C’est un départ pour les Bahamas!! On a de la difficulté à contenir de notre joie tellement on est heureux d’y retourner; l’eau bleu turquoise, les plages de sable blanc, la pêche et la plongée nous appellent plus que jamais. Jun 2017: 1. Mal als Skipperin startete ich als SKS-Frischling mit meinen Jungs ab Pula unseren 1. Segeltörn ab der ACI Marina Pula in Istrien, Kroatien mit einer ELAN 333 - Ankern in Bucht Portic über den Kvarner - Mali Losinj Bucht Tomozina & Stadthafen, Ilovik Bucht Parzine bis Silba Bucht Papranica bis Dienstag Teil 2: Von Silba bis Veli Losinj Bucht Balvanida über den Kvarner zurück in die Bucht Paltana, Nachtfahrt durch die Brijuni Inseln nach Rovinj, Marina Vrsar, Porec zurück nach Pula. Nachdem sich auf die Schnelle keiner fand, der bereit war, mit mir und 3 Jungs ein Schiff zu chartern, machte ich mich selbst zur Skipperin und charterte ein Schiff ;) Es war wahnsinnig aufregend !!! Alles das 1. Mal: Ablegen, ankern, auf dem Schiff schlafen & essen ... Das 1. rückwärts Anlegen bei Seitenwind und Zeitdruck, weil die folgenden Crews direkt nach/neben mir anlegen wollten , ging gründlich schief! Aber aus Fehlern haben wir viel gelernt ;) Mit meinen Jungs übte ich im Vorfeld im Garten häufig das An- und Ablegen. Übersteigen, fest machen, eindampfen in die Heckleine, dann erst die Muring annehmen ... sie sollten verstehen, warum wir was machen und zu viert hat dann schon jeder seine wichtige Aufgabe. Nachdem ich ja selbst noch keine erfahrene Anlegerin war, sollten die Jungs alles richtig machen. Wir hatten alle VIEL Spaß! Freude am Segeln und Baden und ja, auch eine peinliche Situation, über die wir heute noch herzlich lachen können. Bei unserem 2. Törn im August 2017 lief es dann schon viel besser und wir hatten das riesen Glück, Wale in der Kvarner Bucht ganz Nah zu sehen. 2017 war ein wahnsinnig toller 1. Segelsommer für mich! Nach unserem stürmischen Schlag von Lohals zurück nach Heiligenhafen hatten wir einen wunderschönen Hafentag vor uns - leider waren neben dem Wassereinbruch am Vortag während des Törns noch weitere Probleme aufgelaufen. So haben wir beschlossen den Tag vor der Abreise zu nutzen, um nicht nur klar Schiff zu machen, sondern auch diverse Baustellen anzugehen. Unter anderem mussten wir das Seeventil im Bad überprüfen, einen Blick auf die Sendeleistung unseres AIS werfen, das UKW Antennenkabel von Korrosion befreien, die Bilge lenzen und dort Schläuche überprüfen, ein Schapp reparieren, die Verkabelung der Positionslichter reparieren, das Batterieladegerät checken und Magnete in ein Fliegengitter nähen... Eu já tinha visto na TV em algum documentário, programa de viagem, sei lá, mas eu tinha ficado apaixonada! Acho que também tem um na Europa, mas convenhamos! Esse está bem mais perto - e provavelmente mais barato. Pagamos 85 dólares por pessoa pelos dois mergulhos. O primeiro foi muito bonito pelas enormes dimensões das algas. Elas tinham dois metros! Eram árvores! Os cornetas que a gente via com 30 cm nos mergulhos de snorkel, tinham uns 70 cm a 12m de profundidade. Mas foi só um esquenta para o parque. Valeu, foi bonito, sempre é bom ver camarões palhaços, stone fishes, etc... mas incrível foram as esculturas! Elas tem diferentes idades e não estão completamente cobertas pelos corais, mas daqui a alguns anos e espero voltar e vê-las ainda muito mais lindas! Mas pelo vídeo já dá pra ver o quanto é encantador. A história de que dois furacões destruiram 20% dos corais em 2004 e 2005 também é tocante. Por isso as esculturas foram colocadas lá. A história é tão linda quanto o mergulho é poético!

#55 Après la découverte des problèmes structurels de l'aileron du safran, du safran inondé d'eau et de la quille qui est craqué, dû à un impacte inconnu, on commence à sentir qu'on a vraiment beaucoup de job à faire sur ce bateau. Toutefois, on garde le sourire, et on tente de prendre les choses une étape à la fois. De plus, on doit retarder ces projets en raison d'une tempête tropicale qui nous emmène toute sa pluie. Il est donc temps d'être créatifs, et de s'attarder à d'autres tâches nécessaires à la mise à l'eau. Ahhh! Unless weather gets below freezing for extended days, our final sail of the season is usually on Thanksgiving's long weekend. We then winterize the boat and take any canvas or Sails that need mending over the winter. Although, I didn't show any of the winterizing steps in this video. Perhaps next year as it took us a couple years to get more efficient at winterizing Matilda. Galactica will take me 20 minutes to winterize today. :)

We had a lot of fun making this curious drink. I don't know if it's something I'd want all the time, but on that day we were both happily surprised with the way this odd twist on a classic turned out. I'm really curious to see if anyone out there gives it a try! We are constantly trying out new recipes at it doesn't always go well. Right now Lauren is trying to perfect a green rum drink and it's been a challenge- stay tuned! She's also trying to find cheap ways to improve our audio quality. We set off for a Friends and Family afternoon sail in the Charleston Harbor. The crew enjoyed a delicious home-made family meal before raising the sails and setting off on our adventure. We got to see the sights that Charleston has to offer from the waters' perspective. Sailed right alongside the Battery wall, watched the flag whip atop the flagpole on Castle Pickney, enjoyed the absolute magnitude of the Ravenel Bridge, the stark grey Yorktown, the black & white of Sullivan's Island Lighthouse, and the huge steel hulled two level tourboats making their way back and forth to the historic Fort Sumpter. We even got to sail right past the three Masted Schooner Pride as she steamed home towards her dock for the evening. What an awesome place to enjoy being on the water with the ones you love! Looking forward to our next sail! ❤ Dos Capitanas
