We sailed to the first greek island and realized when we got there our engine was leaking and pouring water into our boat flooding the bilge area and under all the floor boards, Austin find the problem and fixes it. Austin goes swimming with Jellyfish and other small fish at a white sandy beach. Out sailing and get stuck in swells. Austin didn't brush his hair for two weeks and gets a massive matt and makes Bayly brush it out. Sailing around the Mediterranean on our 37 foot sailboat.
Washing the salt water off our dog Lenny with fresh water. Bayly does Laundry in the sea. We keep having to motor and take our sails down because of the unpredictable winds. Finding shipwrecks and dingy ing over to them to explore. We arrive in the beautiful town of Papadopoulou or our way to sail the Greek islands.

A true performance sailboat needs more than just great design. It requires special building techniques that maximize stiffness and minimizes weight. This is what allows our HH Catamarans to sail in incredibly light air or to push the boat hard in heavy air. But don't try this with an ordinary cruising catamaran. You need a boat built for this type of sailing where no expense has been spared in strengthening and reinforcing the structure, daggerboards, mast and rigging to handle the loads associated with a true performance catamaran. Welcome to cruising with Performance, Luxury and Carbon Construction. Welcome to "Yachting Evolved." No comment ! In our 7 weeks of being "stuck" in the Abacos awaiting engine work, we visited 11 islands. At most of these anchorages we worked on boat projects as we awaited big storms to pass. We thought it might be helpful to see our opinion on each island we visited, what we saw and liked, and challenges we faced. This video is the bottom 8 islands that we visited. The next video will show the top 3. #sailing #sailboat #sailingprojects #abacos #bahamas #MARSHHARBOR NEW TO OUR CHANNEL? We are Eileen and Brown Councill. Welcome to our channel and a glimpse into our life adventure! 2020 was a year of uncertainty and change (for all of us, right?), but we overcame the challenges and decided it was time to chase our dream, to sail around the world! Did I mention that we had very NO sailing experience? Before leaving Qingdao, China, our home of 4 years, we sold almost all of our earthly possessions and started our international search to find the right sailboat that we would call "home." After 5 months of unanticipated twists and turns, we found what we were looking for, a used Leopard 44' Catamaran located in St. Lucia. So, here begins our journey, filled with unmatched excitement and honestly, a bit of trepidation as well. We have much to learn as we travel the world on our floating home and we intend to document that journey and share it with you. We are so glad you have decided to join us, and we hope that you will find our story so compelling that it will inspire you to chase your dreams too! As a viewer, we consider you to be part of our family and look forward to getting to know you. Don't hesitate to comment on our videos and ask questions. We will do our best to answer every correspondence! All we ask is that you have patience with us as we work really hard to improve our camera/video techniques and ability to tell a story. Hopefully, you will be as BLOWN AWAY from watching, as we are in experiencing and producing our adventures! HOW CAN YOU SUPPORT US? If you wish to support our video efforts, all we ask is that you SUBSCRIBE, give a THUMBS UP, SHARE our videos with your friends, AND COMMENT! WOULD YOU LIKE TO GET TO KNOW US MORE DEEPLY? Our jib sail furler gets messed up heading into beautiful Conception Island. How do you screw up the only sail you can fly? We figured out a way. Conception Island is breathtaking. Parrot fish looking up at me as I swim with them, thinking 'whatthef@ckare you? Long reefs, teaming with life. A beach that's got to be experienced to be believed, and me, Lisa, meeting my first reef shark, a lemon shark as big as me! Pop some corn, pour your favourite beverage and settle in. This is our longest video in a while. The beauty of this place cannot be exaggerated. We tried to capture as much as we can, so this is not a quick hi-lite reel. This island, her reefs and beaches, need to be savoured. Relax, feel the vibe, and count how many times you see me flinch while I hang out with my first reef shark! We really wanted to share everything with you, but YouTube can be limiting to creativity. That's why we've finally taken the giant step of launching our Patreon channel. We have even more detailed versions on Patreon. Uncut, uncensored, less YouTube friendly. We will be formally announcing more about the difficult decision we made to move forward with Pateon in the coming days. More content is being posted there for our patrons as I write this. I'm also going to start publishing my own personal thoughts and feels on our new website with the release of our blog page. I've debated publishing these, because they're very personal to me, but sharing with you is the point to all of this. There's a lot going on. Buckle up. Lisa Don't forget to Like, Subscribe, Share!... and ring the notification bell so YouTube might actually let you know when we release our new videos. Join us on this adventure of a lifetime.
