Plan your next charter with NauticEd Yachting Charters—we’ll match you with the right destination and boat, handle the details, and make sure you’re set up to charter with real confidence - https://www.nauticed.org/yacht-charters Planning a yacht charter (bareboat or crewed)? In this NauticEd video, a charter agent breaks down the most common charter mistakes that ruin trips—choosing the wrong destination, overestimating skill level, picking the wrong boat for your crew, under-budgeting, missing logistics, overpacking, overprovisioning, and poor crew leadership. You’ll learn how to match destination + difficulty + vacation vibe, reality-check your competence (not just your license/resume), choose the right layout/amenities for the people onboard (catamaran vs monohull, heads, A/C + generator), and plan the full trip cost (airfare, transfers, food, activities) so you’re not stressed on vacation. 00:00 - Intro 00:10 - Mistake #1: Choosing the wrong destination 00:51- Mistake #2: License ≠ competence (confidence for the Med / tight marinas) 01:34 - Mistake #3: Picking the wrong boat for your crew (comfort + layout) 02:48 - Mistake #4: Budgeting wrong (total trip cost: airfare, transfers, food, tours) 03:35 - Mistake #5: Logistics failures (passport/visa, arrive early, baggage risk) 04:13 - Mistake #6: Overpacking & Over-provisioning 04:58 - Mistake #7: Crew expectations (roles, workload, sailing hours) 05:34 - Bonus: Leadership as skipper (people management + trip success) #bareboat #sailingcharter #bareboatcharter #catamaran
Stepping aboard the Ferretti 1000 Skydeck at the Sydney Boat Show, PG highlighted one of the most sophisticated lighting integrations on the water. As the Australian representatives for 28 Italian marine brands, Gineico supplies and supports the majority of fittings throughout this vessel — from hardware to helm seating and, in this case, the lighting design. Instead of relying on large, high-glare downlights, the Ferretti features a refined ceiling system with integrated low-glare linear strips. The result is controlled, comfortable illumination that enhances visibility without reflection on the windows, creating an atmosphere more reminiscent of luxury residences and high-end hotels. For owners planning a refit, this approach shows what’s possible: modern lighting, advanced control systems, and elevated detailing that transforms a vessel into something truly exceptional. https://zurl.co/N1raW #gineico_marine #quick #quickitaly #quickgyro #quickgyrostabiliser #Yachts #Superyacht #marineaccessories #experience #madeinitaly #virtualshowroom #production #nauticalequipment #accessories #yacht #boat #lifestyle #luxury #elegance #italydesign #gyro #stabilizer #puRO #waterpurification
The 2026 Skyblade is here, and it might just be our best yet. If you’re into foil slalom, this one’s made with you in mind: fast, balanced, and tuned for full-throttle control when it counts. This year brings a few important updates. Re-angled battens and the all-new TekCam 3 system, now 30% lighter, help shift the sail’s center of effort and weight lower, making it feel more settled and reactive. The new clean-look graphic isn’t just for show either. It helps shave off unnecessary weight. And like all Loftsails, durability is baked in.

Spend a full day in the life with 🇧🇪 Olympic sailors Isaura Maenhaut & Anouk Geurts, competing in the 49erFX for Belgium and preparing to take on the world’s best. This video was filmed one day before the start of the 2025 World Championships in Cagliari, Italy, offering a rare behind-the-scenes look at how European Champions and multiple-time podium finishers prepare on the eve of a major championship. From the moment the day begins, it’s all about focus, detail, and balance. The morning starts with breakfast and honest conversations about managing injury so close to a key event, followed by meal prep and fridge stocking to make sure fueling is dialed in for the days ahead. Before heading out, Isaura and Anouk go through a mental and cognitive warm-up to activate focus and decision-making, along with a quick stretch to prepare their bodies for a long day on the water. Next stop: the boat park. You’ll see the rigging of the 49erFX, getting suited up and final checks before launching. On the water, the team trains at full intensity, using drones and VHF communication to fine-tune performance, speed, and coordination ahead of the championship. After sailing, recovery becomes the priority. The afternoon includes massage and physiotherapy to manage load and stay healthy through a demanding regatta. The day wraps up with making dinner, a detailed briefing with the coach, and reflecting on the session—followed by a well-earned gelato in Cagliari. This is what elite sailing looks like behind the scenes: preparation, resilience, teamwork, and trust in the process. If you enjoyed this inside look at high-performance sailing, don’t forget to like, subscribe, and follow along.

