I recently cruised on the MSC Virtuosa from Southampton to the Canary Islands and back again. It was an excellent experience, right up until we were called for disembarkation on our return to Southampton... The Border Farce, sorry Force were having a go-slow which backed passengers up and created an unpleasant and potentially dangerous situation in the baggage hall. It wasn't MSC's fault, but they could have done a lot more to take control of the situation. We are FORCED into an UNKNOWN Anchorage at NIGHT in an ELECTRICAL STORM and it's possibly the scariest and most dangerous thing we have had to do. We have never been to the anchorage, we have no moonlight and there are hazards everywhere. But we work through the risks and decide this is safer than continuing our passage. Electrical storms whilst sailing are scary, dangerous and pose a serious threat to the vessel and crew. Last week we moved from the busy Marmaris, where we spent few weeks to very picturesque and quiet bay next to Datca - small touristy town where we got to visit our friend. Now we are on a move again - we heard from our friends about all these cool places where the boats dock right next to the restaurant - what a cool experience. Just around the corner where we are there’s quite a few of them! The sail is fairly short, only couple of hours and it seemed that we had a perfect wind for that! Merhaba, Cabo Verde, Yeşil Burun Adalarına veda, okyanusa merhaba. Cabo Verde kendine has mimari yapısı, insanları, müziği ve lezzetleri ile gönlümüze taht kurdu. Burada uzun da kaldık. Türk teknelerini yolcu ettik biz de yolcu edildik. Son hazırlıklarımızı burada tamamladık. Yolculuğumuzda her adım bir diğerinden farklı ve benzersiz. Atlantik yolculuğumuz hayalini beslerken senelerce Afrika'dan okyanusa açılan kapı olarak bahsedildiğini dinledik ve bu kapının ağzına varabilme hayalini de hep besledik. Şimdi biz de buradayız.
