This is the third video in the Building a Balance 442 Catamaran series. Here you will follow the build of the first Balance 442 Catamaran from tooling to launch and sea trials of Hull #1. This video shows the progress on the bimini/cockpit roof plug, and the progress on the deck and cockpit plug. It also shows the construction of the water and fuel tank plugs and molds. Lastly, we look at the entire cockpit, deck and hull mock up that we carry out during the construction of the first hull. This is a very time and labor intensive exercise, but worthwhile: it allows us to examine the layout, flow and functionality of every space in and on the vessel – and make any tweaks, this saving a lot of time in the final construction phases of, for example, the interior and deck fittings. At this stage in the construction we also take all our owners on a video walk through of the entire mocked up vessel. This is important when they have not seen the exact vessel they have bought and gives them an opportunity to ask questions and request any customizations. It is important to note that the plywood mock ups are temporary and do not represent the actual finish materials of a completed vessel. Once we are happy with the fit and flow of the vessel, the mocked up plywood is removed and construction on the actual interior of the vessel continues. Support Joachim https://paypal.me/vernondeck?locale.x... The Family that Dared is the story of the Campe Family who sold everything they owned, built a boat and set off on an adventure none of them would forget. This might sound all too common but the family did it in 1977! This is the 3rd of 12 episodes that Joachim Campe filmed. They were all shot on 16mm film and have not ben seen since airing on German TV in 1984. Joachim, now 83 is very close to finishing another Circumnavigation aboard St Michel, the very same boat that the family sailed on four decades ago. His health has let him down and he is currently recuperating in Lombok, Indonesia and could use your support to get him sailing again. How many times did I not dream of not having to walk kilometer after kilometer, the 20kg IKEA bags sawing into my shoulders only to end paying a fortune and wait hours for clean laundry? So when it became apparent that we were going to spend quite some time in Bonaire, where the laundry was both far and expensive, we decided to invest. Washing machines our type are apparently available at supermarkets and chandleries in Martinique, but our friends at Catamaran Supply are working hard to be able to sell them. This is also where you can find our eco-friendly laundry detergent, which works great for all types of washing machines! We leave Yelapa, and set sail for tehuamixtle. Along the way the engine dies which made us a little nervous as there was no wind to get us going anywhere. We ended up backtracking a bit on our route. Finally Trav figured out what the problem was.... WE RAN OUT OF FUEL!! At least this time it wasn't our own stupidity.. the gas gauge was broken and no longer telling us the correct amount that we had. Luckily he got it going again without tooooo much of a hassle and we were on our way again. We saw sooo many turtles along the way. We couldn't believe how many were swimming right by us. Usually we just get dolphins but this was a nice change to the scenery! Clearly Trav loves them he spent all day watching and filming them. hahaha Once we arrived we were pleasantly surprised and how insanely clear the water was! It was so beautiful. There was no cell service in this town but we met a really nice american couple that invited us to their rental to use their wifi so we could check the weather for when we should leave! --------------------------------- Instagram- @Sailingdecorum --------------------------------- *WHO ARE WE?* •We are a Canadian couple, Travis and Jessica. A Bit Of Fashion | History & Culture In Cape Verde | Sailing Galopin | Winded Voyage S5 | Episode 14
Wendy did not have such a good time sailing down here, but sure did make up for it later. We docked at Porto do Praia with the fishermen. Then took the girls shopping at Sucupira Market. The islands biggest flea market. Me and Galopin get on on board fashion show. And later we visit the UNESCO World Heritage site of Cidade Velha, and there Wendy finds her groove and it's good times aboard my vessel. Whales, whales and more whales. WE had a once and a lifetime experience swimming with the beautiful whales sharks in La Paz followed by a couple days off the boat in the Mexican costal town of Todos Santos. On this episode, we jump in the cold water to swim with some of the biggest fish we have ever swam with. Swimming with these gentle giants was a bucket list item and we feel so lucky to have experienced it. Our next adventures brought us to a cute artsy Mexican town on the Pacific Coast of the Baja, where we explored the desert oasis and witnessed another spectacular event with the migrating humpback whales. It was a whaley worth it! Thanks for watching and DON'T FORGET TO SUBSCRIBE!!!! Do you need a new mattress or topper? Stop by Ayman Mattress and they will drop everything to show you what options you have! They are a kind and professional, family run business in the heart of Cole Bay. We ordered a 3" mattress topper with the plush top and I had the privilege of seeing it made from start to finish. It was a fascinating process. Alex created our topper and throughout the hours he answered questions as well as entertained with stories and singing. The owner, Nasser was also present throughout the morning and regaled me with stories from his family and growing up in Curacao. The mattress was $400 in total which included a pick up of the current mattress and return to the boat. We are Eileen and Brown Councill. Welcome to our channel and a glimpse into our life adventure! 