Das Projekt mit Gregor geht weiter. Er möchte in seinem Leben einen anderen Weg einschlagen und ein großes Segelboot kaufen, mit dem er um die Welt segeln kann. Wir unterstützen ihn dabei, diesen Traum endlich umzusetzen und besichtigen mit ihm nun das zweite Schiff, das er als Favorit ausgewählt hat. Wir fliegen also nach Izola in Slovenien, denn da liegt ein Schiff, das von den Kriterien her zu 100% passen würde. Es ist tatsächlich gar nicht einfach, ein Schiff mit seinen Anforderungen zu finden. Denn es soll ein Decksalon Schiff sein mit viel Platz und im Idealfall auch noch Aluminium - das aber für einen Preis von unter 120.000 €. Das letzte 14m Segelboot auf Film #8 (https://bit.ly/35WQHrY) war ihm im Endeffekt zu klein. Deshalb sind wir jetzt nochmal eine Nummer größer, allerdings wird das Segelschiff keinen Schönheitspreis gewinnen. Worum es sich genau handelt, das gibt es im Video! Viel Spaß damit! Hier wieder ein kleiner Zwischenbericht unserer Arbeiten. Als erstes zeigen wir euch ein Tool, was problemlos Lack und Antifouling entfernt . Diese Tercoo Scheiben funktionieren richtig gut und bringen das alte Antifouling bis auf den Stahl runter. Wir streichen die Stellen wo früher die Stützen waren mit Coppercoat und haben somit das komplette Unterwasserschiff mit Antifouling gestrichen. Ein weitere spannender Punkt dieses mal ist unsere Windsteueranlage. Ein tollen Gerät, dass die Yacht selbständig auf Kurs hält, ohne Strom zu verbrauchen und im Notfall sogar als Notruder dienen kann. Diese Vorteile sind für Langfahrer kaum von der Hand zu weisen. Wir haben uns für eine Hydrovane entschieden. Die Hydrovane Windsteueranlagen haben zwei wesentlichen Vorteile gegenüber anderen Windsteueranlagen. Zum einen muss sie nicht mittig installiert werden, sondern funktioniert auch "off center", zum anderen benötigt sie keine Verbindung zum Hauptruder, sondern steuert selbständig. Das und die vielen positiven Erfahrungsberichte haben uns letztlich überzeugt und wir freuen uns schon sie in nächster Zeit mal auszuprobieren. Cada kit de aplicação: 1kg de Resina epóxi 350g de catalisador 2,700kg de cobre Lixar com Lixadeira Orbital Lixas P40 e P80 para acabamentos Aplicação: - 01 misturador de massa - baldes de plástico para preparação da mistura (cada mistura para não ter resíduo de resina endurecida, usar 1 novo) - rolo de lã curto de 15cm (01 rolo para cada pessoa, para cada kit) - bandeja de tinta, ter no mínimo uns 3 para cada pessoa que aplicar. - pincel de tinta para aplicação em lugares difíceis, como acima do leme, etc. Dicas: - eu apliquei na primeira mão, apenas a resina sem o cobre, para criar uma camada pura e sem contato direto com o casco. Fica a critério seu. - na rabeta e hélice, apliquei Pro Speed gel. Ficou perfeito, nunca vi nada igual. Para limpeza, basta apenas passar a mão. Lindo - Fazer o polimento para ativação da tinta após secar. Usei lixa d'água 120. Polir até tirar o brilho. Usei lixadeira Treme Treme para lixar. - Nos primeiros 2 meses, a tinta não faz efeito. Ficar atento a limpeza de fundo. Depois ficou top.

Slight hitch in that plan - the Kiteboards got lost on their flight. With only a couple of days left on their stay the luggage arrived and we raced over to Mooreea in search of wind. Well we found it! 25 knots of wind on our sail over there had us chuck in a couple of Reeves and we were all loving life. The boys had a romantic sunset kite Sesh for two, whilst the girls were on photog duty. Don’t worry, we were rewarded for our sterling efforts. We’d herd speak of some resident rays - all the rays - sting, eagle and manta, hanging out somewhere nearby. So we went on to seek them out. Unfortunately we only found one of the aforementioned species, but man they made up for it. We did not bargain for how soppy these stingrays were going to be - all lining up for cuddles with us. Scuba diving Mexico's Coronado Islands with Waterhorse Dive Charter out of San Diego. Fall is the time of the year when the sea lions come out to play with divers. Mating season is over and the juveniles are coming into their own. Curious and mischievous a divers delight for sure. It's not all about the sea lions there is plenty to explore. Special thanks to Zach, Katerina and the crew of the Humbolt for the opportunities to explore these islands so close to my home in San Diego.

