A mystery box arrives and Magnus goes to collect it and returns with a very, very long box! What can it be? It's our new Kapten Boat Collar for Peanut IV. This will make her very stable and so a much safer tender to have in the Kimberley. The last thing you want to do is to fall into shark infested waters! Peanut IV will also act as our life raft, so the boat collar will keep us stable. Magnus makes a start on the v-berth mattress project. He does the measuring up ready for cutting the beautiful memory foam mattress that we have bought to upgrade the 40 year old foam mattress in the v-berth to something rather gourmet. Magnus then spends the next few days racing to install the Kapten Boat Collar before an impending cyclone arrives. He needs to get out to Nutshell to secure her lines and batten down her hatches before the cyclone hits! Oh, yes and Magnus has a taste of his newest brew which is absolutely delicious! We continue our sailing journey around the world in mid-Maine. Join us as we make landfall in Rockland, ME, tour Penobscott Bay, cruise Maine’s coast, navigate to tucked away anchorages such as Seal Bay, and explore the scenic beauty and off the grid isolation of Maine's most beautiful anchorages and small towns. This video is mostly coastal cruising and sailing, rather than offshore. We find a private island, talk anchors, hike to a lighthouse, sail in fog, see a seal, talk watermakers, tour working fishing harbors, and more. We are sailing around the world in our J/46 monohull sailboat. Our sailboat, Sweet Ruca, is a fully equipped fast bluewater sailboat. She has a watermaker, solar panels, LifePO4 lithium batteries, spinnakers, and more. We started our journey in Newport, RI as we refit our boat on the hard. We are excited about getting our first coat of paint onto our head walls! After looking at fiberglass walls for months we can’t wait to start seeing white walls! Karen does a great job while working with flow coat / pool paint considering the working time is very short. Sally takes it really easy during our fourth week of lockdown and Cleo goes for a walk with Karen and Robin to the marina wall, but does she make it back? We show you the results of using peel ply on our fiberglass shower floors (after showing you how we made our own shower floors in last weeks episode) Colben and Denver put up the reefing lines with much deliberation between the two of them and Robin, making a 20 minutes job an hour and a half job! Colben and Denver fit our JABSCO water pump on the port side of the yacht so we can finally start using the port side water tanks. It is difficult to work in such small spaces but I guess we have to make it work because our floors are already fitted. The pumps are then wired up, the tanks cleaned out with bleach and we have water coming through to our sink from the port side tanks!!! With our 5th and final week of stage 5 lockdown looming see what we get up to next week for mother’s day and watch us transform our forward cabin from bare hulls to a livable cabin!
