Wir haben sogar mal Zeit neue Rezepte, wie z.B. das Benko Kartoffelgratin auszuprobieren 😋 . Sailing ORIZON - Segeln im Mittelmeer... Nachdem alle Reparaturen erledigt sind können wir in die Inselwelt vom ionischen Meer eintauchen. Es geht erst mal wieder Richtung Festland, dort sind die hübschen kleinen Syvota Inseln, die wir nicht auslassen wollten. Nach einer ganz ruhigen Nacht vor Ankern mit Heckleine segeln wir nach Paxos rüber und steuern das schöne Lakka mit seinem türkisblauem Wasser im Nordosten der Insel an. Lakka ist im August wie befürchtet knallvoll aber trotzdem eine super schöne Bucht und ein lieblicher Ort. Dann geht's ein paar Seemeilen weiter nach Gaios wo wir nur einen kurzen Stopp machen, weil wir hören, dass Gaios an der Mole richtig teuer geworden ist (25-35€). Das wollen wir uns nicht leisten und gehen für die Nacht in die hübsche Bucht Mongonissi am südlichen Ende von Paxos, in der wir aus Platzgründen wieder mit Landleine festmachen. Paxos und Antipaxos wollen wir nächstes Frühjahr nochmal ausgiebiger besegeln wenn weniger los ist. Am nächsten Morgen setzen wir unseren Törn Richtung Ormos Valtou bei Parga am Festland fort... +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ After all repairs are done, we can dive into the island world of the Ionian Sea. First we go back to the mainland, there are the pretty little Syvota Islands, which we didn't want to miss. After a very quiet night at anchor with a stern line, we sail over to Paxos and head for beautiful Lakka with its turquoise blue water in the northeast of the island. Lakka is packed in August, as feared, but still a super beautiful bay and a lovely place. Then it's a few nautical miles to Gaios where we only make a short stop because we hear that Gaios has become really expensive at the pier (25-35 €). We don't want to afford that and go to the pretty bay Mongonissi at the southern end of Paxos for the night, where we moor again with a land line for reasons of space. We want to sail Paxos and Antipaxos more extensively next spring when there is less going on. The next morning we continue our trip towards Ormos Valtou near Parga on the mainland... In the middle of the summer, we had a fun 3-day mini-cruise to Lake Superior's North Shore and back, anchoring overnight at Raspberry Bay in the Apostle Islands and staying another night at the Silver Bay Marina. The weather was changeable, so — besides some great sailing — we had thunderstorms, beam seas, and fog, before we returned at Bayfield. On this trip, we were sailing with two buddy boats, the Hitra and Annie B. Stone.

We sail aboard our sailboat MY LIFE, along the Catalonian coast. We feel free again and enjoy more than ever the first rays of summer sun that has just begun. We visit the historic city of Tarragona where Noemi guides us trough this Wonderfull city, and then we continue sailing to visit the beautiful nudist beach "Del Torn", as well the LLop Marí cave near l'Hospitalet de. l'Infant. ------------------------------------------------------------ Navegamos a bordo de nuestro velero MY LIFE por la costa de Catalunya. Another great thing about lake Garda and especially Torbole is that you can choose which wind and wave conditions you want to train in. At a typical afternoon you have about 16 to 22 knots of wind near Torbole and Riva and the wind loses about half it's strength when you are half the way up to Malcesine. It is kind of the opposite direction in the morning. There are some "secret" spots where you have that extra portion wind strength. In front of Piers Windsurf Hotel is the most famous one. Sometimes this leads to a difficult situation when you have a wall of windsurfers above you and you don't want to bear away in the special gust... Anyway it's very cool to have a boat that is fast enough to go all around the place that you can take advantage of this special wind situation. For us the training conditions were perfect so we practiced a few tacks, foiling bear aways and gybes. It is interesting to see how you can influence the foiling with your body tension. Leaning out more means more flight high. More leaning inwards and/or more heel means less flight hight. Episode 142: Life is SHORT, Make MEMORIES!! While we are stuck here in Cape Town we are making the best of it and one thing we have learnt is time stands still for no body so we are going to make memories because life is far to short to fret about the little things When are we leaving?? We answer that question for you.. Cape Town is coming alive again & hearing the music being played and the people walking around made us emotional.. Life is returning to some form of what we can remember. We also take a trip to the Two Oceans Aquarium which we were so excited to go to. We got to see so many different species of fish we probably won't be able to see again once we get started on our travels as well as kelp forests. We decided to take the plunge after spending almost every Sunday on signal hill watching the para gliders. This time we decided we are gonna do it! We also took the cable cars up Table Mountain and man was that an amazing piece of engineering (Ricky was in awe) We took a trip to Langebaan and Saldanha to check out the area and see if it would be a potential stop for Lady Africa if we got time or once we leave for Namibia.
