No place we've sailed has had such SPECIAL MEANING as the one were about to sail to. It's where we we MARRIED 8 years ago and for over 2 years we've been dreaming of returning aboard our own boat. But due to some pretty extreme (and many would say unreasonable) entry restrictions and borders that were completely closed for longer than any of the Caribbean, we'd pretty much given up. But low and behold, things change as they always do. After discovering that, only recently, checking in aboard a private yacht has become very doable AND affordable, we're finally going. Enjoy!! In this episode we get to explore more of the Sea of Cortez. We are blown away by the beauty of the mountain ranges and the clarity of the water. It is a truly stunning place and unlike anywhere we've visited before. We discover an amazing natural harbour and hurricane hole with a world class marina tucked in there. A couple of lovely guys from La Paz drive up to measure our rigging. Then come and join us as we get to take our first kite surf session from Happy Days and stick our heads underwater to check out the sea-life too. Thanks for watching! During his time away from work, Jamie lived on board and cruised South East Asia. One of his life dreams is to sail around the world. His plans came together at the end of 2018 when he met a Filipina lounge singer in China. Princess was yearning for a vacation since she had been working many years to support her family. Finally, her siblings got their own jobs and she decided to join Jamie on Jupiter² and go sailing. It was a wild decision for her because she had never sailed before. For the first time, they sail for two weeks around Phuket, Thailand. She began to see what Jamie love about the sea. They both resigned from their jobs in early 2019 and began cruising full time. We Smelled Smoke! It took us several hours to sort out where the electrical problem was! I never would have looked at this area for a wiring problem! We don't know the exact age of our Mermaid Heat Pump Air Conditioner but we know it's not as old as the boat. It seemed to work fine for both heat and AC until we suddenly smelled electrical smoke and realized it had stopped working a few hours later. In this video we also weathered an unexpected Gale and another catamaran in the marina was almost in danger when the cleat broke loose. Tied to the Dock! Will We Ever Go Sailing?? | Harbors Unknown Ep. 58 Yup, we're still tied to the dock this week. After working on the steering system we attempted the dockside calibration of our autopilot and it is not working properly. We called the guys from Just Catamarans to take a look at it and see if they could figure out what's going on. Watch now to see what we found. We're excited to announce we are launching the Harbors Unknown community on Patreon! Visit patreon.com/HarborsUnknown to join NOW! If you're new here, Harbors Unknown is the story of two dreamers, Kristin and Fabio Potenti, and our French Bulldog dog Yoda. We sold our home at the beginning of the pandemic (May 27th, 2020) and moved aboard our @Seawind Catamarans boat, Wanderlust, in September, 2020. We're sailing her to Harbors Unknown, to explore the world’s vast cultures through food, a common thread amongst people everywhere. Connecting with people and places through the local cuisine, and showing how those dishes can be cooked on a boat with limited space and resources. We're sharing our adventures as a sailing couple living on a boat and how it’s possible to live an alternative lifestyle that provides freedom and fulfillment. We have set off on our voyage sailing around the world, exploring the beautiful waters of South Florida, the Florida Keys, Bahamas, and the US East Coast. Where did Alf take us to?? Well... This island was not on our list of places to stop, but after a couple recommendations we decided to see what it had to offer. We carry on sailing and move along the windward islands from Tobago Cays to the BEAUTIFUL island of Bequia!! We had never heard of Bequia before then and after a few recommendations we managed to squeeze in a quick stop and boy was it an incredible surprise for us all. Maybe because we never heard of the island before we didn’t have any expectations on it’s beauty. The balance of happiness, tranquility and party life on Bequia is what really stood out to us and will always remain a special place to us three. We test a new anchor, we have new sails and fly our new symmetrical spinnaker for the first time. We wanted to try the new anchored while anchored, so Pierre swaps anchors under water. We compare our old Mantus with a new Mantus anchor and conclude the older model with the roll bar is much better. We traded away our new anchor, preferring to keep our old one. These are our final days In Martinique as we prepare for crossing the Panama Canal to the Pacific side. About the anchor: We thought we needed a new anchor because the tip of our Mantus was a bit bent. We ordered a new Mantus and found it just did not work as well as the old one with the roll bar. About the spinnacker: We wanted a better downwind set up before heading into the Pacific. We show our method for taking down a spinnaker. Well, I