Not so much for repairs straight away, as we still need to secure multiple quotes for all the damaged items before we get the go ahead from the insurance company. We are no longer able to generate enough power to supply the limited items still working so we need to plug in to shore power. Time passes slowly. Due to the fear of dropping behind with his education, Declan decides to return to New Zealand and school. Also he doesn’t want to get bored waiting for the something to happen in the boat yard. And he’s not wrong February bleeds in to March without any repairs taking place. We alleviate the boredom by taking time out for good behaviour at The Gold Coasts theme parks. Rob also catches up with Declan and Finn when he travels to NZ for work and Finn has some rather exciting performances in his rowing skiff. In 1997, after a disastrous Olympic rowing campaign, Rob decided to row a seven-metre plywood boat, 2500 miles from Tenerife in the Canary Islands to Barbados in the Caribbean. It took 6 weeks and he and his rowing partner, Phil Stubbs, won the inaugural Atlantic Rowing Race. Skip forward to 2014, we invested in Javelot a 43 ft Fountaine Pajot catamaran. Armed only with Robert's 3 years of racing P class yachts from the age of 11 to 13, and Rachel's non existent sailing knowledge, we set off to learn the ropes of ocean sailing. We broke stuff, replaced stuff and got to know our boat before heading offshore with our three children, Finn 17, Declan 15 and Ivan 12, in tow. Through trial and error, we have become confident wayfarers, kind of. Our plan? To sail around the world, meet the locals and record our adventures. Part of the journey will be retracing Rob’s eldest brother Kerry’s travels at sea. Using Kerry’s original letters from the 1970’s we will re trace his movements from Australia through Indonesia and South East Asia to Cambodia where Kerry’s life was cut short after straying into Cambodian waters in 1978. During his time away from work, Jamie lived on board and cruised South East Asia. One of his life dreams is to sail around the world. His plans came together at the end of 2018 when he met a Filipina lounge singer in China. Princess was yearning for a vacation since she had been working many years to support her family. Finally, her siblings got their own jobs and she decided to join Jamie on Jupiter² and go sailing. It was a wild decision for her because she had never sailed before. For the first time, they sail for two weeks around Phuket, Thailand. She began to see what Jamie love about the sea. They both resigned from their jobs in early 2019 and began cruising full time. O veleiro da vez foi um Flash 165. A represa Guarapiranga estava completamente vazia, quando comecei a velejar, só tinha o meu veleiro na água, trazendo um momento melhor de paz e conexão com a natureza, sem nenhum motor de lancha ou jet-sky, apenas o som da água e dos pássaros. Il cliente ha scelto la vela per la terza volta e come sempre hanno preso parte all'evento circa 300 partecipanti. Dopo aver veleggiato a Malta, nel 2016 e a Barcellona, nel 2017, il 2018 abbiamo issato le vele a Dubrovnik. Scegliere per tre volte la vela, significa credere profondamente nei risultati che l’attività velica è in grado di generare.

C'est bien difficile, mais il faut vraiment sortir de l'eau maintenant si on veut parcourir les 2 MN qui nous séparent de Bonifacio. Voici une vidéo un peu hors norme pour cette chaîne, qui présente l'intégralité du trajet depuis le phare de la pointe de la Madonetta jusqu'à l'amarrage à quai au ponton K. En réalité c'est un trajet d'environ 1 mille qui va durer presque 30 minutes en navigant à vitesse réduite. La plupart des images sont accélérées 3 fois. Je laisse volontairement cette vidéo sans coupure et comme d'habitude, je rajoute un peu de musique. Nous avons eu à l'arrivée une petite contrariété un peu similaire à celle vécue à Calvi... On termine cette séquence par quelques clichés de la citadelle. Faire escale à Bonifacio sans y monter serait un sacrilège!

Ein erstes gemeinsames Trainingscamp für Theresa, Helena und Lena geht zu ende. Mit überwiegend Leichtwind Bedingungen wurden die minimal zum fliegen benötigten Windstärken ausführlich getestet.
