Wind conditions at Eleven Mile Reservoir tend to be variable and very gusty. We often start out with glassy waters and no wind--and then end the day with 20 mph gusts. This day we lucked out and had really nice, consistent wind. We sailed for 4 hours, covered 8.4 miles and had a top speed of 5.3 mph (4.6 knots). Hope you enjoy the video!

For a 56 year old boat, Yellow Bird has a lot to like. She's a 1964 Chris Craft 35 foot Sailyacht. This was one of the first fiberglass boats to be built by Chris Craft. She boasts a huge and protected center cockpit, an open aft deck, a separate aft cabin, and a functional and comfortable main saloon. It's a very unique layout for a 35 foot sailboat. She also has a full keel and a newer engine. I believe the current asking price is indeed "Dirt Cheap" for the amount of value you get in this vessel. Also, since the seller is motivated, she is encouraging any reasonable offers to be made, so you might get a really good deal. Definitely do a survey. What do you think? Na gut, die meiste Zeit pennt die türkische Promenadenmischung an Deck und träumt von ihrem Lieblingshobby: Fressen. Am liebsten aus Mülltonnen. Und das hat mit ihrer Vergangenheit zu tun. Çingene war einmal ein Straßenhund, eine Rumtreiberin. Daher kommt auch ihr Name. Politisch korrekt übersetzt müsste sie heute „nach ungarischer Art“ heißen. Aber damals, vor elf Jahren, war ‚Zigeuner‘ noch kein Schmähwort. Das Buch erzählt die wahre Geschichte der kleinen Rumtreiberin, die zum Bordhund wurde, aus zwei Perspektiven. Einerseits als Comic aus der Sicht von Çingene und einmal aus der neutralen Erzählerperspektive. Sie beginnt in ihrer schweren Jugend und endet - natürlich - mit ihrer glanzvollen Karriere auf See. Hi Gang! Here is another update on our sailboat #restoration of Reverie, our 1985 Pearson 34 Centerboard #sailboat . This video has a couple of days of work and some interesting takes on: - Removing the Rudder of the Pearson 34 Sailboat - Removing Quadrant - Removing Propeller - Impact of Low Level Current on Underwater Metal - check 2:15 - What serious #damage looks like from low level current on your propeller - check 5:30 We had to use an impact driver and a large bid to remove the bronze screws that hold the rudder show together without damaging the screws. We had to cut the #propeller as it was completely welded to the shaft. We broke two shaft pullers trying to get it out and had no choice but to cut the propeller. It was a good thing to take this route as the propeller had significant damage from underwater low level current. It made the prop really brittle which is really a big safety issue. If I had known it was that bad, I would have not taken the boat out as much as we did. This shows you the important of a #galvanic isolator to protect from galvanic corrosion Rudder came out pretty easily. The quadrant had 6 screws holding the two halves together. We used a breaker bar and the impact driver to remove them and remove the quadrant from the rudder post so we could drop the rudder. Next week, I will be sharing pictures of the rudder inners and we are going to fix the thruhulls on the boat. Stay tune!
