has to offer that I enjoy even more than the stunning scenery. The Sushi. In this episode I share with you a brief history of sushi, what makes Vancouver sushi special and why Vancouver should be on your list of places to visit. Don’t forget to subscribe to catch next week’s episode as I head back to NZ and begin getting the boat ready to sail 6000 miles to Indonesia. My name is Chris and I love history. I’m on a journey around the world with my family on board our sailboat “Family Circus”. Subscribe to my channel and join me on an adventure as I uncover the past of the places, people and things we discover and look at how these influence our lives today. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCe-5... CLICK THE BELL to know when new Videos are up! The core of "Family Circus" is Chris (Dad / Captain), Sayo (Mom / Admiral), Aya (First Officer / Deckhand) and Miya (Baby / Stainless Polisher). After many years in business in Vancouver we were tired of life inside the box and wanted to make a change, we just weren't exactly sure what would be next. In July of 2016, when Sayo was six months pregnant, we decided (somewhat at the last minute) to fly to New Caledonia for one last holiday before the baby was born. On this trip we decided to buy "Family Circus", planned to sail her to New Zealand and started an adventure that has changed our lives. This week on SV Dreamchaser, we let our Inner Redneck out. See how we combined being a sailor and being a redneck into a great way to move a vehicle. I once heard someone tell me on a boat that "Fenders are for fending and bumpers are for bumping." I used this wisdom and my truck to move stuff around. We also prepared the new surface of the Coachhouse wall for the port replacement. For those that have been following our recent adventures, you know that we had a leak on the coachhouse after electing to take the easy way out on a repair (those rarely pay off by the way). I had the boatyard come fiberglass and ultimately make sure the job was done right, but like most work, we shared some of the responsibility. My job was to trim the fiberglass they laid for the port installation. I also had to build up the thickness on the inside of the coachouse wall where the old wood had rotted from all those previous years of a leak. I had removed the rotted wood a year ago and it was finally time to get new wood and epoxy in place and fair it all smooth to get ready for painting. We sail a very short distance from Shroud Cay to Warderick Wells Cay, a large island within the Exuma Cays Land and Sea Park and home to the park's headquarters. We spend several days moored near Emerald Rock, exploring the beautiful island and it’s surroundings. We hike a couple of trails, taking us through mangroves and creeks, to blow holes and of course the top of the famous Boo Boo Hill, the highest point of the island with stunning 360 views. After the neighborhood sharks stop by to say hello we break out the paddle boards for the first time and go for a snorkel around Emerald Rock. We were having some GoPro and mask problems, so we weren't able to capture much. ::FOLLOW US:: Instagram: @sailingsummerfriday Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/sailingsummerfriday/ Website: https://sailingsummerfriday.com ::SAILING SUMMER FRIDAY SWAG:: https://sailingsummerfriday.com/shop-sailing-summer-friday/ Are you down to summer friday? There are over 300 islands in the San Blas archipelago, each one a delight of palm tress, white sandy beaches, amazing coral and friendly local Kuna Indians who have retained their culture, smiles, wooden canoes and crafts for hundreds of years and managed to escape the influences of European exploration. We are the Robbins family sailing on our boat named Nikau. We are a family of 5. Our 3 kids are doing NZ correspondence school on board. They are growing to love it! What's not to love about 3 hours of school a day and then a different playground for the afternoon every day! We've traveled from New Zealand to Sardinia in Italy to pick up our boat and we plan over a few seasons to sail her back to New Zealand. We hope you enjoy following us on our adventures! We would love to hear from you. Especially if you are interested in doing something crazy like we are! Maybe we can help answer some questions you have? Thanks and enjoy.

We took possession of our new (to us) Nordhavn 56 Motorsailer in at the beginning of March, 2019 and it has been a busy month getting ready to leave the docks for the first leg of our transit from Florida to Mexico. We had plans to leave the dock April 2 or the first weather window after that and almost made that date, if Dougal hadn’t realized that his passport expired in May at the last minute. Panama was our intended first stop and the country requires a passport valid for 6 months after entry. Our canal agent said that he would have likely been asked to leave or deported so we had to expedite a passport renewal. Luckily, we were able to get one (for $$$) by the morning of April 3 and left the docks for Panama that morning. In this episode we show some of the long list of chores that we had to get the boat ready to leave for Panama including: * Replacing CQR anchor with Ultra UA60 * Fueling the boat * Sail Repair/Prep * Cleaning rust and painting main engine air intake * Repairing and reinstalling dinghy lift winch * Replace washing machine drain pump * Replace having port on transom * Provisioning We did get the boat all ready to leave and after arrival of Dougal’s new passport on April 3, we left the docks and got underway for passage to Panama. We all appreciate your comments and try to respond to as many as possible. Erdmann Rauer (CEO, LSG Group) and Francesco Del Porto (Chief Customer Officer, Barilla Group) signed a supply and cooperation agreement at the World Travel Catering Expo (WTCE), which will gradually extend the collaboration between their two companies through the year 2023. This long-term partnership will focus on Barilla pasta ready meals that will be sold exclusively through Evertaste, the LSG Group’s expert brand for packaged products. The packaging and taste of the meals have been adapted according to the special requirements of flight operations, so that they can be offered to passengers on flights with onboard retail, for example. By following the enclosed instructions, the pre-cooked pasta can be served al dente. With the oven now fixed, Magnus experiments with a new bread making recipe and technique for making bread. It’s very successful! We see the largest pod of dolphins that we have ever seen. There must have been over 100 in the pod! We observe the local fishing techniques with the