Stuck in Brazil without money and solar power Arriving in Brazil we were faced with what seemed to be a mountain of issues - we lost both of our mppt charge controllers on the passage, one before getting to Fernando de Noronha and the second, shortly after arriving in Brazil. I had locked up my bank account, a week after getting here and with what seemed like no way to fix the issue remotely, we were beginning to think we were going to have to fly back to South Africa to sort it out. Which in itself was an issue because we couldn??t access money to buy the air ticket 🤷🏻♀️🤦🏼♀️. The list of issues just went on and on - needing to replace one of the propellers and find a new one, our crash lockers in the front of the boat had filled with water during the crossing and needed investigating, we cracked the bottom portion of one of the fuel/water seperators and need to repair it until we could get a new one because with no solar power, due to not having mppt controllers, we were having to run our engines daily to top up the batteries. Finding affordable charge controllers was an absolute mission! So this episode serves as a warning to some and just shows a portion of the fact that yachting life is not all cocktails and bikinis but comes with a huge amount of stress also.
A couple of last minute adventures with and without the kids! We even take the dogs on their first trip! The weather has been affecting our ability to finish the truck, but we don't want to put off having family fun because of a few missing creature comforts.
After an unexpected problem with our Ocean Signal MOB1, we decided to go through all our safety gear to ensure everything is organized and in working condition. In this week’s video you’ll also see an average day at the dock- coffee, cleaning, and cocktails! We dive deep this episode into what it takes to change motor mounts on a marine Diesel engine. Increased vibrations felt throughout the boat were a sign that the 44 year old mounts on our Bukh DV20 needed replaced. Katy heads off to work on Trio, and Andre helps me with the job. After a day of work we celebrate a job well done. Winds in the anchorage pipe up and we decide to brave a dinghy ride to shore for respite. Katy and I find a beautiful part of Miami Beach called Espanola Way, and shower in the rain for some cold therapy to end the day. We leave the San Blas after cruising the tropical paradise for a whole two months - It feels too short but a canal crossing is on the horizon! We haul anchor, set the Spinnaker and zoom off following Delos our buddy boat. It’s a lovely passage and after several hours of sailing we arrive into a pretty spot called East Lemon Banadup, one of the western most islands in the San Blas. This will be our jump off point for the next leg of the voyage but before then we’ve got time to squeeze in one more dive before our official last day is over so we check out a shipwreck at nearby Dog Island which boasts crystal clear water and an abundance of fish and coral. Early the next morning we set out as the sun rises and Bill sets up the code zero. Its a beautiful morning and conditions are perfect for sailing. We reflect on our journey thus far since today will be our last passage in the Atlantic Ocean for who knows how long. We’ve spent the last six years and over 30,000 miles in this body of water and in it experienced many defining milestones. Bill’s first blue water sail in December 2016, crossing from the Chesapeake Bay to the USVI’s with his good friend Ryan, for one. Following this Bill sailed solo around the Caribbean getting as far south as Grenada while Grace worked another year. He next sailed back to NYC to pick Grace and two good friends up for a buddy boat sail down to the Bahamas. And then it was off to the Caribbean before eventually crossing the Atlantic Ocean to the Azores. We tore ourselves away from the enchanting islands - to date our favorite place we’ve cruised - to meet Grace’s sister Molly in in Lisbon, officially completing our Atlantic Crossing. Afterwards, we spent a few months in Southern Portugal and Spain before running out of visa time, escaping to Gibraltar and finally beginning yet another new journey - Our YouTube Channel. The rest is history (136 episodes later!) and it all culminates in our exit from the Atlantic and entrance into the break wall for the Panama Canal . . . with the breeze up at 20 knots it feels appropriate given our sailing history! When we’re seconds from entering the break wall a giant tanker decides to get underway unexpectedly and forces us to do a huge circle in the choppy and confused seas. Unfortunate timing but it doesn’t stop us from completing our passage and finally entering the calmer waters behind the break wall at Shelter Bay Marina. ~-~~-~~~-~~-~- Enjoying our channel?
