I like the Gotway MSX 84v alot. I am only riding for a couple of months and started with a second hand Inmotion V5f, which soon appeared too light for my needs. After 15km the battery was drained. Now I have bought the MSX 84v 1859Wh. This gives me enough juice to get me about 80 km on easy ride and 60 km on hard ride. (not going below the 20%) Here I had a fixed Gopro 4 on my helmet (no stabilisation). And a Sjcam SJ8 Pro on a 3 axis gimbal on a selfie stick. As a first attempt in filming, I think it was ok. However, the Insta360 One R is on my wishlist, which will make cruising with the selfie stick much more relaxed. I also recorded the screen, while the EUC app was running. Hope you enjoy this video.

In this episode, we install a washing machine on the boat. We build a framework, install it and begin using it. We chose the Giantex washing machine as it was available via Amazon and it fit our size / space requirements. It doesn't dry, but it washes, spins, soaks and then we hang up the laundry outside on the life lines to dry it. We have been using it now for a few months and have found it to be fairly water intensive. I estimate that it uses about 10 gallons of water per load. So I started using sea water for washing and then fresh for the rinse. Power wise it isn't too bad though. I think we will eventually explore a combo washer dryer unit in the hopes that it will use less water. Hope you enjoy this one!

In this episode I take a look at shouting and the intimidation techniques often employed by skippers who feel it is OK to speak to their crew in a bullying and disrespectful manner. I uncover how damaging this is not only to the crew but also to the 'shouter' & the group dynamic on the boat. Triton Bay is one of three regions that together with Raja Ampat and Cenderawasih Bay comprise the Bird’s Head Seascape of West Papua. This area is also famous for its beautiful corals and marine life. This still relatively unknown destination is full of treasures and fast becoming legendary for its beautiful soft corals, huge schools of fish and migrating whale sharks. The area has been protected since 2008, allowing fish stocks to recover from overfishing. Devoid of humans, the healthy, unbleached reefs have practically no garbage floating around. When not diving the fishy sites, there is amazing macro diving to be found. All five species of pygmy seahorse can be found with solid predictability – not only Denise and Bargibanti but also the very tiny species of Pontohi and Sotomi. The Paracheilinus nursalim flasher wrasse is found only in Triton Bay, Misool and South Raja Ampat.

I was SO happy at 2AM when it was time for our watch shift. Ryan came up from the cabin, we pulled the sails out all the way and after 24 hours on the engine we were finally sailing again! I was envisioning a good 6 hours of sleep, but that’s not really how the night went :( I’ve always known that going offshore means being ready to repair about anything at any time, but I didn’t expect how much we’d have to do that. We’ve had a fair share of issues to solve since we departed and listening to our buddy boats, it feels like we are the only ones going through so much breakage! But the winds are back, Polar Seal is flying over the water again, and the sun is topped up our batteries all the way. As people we have the innate ability to compare ourselves, in everything we do – to what someone else is doing or has done. We constantly compare the beginning of our endeavors to someone else’s middle. Our middle to someone else’s end. And when you do that – you will find that you are never satisfied. You will never be good enough. You’ll always struggle to celebrate your accomplishments. Wherever you are in life with whatever you’re doing – you’re going to be ahead of some and behind others. And that’s okay. Own where you are. Take time to embrace and celebrate that. Continue moving forward. Never compare your beginning to someone else’s middle.