use of pangas, spinning and drumming! The alternator gets its new brushes fitted, but the bearings will have to wait until another day. Thanks for watching and following along with our adventure. I know, I know, we promised an episode a week and failed after only a few weeks! This was not Hayley’s fault tho. She’s had an issue with trying to export the finished episode from iMovie and it turns out there was 1 dodgy frame somewhere that was making it fail. It took us forever to find it! This editing business is NOT easy! Hats off to those who manage it every week but we’ll continue to keep trying. This week we continue exploring the BVI and luckily Ben from AquaFrolic has just done his diving qualification so I've someone to go play underwater with. The RMS Rhone was a British mail ship that was sunk by a hurricane in 1867 and is possibly the most famous dive wreck in ythe BVI so I really wanted to dive it. Luckily, Benny was pretty keen for me to take him on his first dive after getting his ticket so I had a buddy. We sailed the 2 cats up to Salt Island and picked up a free mooring ball right on top of the wreck in Lee Bay. These days I get all my enjoyment in the water from seeing others enjoy themselves so I loved this dive with Ben's eyes as big as dinner plates. From Salt Island we sail to Jost Van Dyke Island and found ourselves a lovely anchorage in behind 2 reefs in White Bay. This is a major party spot with lots of day tourists from the other BVI and USVI drinking in the well renouned Soggy Dollar Bar or even Foxy's next door. We've spent most of our Caribbean adventure (and indeed our Atlantic crossing) with the crew of AquaFrolic so it was a sad goodbye but it's time for us to move onto the next place. Our plan was to head to the USVI which being American means we can book our interview with the USA immigration to get a visa for when we finally arrive by boat in Miami. As usual though, Hurricane Irma had a different plan for us and had destroyed the customs office. Turks and Caicos here we come! Thanks for following our adventure, we make these vids for you guys so please don’t forget to leave us a comment and a thumbs up. We turn to the northeast from Boca Grande Key, back toward Marathon, after which we will continue on to Miami. The onslaught of cold fronts ushering in strong northerly winds is making life difficult, resulting in some brisk sailing and forcing me to move my anchor several times to find shelter around Marathon Key. Finally a stretch of tranquil weather allows me to get some practice in with my Phantom 3 drone. WEBSITE: https://www.boothbyboats.com TIP JAR: https://www.paypal.me/KevinBoothby
The Gypsea Fleet is all ready to start sailing South! We are officially checked out of Panama and set sails for Las Perlas to enjoy some island time and boat prep before sailing to Colombia. Karl and his crew are enjoying the wind in the sails and the waves slapping on the hull. It feels so good to be underway again! Follow behind the scenes on Instaslam @svdelos EVER WONDERED HOW TO SINK A BOAT?! And then go scuba diving on it?! It's not very often you get to witness a boat sinking beneath the waves. While in Grenada we were lucky enough to, not only see it, but be part of it! We were onboard up to the last few minutes before the Tyrrel Bay went down. She was cleaned and scuttled specifically to become a dive site and artificial reef. Check out the 360 video version!!! http://svdelos.com/360 This is our story, a story of four souls sailing around the world. It is a story about sailing and travel and adventure. But it's also a story about meeting amazing people and making life long friends. It's a story of people living their lives in an alternate way, in close connection with the beautiful people and amazing planet that we call home. Our experience has affected us so profoundly we want to share it, hoping that others may find inspiration to follow their dreams and do what they love. For more sailing around the World Action! Are you guys ready for a RAN-athon?! We have 2 more videos coming up in the next two days so stay tuned! Over 3 years of full time cruising and a lot of motoring up in Alaska and BC has taken it’s toll on Ran’s engine. We also got a blow-by on one of the injectors in Panama 2017 so there are a few things to deal with. Johan will act as a heart surgeon and tackle the big and scary job of giving Ran’s iron heart a big overhaul! We are a Swedish couple who wanted a different kind of life. So we moved aboard our sailboat Ran, a custom built Beason 40 in aluminium and untied the lines in the middle of the Swedish winter in January 2016. There is no set route and we will go where the wind and our minds take us. In Search of the Bluest Waters in the Bahamas 57 | Beau and Brandy Sailing Goodbye Eluethera! Hello Exumas! We finally head south to explore the beautiful blue waters of the Exumas. We've heard so many good things about the Exumas but first we have to get there. We sail to Cape Eluethera the night before our jump across the Exuma Sound to Norman's Cay. The winds were lighter than expected so the sail was very slow and took a lot longer than expected. It was so calm that Brandy baked some keto style banana bread. We anchored just as the sun was setting and the moon was rising. We rose early the next morning in order to get through Wax Cay Cut during slack tide. We were going so fast that we arrived a few hours early. So we decided to practice our heave to procedures. Then we sailed through the washing machine like cut into the most beautiful, bluest waters in the bahamas. Hope you enjoy! big love, beau, brandy, and our salty dog, oona #caribbeanblue #sailingexumas #normanscay big love, beau, brandy, and our salty dog, oona --------------------------------------------------------------------------- -HELP SUPPORT THE PRODUCTION- Join our Patreon: http://bit.ly/BB-Patreon One time Donation: http://bit.ly/one-time-donation-bb -GRAB YOUR SWAG- https://www.bonfire.com/store/beau-and-brandy-sailing/ -MUSIC- Epidemic Sound is where we find all of our music. 30 day free trail: https://www.epidemicsound.com/referral/mxtzxe/ -LETS BE SOCIAL- Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/beauandbrandy Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/sailingsaoirse -OUR GEAR WE- main camera: https://amzn.to/2lm2bSY go pro camera: https://amzn.to/2JMXRoa backup camera: https://amzn.to/2l8e3ry electric setup*: controller: https://amzn.to/2lm7hP7 panels: https://amzn.to/2jUoONN electric motor: https://amzn.to/2ZnLfvN motor controller: https://amzn.to/3getpSw ____________________________________ *This channel is a participant in the Amazon Affiliate Program.