Experience diving Socorro aboard Rocio del Mar! The Revillagigedo Islands (also Revillagigedo Archipelago) are a group of four volcanic islands in the Pacific Ocean, known for their unique ecosystem. The islands are home to many endemic plant and animal species. Socorro island is the most diverse in flora, fauna, and topography. The islands lie 250 miles off Baja Mexico's southern shore. When embarking on a trip to the Socorro Islands we plan to dive the islands of San Benedicto, Socorro, and Roca Partida. Due to the distance to Clarion, this is only dived on longer expeditions. These islands are a spectacular magnet for the largest ocean pelagic animals in the world. Animals include schooling hammerhead sharks, tiger sharks, friendly bottlenose dolphins, silky sharks, Galapagos sharks, clouds of jacks and barracuda, tuna, wahoo, oceanic white tip sharks, whale sharks and manta rays. Manta Rays are the claim to fame for Socorro Islands. The island where they predominately congregate is San Benedicto. The magical dive site called "The Boiler" is a submerged sea mount and cleaning station. More than a half dozen mantas frequent this pinnacle regularly. The mantas in the Revillagigedo Islands are friendly and enjoy the presence of humans. This is truly an exceptional place to experience the manta magic. Humpback whales visit during the winter months of mid-February through mid-April. We often hear the sounds of the singing mating males as they provide escort underwater. Sightings are common during this time. Whale sharks can be seen during the months of November, December and May. This destination can only be dived by a live aboard dive vessel. It takes approximately 26-28 hours one-way to reach the islands. This is an excellent dive destination for large pelagics due to the open ocean nature of the islands, which sometimes include currents and choppy conditions. The underwater topography consists of rocky outcroppings, boulders and some incredible walls. There is not much in the way of coral as this is a cooler water destination.

After sailing north 55 miles from Tanna, we reach Dillons Bay, Erramango Island. David, builder of the Yacht Club and a Tour Guide approaches in his dug out canoe with some welcome presents.. The following day we have a look around the island with him and find out a bit more. Erramango was named by the missionaries of the 1800's as Martyr Island. There were more missionaries killed here than anywhere else. The current day inhabitants are not very comfortable with their infamous past, believing they were cursed. There are plans to open up the island more to tourism and show off some of its attractions.

Since we hauled out and learned that we probably have to extend our 'short stay' in the boatyard to a way longer one, I was dreaming about that day. This is an old saying so we can't take any credit for it, but since we run aground in this Episode it seemed to fit! In it, we get to work on fixing our hydraulic autopilot that failed on our passage from the Bahamas. We've detoured to North Carolina and are anchored in a creek adjacent to a nature preserve which is where we find ourselves aground when our Rocna anchor drags. Potevamo ammirare lo spettacolo del sole, ora dopo ora, accompagnato da uccelli e da nuvole disegnate. I tuoi occhi erano del colore della sabbia e del mare, più mi guardavi e più entravi dentro i miei, colorati dalla pace della notte. Quando non avevamo più niente da dirci, ci hanno sempre pensato loro. Erano quelli i momenti in cui le parole non avevano più importanza. Mi è sempre piaciuto scrivere con l’inchiostro nero della notte quando si avvicina. Ogni parola è stata versata ma senza ottenere altro risultato che la certezza di essere andato alla deriva, tra promesse sussurrate e la luce cangiante del mattino che entra senza bussare. Anche se la mia mano ora è stanca di scrivere, il mio cuore è giovane e la mia mente lo seguirà in eterno, come sempre ha fatto. Questo potrebbe essere il tramonto più bello che abbia mai visto, un miracolo che col fuoco delle parole marchia la mia sconfinata immaginazione.
