It was an emotional close to another regatta within the RS Games yesterday! The inaugural RS Aero Youth Worlds concluded, and we celebrated all the talented young men and women that had battled it out in their RS Aero's to be crowned youth world champions! The RS700's and RS800's had to switch modes hard from the day before, with a light shifty breeze across the course it was a challenging mental day on the water. The RS400's and RS Vareo Classes kicked off their regattas. They raced inside the harbour too with tricky, shifty conditions. Vi seglar vidare på kanalen mot Vättern. Vi seglar genom sjön Viken till Brosundet och där börjar det mycket smala! Gamla "dragvägar" som vi åker i, nära stenmurar... När vi kommer till Forsvik så filmade jag inte, tyvärr. Sedan var vi ju framme i Karlsborg! På Vättern ska vi segla mest norr om Karlsborg, för där finns fin skärgård. Wir segeln weiter auf dem Kanal zum Vätternsee. Wir segeln durch den See Viken nach Brosundet und dort beginnt es sehr eng zu werden! Alte "Schleppwege", auf denen wir fahren, in der Nähe von Steinmauern... We varen verder over het kanaal richting het Vätternmeer. We varen door het Vikenmeer naar Brosundet en daar begint het erg smal te worden! Oude "jaagwegen" waar we over rijden, bij stenen muren... We sail further on the canal towards Lake Vättern. We sail through lake Viken to Brosundet and there it starts to get very narrow! In today's video, we start our journey South back to Georgetown stopping at Little Farmers Cay to take in the cave, some great snorkeling and flat seas. What beautiful days. And, I had an amazing encounter with two spotted eagle rays who circled me a few times before heading into the blue. Magical. We had to leave for Georgetown a few days early so Marston could get a covid test and we also wanted to make sure we were situated before the big blow. The motor sail to Georgetown was pretty bad - the wind chop made the journey uncomfortable and the wind angle was all wrong for sailing. Brown and Marston slept most of the way, trying to ward off seasickness. We were very thankful to drop anchor in Elizabeth Harbor near the Monument Statue. We took an afternoon to hike the hill and then form our boat name out of rock, joining those who have come before us. Our time with Marston could not have been better and it was hard to say goodbye to her after only 9 days.
