Und so motoren wir der ersten Inspektion der Maschinen entgegen. Wir timen den Service so, dass wir die erforderlichen Stunden auf dem Tacho haben, aber nicht ins Wochenende fahren. Denn immer noch hinken wir dem Zeitplan ein wenig hinterher. Und so laufen wir Aguadulce bei Almeria an. Bei der Weiterfahrt regnet es. Nicht nur Wasser fällt vom Himmel, auch Schäkel, Bolzen und Sicherheitsringe landen plötzlich auf dem Deck. Kein Weg führt an einer Inspektion des Masts vorbei. Und dazu muss einer hoch klettern. Mitten auf dem Meer. Nur wer? Jens Reckermann kocht natürlich noch ein Abschiedsessen. Denn auf Mallorca verlassen er und Christine das Boot, steigt mit Familie wieder zu.

Our New year trip to San Blas continues. We moved to the popular, and one of our favourite island groups Coco Banderos. We had these beautiful islands all to ourselves! Sadly when we took the dinghy to the beach to enjoy a fish bbq with our friends, we noticed that another troupe of cruisers had enjoyed New Years on Coco Banderos, and had left all their trash behind, including lots of glass bottles. We had no choice but to clean it all up and take the glass and tins home with us! We were very surprised and annoyed, that people thought it would be ok to just leave this trash here... We were however happy that we found it and not the Guna Indians, as it would have painted “us” cruisers in a very bad light had they found it! Please, please, please, always make sure you take home all your trash when visiting the beach. As the saying goes, only leave your footprints behind! After cleaning up the trash, we had a lovely lunch of many different types of fish and salads. The following day our friend Oriel took us on a snorkelling trip. It was great to see so much marine life, and to see the healthy, thriving reef. We were treated to a Catalan Ros Caldos lunch, cooked on board Mokara for everyone, it was simply delicious! All too soon it was time to head back to Linton bay. We had a good steady wind pushing us home. As we had all left at the same time, it did turn into a bit of a race. We were very disappointed when the monohull shot off ahead of us, but later we found out that they had all agreed to also run their engines as they wanted to get home quickly. We hate running our engines, and with great steady winds we enjoyed our sail back. We dropped anchor at around 3pm and got started on all our chores.

Auch wenn du nur wenig Zeit hast - es lohnt sich immer, für kurze Zeit hinaus zu gehen und in dich in der Natur in eine Aufgabe zu vertiefen! Dabei spielt es eigentlich keine Rolle, auf was du dich einlässt - in diesem Video findest du auch einige "banale" Beispiele. Entscheidend für das Training ist, dass dein Job deine ungeteilte Aufmerksamkeit hat. Wenn das klappt, kann alles andere entspannen und in die Natur entlassen werden. Was dann passiert, ist immer wieder erstaunlich und eigentlich ein kleines Wunder! Die Natur nimmt unsere Spannung, unseren Sturkopf, den Ärger und das Leiden und was es sonst noch alles an Negativem bei dir geben mag, in sich auf. Sie kann irgendwie damit umgehen, wie die Pflanzen und die Bäume mit dem CO2. Ich glaube, das ist der besondere "Reinigungseffekt", den die Natur uns bieten kann, speziell im Bushcraften, aber natürlich auch bei jeder anderen Beschäftigung da draußen, die dich absorbiert. Wunderbar finde ich auch, wenn du in der Übung wieder zum Kind werden kannst und dich zum Beispiel mit einem guten Essen belohnst, einem schönen Gedanken oder einem großen Kinderlob wie z.B.: Das hast du jetzt richtig gut gemacht! Auch eine Mini-Challenge - wie das in diesem Video vorgeschlagene Camp in 2 Stunden - kann dir helfen, erst mal mit deinen "Kopf mitzunehmen", damit auch dein rationaler Geist "im Wald baden" kann. Die benutzen Werkzeuge und Gear habe ich unter dem Video verlinkt. Knidos Antik Kenti is our first stop with the start of our family sailing around the world. Dropping anchor in such a historic and magical place is really special. We spend here two nights and explored the surroundings of Knidos Antik Kenti. It was such a special feeling to really start sailing around the world with our Beneteau 57 after working so hard to get here. It's been a super stressful week trying to figure out how to break into more of the boat and get behind the cabins and walls to determine just how badly cracked the bulkheads are. It all seemed so easy when I was watching @ParlayRevival videos, but it's so much harder when you're actually doing it! The problem is I have zero experience working on boats and have no clue what I'm doing. I am incredibly grateful to have found the 2 best people in the world to teach me. Thanks! Hi all, so this week was a bit of a disaster with me being in a rush and under pressure...didn't catalyse the top coat.. I now have the glorious job of trying to wipe it all off. Take 2 i am going to be a bit more deliberate. Rather than rush whole locker i might do it in a few different sessions to get a better finish and more durable solid coat. The locker is sealed now so no idea why i rushed! My mind is well and truly committed to the best method of manufacturing the new dodger and exactly how i want it so some point very soon that will start...
