Unsere Segelreise hat uns in die französische Karibik geführt. Weil sich die globale Situation nicht verbessert, haben wir entschlossen Papa in den nächsten Flieger nach Hause zu setzten. Nicht aber ohne ihm noch etwas von Martinique zu zeigen. Mit dem Mietauto erkunden wir die Insel. Es geht über die traumhaften Strände von Presqu’île de la Caravelle, die ein echtes Surfer Paradies sind, bis nach Saint Pierre. Hier schauen wir uns die Geschichte der Stadt an. Der Vulkanausbruch Mont Pelée 1902 änderte hier alles. Anschließend fahren wir, auf der Suche nach einem schwarzen Strand, an der östlichen Küste entlang nach Norden. Und am Ende der Straße finden wir ihn tatsächlich. Plage Sinai, einfach traumhaft! Wir wünschen euch viel Spaß bei unserem Abenteuer Karibik. Wir packen unser Segelequipment ein, und reisen mit meiner Scirocco in den Süden. Gestartet wird ab Heimathafen Veruda in Pula. Nach diversen Einkäufen in der City von Pula, beluden wir das Schiff und machten es klar. Natürlich wurde wie jedes Mal, einige Reparatur arbeiten durchgeführt. Meine kleine Scirocco liegt das ganze Jahr im Wasser, weshalb auch viele kleinere Arbeiten am Schiff von Nöten sind. Neste sábado (24), aconteceu a abertura oficial do evento, com a presença dos organizadores do evento. Eles contaram suas expectativas e falaram da importância da volta da Semana de Vela, que não aconteceu em 2020 por conta da pandemia de Covid-19. Well, this is a slightly different episode. In addition to the 7 things I have learned about Typhoons in Japan, I share four reflections following being on board Wahine in Tokyo during Super Typhoon 19 and share tips from Japan cruising specialist Kirk Patterson. In the video, I share three of his tips but in fact, he shared four with me. All four are listed below in his words. I want to share with you Seven things you need to know about the Typhoon season in Japan. Up until 2019 I only experienced typhoons on land in Japan but twice within three months of moving onboard Wahine I experienced a typhoon on the water howbeit on in a Marina. The most intense was Super typhoon Hagibus #19. It was a direct hit on Tokyo and the marina. At that time Wahine was without a propeller so I could not leave the Marina so I decided to stay on board to experience Wahine`s behavior during a typhoon at the dock. When in a storm, one`s world shrinks in time and space Bonus： Thanks to Kirk Patterson for sharing his tips. ( www.konpira-consulting.com) (1) Carry at least four heavy lines at least 30 meters long…and another four lighter lines of 50+ meters…to put the boat in a spider web with fore, aft, port, sbd lines; (2) Have a large kedge anchor (Fortress is best) on about 50m of rode (incl 5m of chain) to put off the stern or side (depending on position and wind forecast); (3) Remove jib, dodger, and all loose items…also remove main if it's not in a bag (if in a bag, wrap a line around it, spiral along the length of the boom), (4) Seek safe harbor long before the typhoon arrives because the good spots fill up 2-3 days in advance (and note that many marinas won't allow visitors to arrive just before a typhoon…and that many of the best spots are actually reserved for use by certain boats during a typhoon). We install a Skar Audio EVL 10 subwoofer in our Jeep replacing the SVR 10 that we blew the surround. The EVL 10-inch subwoofer is a little deeper and wider than the SVR 10 so make sure your box is deep enough if you do this. If your subwoofer box is not bolted down, it will wobble as ours did in the test. Our box is made to be locked in by the seat and the Jeep tailgate. this also keeps people from stealing it because the only way to remove it is by unlocking the tailgate. Even though most of the specs of the subwoofers look the same on response minus the EVL having more excursion. The heavier magnet and the Made In America Coils of the EVL subwoofer seems to produce deeper, richer bass. The EVL sub is about double the cost of the SVR so if you are running lower watts you may want to go with the SVR. If your bass enthusiast you know what to do.
