Neste episódio, me despeço de Paraty após 9 anos de #SAL e sigo rumo ao norte pela costa brasileira. Passei oito meses em Paraty, realizando diversas melhorias no veleiro, incluindo revisão do motor, manutenção do quadrante e conserto de um guincho. Minha primeira parada após Paraty foi em Bracuhy, onde Rafael e Aline da Renew Boats me auxiliaram com um vazamento no veleiro. Prossegui para a Praia do Bomfim, em Angra dos Reis, onde encontrei meu amigo Abbiten e visitei a histórica Capela do Senhor do Bonfim. Construída em 1875, a capela tem uma rica história e lendas locais, sendo um ponto turístico popular na área. A comunidade local se une anualmente para cuidar e restaurar o local sagrado. What's for dinner? Chicken pot pie is a favorite of ours, but oven cooking on a sailboat in the warm Caribbean can really heat things up. Instead we try out the Omnia stovetop oven, with good success. Our savory creamy recipe, topped with Irish Soda Bread is detailed below. Olive oil Fresh thyme (or dried) Salt and pepper to taste 1/2 cup Crema or heavy cream or make a white sauce. Flour or cornstarch for thickening Soda Bread topping 2/3 cup milk 1 tbs. White vinegar 1-1/3 cup all purpose flour 1 tbs. White sugar 1/2 tsp baking soda 1/2 tsp salt Season the chicken with the salt and pepper and thyme. Add 1/4 cup water, 1/4 cup white wine and the olive oil to a non-stick skillet and heat until near boiling, then add the chicken. Turn the heat to medium, cover and poach the chicken until just done through, about 10-15 minutes depending on thickness of the breasts. In the meantime prepare the vegetables. Once chicken is done, remove and set aside to cool. Reserve the cooking liquid. Add a splash of olive oil to the pan and soften the vegetables for about 10 minutes over medium heat. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Add 3 tablespoons of flour to the veggies and cook for a couple of minutes. Add the reserved cooking broth and simmer the thickening broth. Shred the chicken and add to the veggie mixture, mixing in thoroughly. Turn down the heat and add the Cream or cream. Mix well Don’t over-cook! Turn off the heat, and set aside while you Prepare the soda bread topping: Combine milk and vinegar and set aside for 10-20 minutes. This creates a buttermilk substitute. Mix dry ingredients in a bowl. Stir in the milk slowly, mixing with a fork, until a sticky dough is formed. Turn dough onto floured board and knead lightly 3 or 4 times. Now add the chicken- veg mixture to the Omnia oven cooking ring, either in the liner or directly to the metal pan. Make golf-ball sized chunks of dough, flatten and place onto the chicken mixture that’s in the preheated Omnia Oven. The Party is OVER! In 2 days ~ No more unlimited Starlink in the ocean We all knew this day was coming we just didn’t expect it to be so harsh. Starlink has dropped their Monopoly hammer and has put together a new service for us sailors. Yes, they do have a Mariner plan available, but the cost of that is way out of reach for the large majority of people on boats. We have until May 9th to choose our next service plan and to be honest I’m not 100% sure what we are going to do. The coverage info is very grey and I think it is going to end up being a, try it out and see kind of situation. Being digital creators is how we are making money for our cruising kitty. We love sharing our adventures with you. This is how we stay connected with friends and family, do weather routing and trip planning, research for boat repairs and let’s be honest keep up with social media, but the list goes on and on. We also had plans to start working at remote companies online. These things are now very difficult thing to accomplish. You may remember a few episodes back, our engine failed leaving our berth in Plymouth, to a blockage in the fuel tank. Her fırsatta direğe çıkmak en büyük keyfim ama işler okyanus ortasında pek bildiğim gibi değilmiş. Ben biraz sallanırım, tutunmakta sıkıntı yaşarım ama iş yürür dye düşündüm. Hava sakin, dalgalar küçük olmasına rağmen direk rodeo gibiydi. Sürekli beni üzerinden atmaya çalıştı. Üstüne üstlük yıllardır ilk defa deniz tuttu. Midem azımda direğin tepesine ulaştım ve mandarı kesip yelkeni indirdim. St Vincent adası konusunda biraz endişeliydik. Bütün bu sıkıntıların üzerine en azından Cumberland güzel bir yer çıktı. Belki güzelin de ötesinde aynı ev, aynı Gökova gibi. Sakin denizde 3 tur daha direk tepesi yaptıktan sonra problemi çözdük. Cumberland'den Bequia'ya geçerken ilk defa sorunsuz bir seyir yaptık. Ufak tefek damlatmalar sayılmaz. Nachdem wir zu viert es gut geschafft haben den Parasailor zu setzten, versuchen wir es nun zu zweit. Natürlich ist Vorbereitung alles und wir haben sehr viele Wege gefunden wie man die Leinen nicht führen bzw. klarieren sollte. Aber jeder Versuch macht ja klug. Schön haben wir auch die Perfomace dokumentiert die nicht so gut ist wie erwartet. Entweder liegt es an der NEEL, am Segel oder der inkompetenz der Crew. Es wird sich mit der Zeit zeigen ob wir beim segeln fortschritte machen um das beste aus den Situationen heraus zu holen. On facebook I saw a post regarding one who wanted to sell a Bavaria 39. The boat was well equipped with everything I needed and to the right price, so I made an appointment to see the boat the upcomming weekend. The boat was located in the south part of Denmark at a island called Lolland. A very nice and spacious boat with two bathrooms and a lot of standing headroom all over the boat. The engine was a Volvo Penta D2-40 which is the medium size you can get for this boat model. Overall I liked the boat a lot but something I realized was it would not be an easy job to remove the mast every year. The boat was bought from new by a rich russian man and then sold in Porez Croatia to a Danish couple in 2016. The couple then sailed the boat home til Denmark and owned the boat from 2016 to 2020 where it was sold to it's current owners. standing headroom in saloon : 202 cm. my height : 183 cm. boat weight : 8283 kg. date of filming : April 2. 2023 price : 103877 US Dollars (700000 DKK)
