In deze video laat ik zien hoe ik op 13 mei 2021 Terschelling verlaat en net buiten de haven vastloop. Daarna zeil ik via het Stortemelk langs Vlieland buitenom naar Texel. Bij Texel wordt ik door een bevriend zeiler op de video gezet als ik door het Molengat vaar. Vervolgens zeil ik kruisend met 21 knopen naar Oudeschild. Daar staat mijn vriend op de kant te filmen als ik met 7.2 knopen snelheid en 3.0 knopen dwarsstroom zeilend de haven in vaar. Uiteraard heb ik eerst toestemming gevraagd om dat te mogen doen. Le varie lavorazioni richiedono tempi abbastanza lunghi mentre il disegno delle forme e la realizzazione delle dime un po meno! Il risultato finale è ottimo e la coperta acquista un bellissimo aspetto elegante/sportivo in oltre il piano di calpestio garatisce una buonissima tenuta antiscivolo. A seguire la coperta nella fase di resinatura e restauro dopo aver rimosso il vecchio teak... "What do you do on the boat?" We get asked that a lot. And the answer is "many things!" So for the recent long weekend, we filmed various clips of the many things we do...from making meals and walking the dog, to just hanging out and puttering around. I find that working on our many projects are fun, and give a real sense of accomplishment when they're complete, mainly because this is all very new learning for me. But there are other times where you can sit back with a good book and just enjoy the surroundings. And sadly, we were on the water, but we weren't Out on the Water, if you take my meaning. Starboard engine is still giving issues and in the spirit of being better safe than sorry, we made the decision not to risk going out and having to limp back on one engine. It's maddening, really, but not much we can do until it gets fixed. So what do you do? You make the best of it, and enjoy the time you have on the boat! As I've said before, a Rainy Day on the Water is better than a Sunny Day at Work! Enjoy!

We are just an amateur family trying our best to fix up this old rusty sailboat, sometimes things go well and sometimes they don't, and sometimes even progress feels deflating. This week we get the cockpit sealed, mostly, and stop the water coming in, mostly, and get it painted out, mostly, but there's still a long long way to go. Remember we're doing all of this so we can go full time cruising as a sailing family in a few years time. We're hoping eventually to get the boat set up for single handed sailing so we can relax knowing she is an easy boat to sail in any conditions from light winds to rough seas. Making sure our mast is in perfect condition along with our rigging is super important and we will be spending a lot of time getting it perfect! This is obviously a huge refit and refurbishment of this big, old, abandoned steel yacht and it's not only time consuming, it's complicated and quite expensive so we really do value any help we can get, whether it's helpful advice and comments on the video or gifts through our Amazon Wishlist or actual contributions through Patreon, Paypal and Ko-Fi. We learn how to sail a multi-million dollar sailboat! We have move aboard the Wolfhound and are learning the ropes, literally! This is the first time that we sail a 74 foot completely custom schooner sailboat and we set sail for Hawaii in just a few days. The experience is priceless and once in a lifetime. We have provisioned and stocked up on everything we should need for the next few weeks and are ready to leave Mexico. I’m in way over my head, but there’s no turning back now. The bulkheads in our Lagoon 450 just aren’t salvageable and the only way forward is to haulout and straighten our severely bent catamaran. @ParlayRevival helps me every step of the way—there’s no way this would be possible without them. Thank you Colin and Jamie for saving my catamaran! We straightened 15 tons of boat with some crazy techniques and it couldn’t have gone better! I was so incredibly stoked — it’s difficult to describe how great it felt to see the boat slowly shift back into its original form. The deck, walls, and woodwork all straighten out into their former glory. Thank you guys so much for your support and sorry for being so slow at editing these videos! We are leaving it all behind and Today is the day that we will be SETTING SAIL ON OUR NEW LAGOON 46 to cross the notourious BAY OF BISCAY on our new Catamaran #LAGOON46 and Leave it all Behind. One can say you are never ready to set sail, I can tell you that this saying is definetly true! On top of it, also it always makes me nervous to set sail on a brand new boat, just out of the factory. We believe in Lagoon and the quality of its products, even in today's new reality where we hear so much about Lagoon bulkhead issues and so on. We have stayed in Les Sables for 10 days, while getting JOY ready for the crossing, we were able to install our solar panels, engine integration, spreader lights, rear cameras and many, many other optionals. At the same time JOY is our new home and we had to decorate her well. Patricia took care of that part and she did a great job. We also had to buy everything in terms of safety gear, program our MMSI, get our insurance issued, and receive our boat registration. I'll tell you, it seems overwhelming at times, but we where able to complete out to do list before setting sail. Now is time to sail 355 nautical miles towards La Coruna in Spain.