2020 was a year of uncertainty and change (for all of us, right?), but we overcame the challenges and decided it was time to chase our dream, to sail around the world! Did I mention that we had very NO sailing experience? Before leaving Qingdao, China, our home of 4 years, we sold almost all of our earthly possessions and started our international search to find the right sailboat that we would call "home." After 5 months of unanticipated twists and turns, we found what we were looking for, a used Leopard 44' Catamaran located in St. Lucia. So, here begins our journey, filled with unmatched excitement and honestly, a bit of trepidation as well. We have much to learn as we travel the world on our floating home and we intend to document that journey and share it with you. We are so glad you have decided to join us, and we hope that you will find our story so compelling that it will inspire you to chase your dreams too! As a viewer, we consider you to be part of our family and look forward to getting to know you. Don't hesitate to comment on our videos and ask questions. We will do our best to answer every correspondence! All we ask is that you have patience with us as we work really hard to improve our camera/video techniques and ability to tell a story. Hopefully, you will be as BLOWN AWAY from watching, as we are in experiencing and producing our adventures! HOW CAN YOU SUPPORT US? Après deux années de construction, le maxi-trimaran Banque Populaire XI est sorti du chantier CDK Technologies mardi 27 avril. Devant les spectateurs – journalistes et entreprises ayant participé à la construction – impressionné par la manœuvre, le géant des mers a touché l’eau pour la première fois. Une étape importante pour toute l’équipe et qui marque une nouvelle page dans la carrière d’Armel Le Cléac’h. Interview.

#RORCRacing #DeeCaffari The 2021 RORC Spring Series came to a dramatic conclusion on April 17th. James Harayda racing Sun Fast 3300 Gentoo with Dee Caffari, was just one second ahead of Kelvin Rawlings’ racing Sun Fast 3300 Aries with Stuart Childerley. The result in the last race gave Gentoo victory in the series by a single point from Aries. Rob Craigie’s Sun Fast 3600 Bellino racing with Deb Fish was third. “The Spring Series had a super competitive fleet where every second counts,” commented Dee Caffari. “We have had the chance to blow the cobwebs off in The Solent, and on May 1st we will finally stretch our legs offshore. The next race is about preparation and also boat speed rather than the manoeuvres. We have seen how competitive the fleet is, so I am assuming we will all be testing each other to the max.”
- - - Joris and Maxime share their daily work within the ALUBAT shipyard design office. Both sailors, they are the technical entry points between the outside and the inside of the site as they are in constant contact with the architects - suppliers - sales manager and the production team. They have a vision of all stages of boat building and are involved in studying specific customer requests. They use high-performance software to produce 3D content - cutouts of aluminum plates - integration of technical equipment and furnitures... The design office is involved both upstream of a new project and must be attentive to the market and innovations both in terms of equipment and methods, and downstream to continue to improve and develop existing models.

We are still stuck in Honfleur but we are trying to make the most of it. A local invited us to join them in doing some littler picking on the beach. A beach clean up was a great way to give Honfleur some love back after all the good experiences we've lived and shared with its people. As the weather warmed up a bit and the sun was out; we started the KiwiGrip project. It envolved a lot of scraping and sanding, and scraping and sanding and a bit more of scraping and sanding... Our arms and hands hurt but we are pretty happy with the result. Applying KiwiGrip is not as easy as we thought... It takes some practice with the roller until you get the right texture. Pit Boss Combo Smoker/Grill - https://amzn.to/32nY5vNThis week we continue our Culinary tour of African cuisine. We started in Northern Africa with Morrocco, went down the West Coast toward Nigeria and Senegal and now we travel further South. Down in South Africa, they have a great minced beef dish called Bobotie. (Afrikaans: [bəˈbuəti]). This dish is a spiced minced beef dish with a creamy coating of milk and eggs before baking. I know, I know, it sounds odd, but it is one of the best things I have tried in quite some time. I really hope you try this dish, it is easy and really rewarding, Below are some supplies we used to do this on our grill, and below that is the full recipe. Here is what we used for this recipe Pit Boss Combo Smoker/Grill - https://amzn.to/32nY5vN Mango Chutney - https://amzn.to/3eaAl3Q Curry Paste - https://amzn.to/3sBcW0N 12" Lodge Cast Iron Grill Pan - https://amzn.to/3sqJ7Qf Teak Wooden Spoon - https://amzn.to/3uZovjP Saramonic Wireless Microphones - https://amzn.to/2P0tYri The full recipe is in the following blog post on our website. http://svdreamchaser.com/?p=3760 Making these videos and our own personal use, we have found some great resources that we wanted to share with you.
