In this video, I talk about a cheap fix on an old rusted out truck. Forming a fender with cheap hardware foam. I will do more on this fix later. This is the starting point. Follow along as it takes shape. This will never rust out again. It is common to use foam cores on boats, so why not autos? You can not use any foam as it will react with the resin. But this Great Stuff works well. It can be shaped however you need it to be. I am not sponsored by Great Stuff or Old Timers Epoxy. So far I see good results but yours may not be so good. This is only how I fixed my truck. The way I saw it you can't spoil a rotten egg.

Weltumsegelung | Blauwasser | Langfahrt. Seit einem Monat leben wir unseren Traum. Wir leben auf unserem Segelboot mit dem Plan, die Welt zu umsegeln. Die ersten Wochen waren ganz schön intensiv - wir haben so viel erlebt, dass es sich manchmal anfühlt, als wären mittlerweile Monate vergangen. Jeden Tag lernen wir etwas Neues, fast jeden Tag sind wir an einem neuen Ort und müssen uns neu zurechtfinden. Aber schon jetzt trauen wir uns ein erstes Fazit schließen: Wir lieben es. Trotz bester Vorsätze ist es uns jedoch nicht gelungen, sehr viel dieser ersten Wochen filmisch einzufangen. Wir waren einfach sehr mit uns selbst beschäftigt und hatten kaum eine Hand frei, eine Kamera zu halten. Und falls wir eine Hand frei hatten, dann waren wir zu erschöpft, um zu filmen. Es ist uns auch nicht leicht gefallen, den richtigen Einstieg in unseren Segel-Vlog zu finden. Nach ein paar gescheiterten Versuche uns selbst und unseren Plan von der Weltumsegelung vorzustellen, haben wir beschlossen etwas zu “schummeln” und unser Hochzeitsvideo einzusetzen. Immerhin haben wir uns nur eine Woche vor unserer Auswanderung noch vor Familie und Freunden im “Fritz” am Neusiedlersee das Ja-Wort gegeben und eine unglaublich schöne Hochzeits-/Abschiedfeier gefeiert. Der liebe Robert Grünberger (Greengood Productions - www.greengood.at) hat diesen Tag für uns mit der Kamera eingefangen und uns damit ein unglaublich großes Geschenk bereitet. Hello Friends! On this weeks episode we take you along for a wild ride to Catalina. My little brother, Colby and his Black Lab "Bailey" head off for our first ever sailing trip together. Our plan was to leave Newmarks Marina and have an easy motorsail to Emerald Bay and spend two days diving before returning home. As we motored out of Los Angeles Harbor I noticed the waves were breaking over the breakwater, something I have never seen happen there and it was only the slightest hint at how rough our day was going to be. We had a very very hard passage to Catalina with 4' to 6' waves on the bow all day long and 13+ knots of wind also on our nose. This made for a very miserable day and between the waves and the wind it cause us so much southing and slowed our progress so much that it ended up taking us almost 8 hours to do the passage and forced us into the Isthmus as there was no possible way to make it north to Emerald Bay. Tying up at the Isthmus we enjoyed a full day of diving at a night dive which you will see on next weeks episode! El Nido in the Philippines has a bylaw which forbids all single use plastics (bags, straws, food packaging). Even water bottles were banned on all the tourist day tours. I’d say that’s pretty progressive for a developing country and honestly, much further ahead than, for example, our home town in Canada. That said, currents and tides transport these plastics from far away and inevitably they end up on the windward beaches. Beaches that few see. It’s the sad reality out. Our adventures continued on the west coast of the Philippines where few cruisers anchor partly because of the deep anchorages. 25 to 35 meters was the norm. That’s a lot of chain to pull straight up for the windlass (the electric motor that pulls up the chain). As a result, we found ourselves having to freedive, dive and generally get creative in how we got our anchor back up. BE BRAVE. We met in the summer 2015, we were introduced to each other by the virtual world. Eighteen months later we were getting married on a beautiful beach on Barbados, bare foot, very simple ceremony just like a dream! Two days after the wedding laying on the beach, talking about sailing, Carla suggested... why don't we sail around the world? Guess what Simon said? "Let's do it" He took it with no second thoughts! And here we are, two years after that day in Barbados, we started our adventure in Croatia. We made it happen working through all the challenges on the way. Now we are enjoying this wonderful life, and what a wonderful life it is! As we travel we will cross less fortunate countries, we would love to help to build a school or a health care centre, anything that these people may need, and in our beautiful world this is taken for granted.
