As we sail south towards Portugal, we will encounter a range of weather conditions, from calm and peaceful waters to strong winds and rough seas. Take these tours with us and see what we'd take a pass on and what we wish we could incorporate, as we tour the catamarans on display at the Annapolis Spring Boat Show. Last weekend we attended the 2023 Annapolis Spring Boat Show, and once again, tried to get aboard as many catamarans as possible to get ideas from them. The first time we did this was in October 2022, only 7 months into the build, and we were completely overwhelmed with all that still had to be done. Now we're much closer to having to make decisions on items we're going with, so we can either purchase and install them, or design around them. Unfortunately the boats presenting at the spring show were not built in the same way as ours (foam cored fiberglass), so they were able to get away with a lot more wood, veneers, and vinyl than we are. But we can still pay attention to lights, blinds, color schemes and more.

We had such a fun time this week in Guadeloupe islands! We love swimming in the beautiful blue water and relaxing on the sandy beach. After spending some time there, and a lot of shopping, we decided to sail right down the corner to another island to see all the beautiful places and learn about it's history. During our stay here we became friends with an amazing French family and we kept exploring a bunch of places together. The kids had a lot of fun harvesting coconuts and playing with their kids. The towns were beautiful and had a very interesting history! Later in the week we and our new friends went on an adventure to find a Geocache. It was super fun! La dérive est déjà installée et l'étape de ressuage réalisée. En effet, dans le but de contrôler l'étanchéité des soudures, un liquide rose est appliqué à l'intérieur et une mousse blanche à l'extérieur de la coque. Si aucune trace rose ne se révèle par capillarité, les soudures sont étanches. Sinon, il faut réaliser la soudure à nouveau où le rose apparaît. La coque sera complètement nettoyée pour éliminer les traces de ce contrôle. A suivre : l'assemblage du pont et du cockpit. - - - We take advantage of the construction of the OVNI 430 number 2 to share this impressive step that we had not filmed for number 1. Here is the reversal of the hull of the OVNI 430. The lifting keel is already installed and the hull watertightness control is done. Indeed, in order to check the tightness of the welds, a pink liquid is applied inside and a white product on the outside of the hull. If no pink trace is revealed by capillarity, the welds are sealed. Otherwise, the weld must be made again where the pink appears. The hull will be completely cleaned to eliminate traces of this control. Next step : the assembly of the deck and the cockpit.

Im Rahmen der Sportküstenschifferschein (SKS) Ausbildung waren wird mit der Vereinsyacht Ventus auf dem IJsselmeer, Wattenmeer und der Nordsee unterwegs. Von unserem Heimathafen Stavoren ging die Reise nach Makkum. Am zweiten Tag ging es dann durch die Schleuse Kornwerderzand raus aufs Wattenmeer mit einer Übernachtung auf Vlieland. Am dritten Tag dann zurück ins IJsselmeer nach Medemblik um am letzten Tag wieder zum Heimathafen zurückzukehren.