think I've found it. The Kinetic KC54 to me, is the gold standard in production performance cruising catamarans. From the forward cockpit and helm station, to the little things like the obvious quality of craftmanship, this boat is on another level. I'm head over heels in love. Now, how can I go about being able to afford this boat? Well, now there's the catch. What do you think? Sept. - Vídeo do problema https://youtu.be/Fmhi7l-yJXo - insta do Fernandão https://instagram.com/barconenecao?utm_medium=copy_link - insta do Sailing Touché https://instagram.com/sailingtouche?utm_medium=copy_link ——— Eu sou o Fabio Gameiro, instrutor Náutico. -____________________________________________________________________ 🌴⛵Curso completo, separado em 12 módulos, que mostra o passo a passo de como você pode começar a sua vida do mar de forma simples e garantida! This is the video in a series about the restoration of 100 year old historic wooden yawl Pantagruel by her owner German captain Micha. Pantagruel sunk in tropical cyclone Yasa in Fiji in December 2020, but Micha refused to let that be the end of Pantagruel and spent the next year bringing her back to life. In this video Micha guides us through all the systems he had to renew. I’ve split this story into 6 parts: Part 1) The accident Part 2) Above deck - the restoration of the hull and above deck structures Part 3) Below deck - the restoration of the interior Part 4) The systems - fixing and replacing the systems (this episode) Part 5) Fiji - Micha’s reflections on restoring a boat in Fiji Part 6) The future - Micha’s plans for the future ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- A big thank you to Travel With Jaro for the footage of the cyclone ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- CRUISERS CORNER Hi we're Timo & Jo and one of the things we like the most about the cruising lifestyle is the people you meet and the stories they tell you. That’s why we decided to make this series called the Cruisers Corner to bring these stories to you. If you enjoyed this video please consider supporting me on Patreon https://www.patreon.com/SailingNV If you don't like Patreon but would like to chip in for a coffee or to help me upgrade my filming equipment, click here https://ko-fi.com/sailingnv Thank you! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Timo and I have a story of our own... last year we bought an Open 66 ft race sailing boat originally designed and built by the famous Hungarian sailor Nándor Fa, which he raced in the 1992 Vendée Globe (round the world single handed race known as “the Everest of the seas”), becoming the first non-frenchman to finish the race. We are currently in Fiji giving this old gladiator a new lease on life, transforming her from an ex race boat to a performance family cruiser, which we'll need to make both dog and baby proof! We’re planning to set sail again in Oct 2022, so with limited time&money we have plenty of challenges ahead to turn our dreams into reality&get back on the water! Check out our Refit Series to track our progress as we release videos about our journey. Never stop to dream, never stop to sail! I converted my milling machine into a CNC machine. The BF 28 milling machine is a tabletop milling machine and is well suited to convert to a CNC milling machine. The HBM BF 28 milling machine is identical with the Mathews precision PM-25MV. The conversion of this milling machine is not very complicated. You need the correct ball screws and stepper motors. The software I use to control my BF 28 milling machine is called Estlcam. Estlcam is a very good software if you want to start with CNC. With Estlcam you can use an Arduino microcontroller for CNC control. That makes the conversion to CNC cheaper and easy. Of course, you can also use Grbl if you want to do a CNC conversion with Arduino, but for a three-axis CNC mill, Estlcam is easier to set up.

We set off from Cape Tabolt bay before dawn to round the notorious Cape Londonderry. We timed our rounding to coincide with 12 hours tides that happen every 28 days and avoid the usually rough seas where tides collide. The picturesque Glycosomis Bay is our next stop, a perfect anchorage. The following day we visit the Lost City, and area rich in aboriginal rock art and culture. Moving on we reach the iconic King George River with its awe inspiring gorges, rock formations, walks and falls. Almost a spiritual experience, very hard to truly capture in pictures and words.

The Dubai International Boat Show is the most important and oldest boat show in the United Arab Emirates and the Middle East. The ultimate luxury and lifestyle event, this year’s edition took place from March 9 to 13 (it was canceled in 2021). The show happens in a perfectly located marina in the heart of the city. In the multihull section, many compact powercats were on show, and some shipyards that build larger units were also exhibiting, but without multihulls actually on display (this will be for future editions!). The star guest of the show should have been the 80 Sunreef Power Eco... but still being unloaded from the deck of a cargo ship and in customs clearance at the time of writing.
