Probando el Mothquito con muy poco viento, pero con éxito Nuevos ajustes en el #mothquito , coincidiendo en la bahía con la finalización de la última regata de la clase #Hansa303 ⛵️⛵️ celebrada en el Club Náutico de Jávea para la Comunitat Valenciana Olympic Week , el Club que también acoge al Mothquito cediéndole una base para el proyecto y a quién damos la enhorabuena por la excelente organización y por su constante apoyo al deporte de la vela en nuestro país al más alto nivel. También, como no, aprovecho para felicitar a la Federación de Vela de la Comunidad Valenciana @fvcv organizadora de este evento y al resto de Clubs participantes por su incansable labor. El barco comienza a demostrar con energía su potencial 🚀🚀. Con apenas 8 nudos de viento el #mothquito ha conseguido marcar puntas de 15 nudos de velocidad con absoluta estabilidad transversal y longitudinal, gracias al sistema de foils que incorpora, el IFS Increased Foiling System que aumenta la eslora y manga dinámicas del barco en vuelo. Vemos pilotando sin esfuerzo a mi querido amigo Javier Poole Derqui 😎, gran navegante desde hace muchos años y que se ha estrenado en el mundo del #foiling con el #mothquito Ya que su primer vuelo fue también el primero del Mothquito, y aquí le vemos en el segundo vuelo de su vida. Está tan feliz que solo le falta fumarse un puro... Bien hecho Javi, dos salidas, dos vuelos!! 👏🏼👏🏼 Seguimos trabajando para optimizar maniobras, configuraciones y trimados, por ejemplo estamos ultimando una contra de empuje (invertida) para la mayor. En el video aún estamos navegando sin ella por lo que llevamos la baluma muy abierta por arriba reduciendo mucho el rendimiento del barco, ya que al volar generamos mucho viento aparente y en aleta por ejemplo hay que trimar las velas como para ceñida o descuartelar, por lo tanto poder aplanar más la mayor para que trabaje bien su mitad superior es de vital importancia. También estamos probando otros reglajes y trabajando en unos nuevos foils de timón optimizados. Esta fase del desarrollo del prototipo es muy intensa y hay que ir escuchando con atención todo lo que nos va diciendo el barco en cada salida al mar. Gracias a Virginie Bzgt por grabar para el Team Mothquito estas estupendas imágenes, también a Wolfgang Habe por su gran labor como director técnico del proyecto y a mi amigo Angel Palomar protagonista del vuelo anterior y que visteis mas de 35.000 amigos y simpatizantes de Facebook, él tampoco había hecho foiling antes en su vida.. February 1, 2020, and my mooring contract with Garrison Bight City Marina is up. I move off onto anchor near Fleming Key to weather another passing front. Should have stayed on the mooring ... my anchor pulls out around 0600 the following morning thanks to volley of rain squalls, and I have quite the time getting my anchor weighed and under sail without going aground or hitting anything. Leaving the Orkney Islands behind, we sail over the top of Scotland to take in the magic and cliffs of the western side of this island. Parking ourselves about as far north as you can get there, we find ourselves in utter isolation, but with breathtaking views of cliffs and mountains surrounding us. Just a little further down the coast we go ashore in a small town and take a hike along a riverside, full of rapids and waterfalls. If we didn't know any better, we might think we were still in Norway. Enjoy!

WE sail through the islands of Belize again and this time with a baby on board! Our friends Mirra and Cary come down for a week in the islands for Thanksgiving with happy little baby Seaeena. It was our first time with a baby on board as well as mom and dads with their new bundle of joy so needless to say it was new for everyone of us! It was another challenge for us to see how to manage the boat and sail with the baby on board and everything went swimmingly! But that still doesn't mean we will be having one of our own. We sail, snorkel and explore the beautiful Belizian coast with our friends yet again however before doing so, we had a few things to get right on the boat. After tearing apart the boat to relocate the Garmin Autopilot brain we successfully reconfigured the settings from 30 degrees off to 2-3. In addition to the the autopilot, we still had to pull the anchor up by hand since losing the windlass our of the Rio Dulce. Luckily, along with their baby, our friends hauled a new 50lbs windlass with them in their luggage all the way to Belize. Started seeing jackfruit on American grocery shelves lately. Must be gaining popularity among the vegan crowd. So, I thought I share a really simple and easy recipe for green jack fruit from back home. I used tinned & frozen jack fruit. But the brand of the frozen jack fruit that I picked up is not very good. Make sure you don't use ripe jackfruit. There are many variations of the same recipe. Search "Nangka masak lemak" for all the recipe out there.
