Small Mambas is the only tribe in Malekula Island in Vanuatu that has preserved their traditions and culture in a very similar way to the YAKEL tribe of Tanna. By the way the sense of health and happiness that we perceived while exploring Vanuatu is just unbelievable. When you compare with some other more "advanced" island groups as French Polynesia or Fiji you see much less obesity and better health both mental and physical in Vanuatu.

Losinwei Cascades in Malekula Island is one of the most beautiful tropical waterfalls where I have swam. They required a tough climb to get to, as we walked for one hour and half over slippery mud, rocks and roots, and many times wading in the river itself. The effort was truly worth while, as we enjoyed the swim as if there was no tomorrow.

The Noon Ocean 34 sailboats were built in Vancouver in the 70's and 80's. With a heavy duty hull, an enclosed prop, and a full keel, these boats were made for serious cruising. Here we had the opportunity to help get this sailboat ready for the summer season by cleaning its hull and changing one of the anodes. Even though this Noon Ocean was painted with ablative paint, it had quite a lot of algae growth due to sitting over fall and winter. Nothing our sponges can't handle though!