In this video Harken Engineers and two sailors on the British sailing team discuss the new system. This year, the entirely new Harken ILCA vang system makes its debut. All three components are upgrades from our existing system that remains the ILCA/Laser Class standard after more than 20 years. The upper block is now a 25mm Fly Block with stainless balls and a unique pin shaped and angled to remain in place even under zero tension. The middle double block is in fact a Zircon Fiddle Block with a unique twist (we call it the 'twiddle' in Pewaukee). The lower unit is also distinctive. Every sheave is larger in diameter for more power and wider for less friction, so the unit will better enable today's increased vang loads. -- Visit Harken 👉 https://bit.ly/Harken_

The 7-10-7 Rule — An Old Boatbuilder’s Trick for Perfectly Rounding a Spar In this episode of Nomad Boatbuilding, I share a simple geometric method that replaces repetitive math when shaping spars by hand. Some people think wooden boat building requires complicated calculations. That can be true when designing boats — but building them is another story. In practice, geometry is often far more useful than math. The 7-10-7 rule is a straightforward way to divide the face of a square into proportional sections (7 units, 10 units, 7 units — 24 in total). By removing the corners at those marks, we quickly create an accurate octagon. Repeat the process and we move from square to octagon to 16 sides… and eventually to a smooth, round spar. In this video I cover: • How the 7-10-7 rule works • Why imperial rulers make scaling easy • Turning square stock into an octagon • Moving from 8 sides to 16 sides • Using (and making) a spar gauge • Applying the method to tapered spars • Why geometry beats repetitive calculation • Using the same principle for moldings, banjo necks, plugs, and even walking sticks This method works for squares, rectangles, trapezoids, and tapered spars. It’s one of those core pieces of traditional boatbuilding knowledge that makes shaping round forms efficient, accurate, and satisfying. 🌐 Website: https://www.nomadboatbuilding.com 📸 Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/nomadboatbuilding 🛠 Support these videos on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/nomadboatbuilding If you value traditional boatbuilding knowledge and want to help keep these videos coming, consider supporting the channel on Patreon. ⏱ Chapters: 00:00 Introduction — What Is the 7-10-7 Rule? 00:43 Geometry vs Math in Boatbuilding 01:01 Turning Square Stock into an Octagon 01:24 How the 7-10-7 Division Works 03:56 Demonstration on a 6x6 Cross Section 06:24 From Octagon to 16 Sides 08:08 Applying the Rule to Rectangles & Trapezoids 11:17 Using the Rule on a Tapered Spar 12:37 Spar Gauges Explained 14:41 Imperial vs Metric Scaling 16:08 Making an Octagonal Plug for a Hollow Mast 17:38 Planing to the Lines by Hand 18:50 A Simple Tape Trick for Divisions 20:19 Beyond Boatbuilding — Banjos & Walking Sticks 21:14 Why This Method Works So Well #woodenboat #boatbuilding #sparbuilding #woodworking #handtools #traditionalcraft #geometry #DIYwoodworking #NomadBoatBuilding #MarkReuten

Learn the "How" to anchoring with NauticEd's Anchoring Course - https://www.nauticed.org/sailing-courses/view/anchoring-a-sailboat?utm_source=youtube&utm_medium=video&utm_campaign=F_4Ano5PUBM Check out IMTRA the windlass experts - https://www.imtra.com Adding a chain inspection to your annual pre-launch checklist could be the difference between a reliable anchoring system and one that fails when you need it most. This video walks through everything you need to inspect on your anchor chain, rope, and splice before the start of every sailing season — and what to do when you find a problem. What this video covers: - How to lay out and inspect your chain link by link, and what wear, corrosion, and pitting look like - Why pitted chain must be replaced and when re-galvanizing is worth considering versus buying new - How to wash down your ground tackle dockside and why rinsing out salt regularly extends the life of your entire rode package - Why the backsplice joining your rope and chain must be inspected every single year for flexibility, fraying, tail separation, and elongation - Why a gap is intentionally left in the splice when it is first made, and how nylon shrinking around the first chain link causes windlass problems over time - How to restore flexibility to a stiff splice using your hands, a mallet, or a flathead screwdriver without causing any damage - How fabric softener in cool water can restore the flexibility of a stiff rope and extend its working life - How to double the life of your rope by cutting off a worn splice at the working end and re-splicing from the bitter end Annual inspection takes an hour on the dock. Skipping it can cost you your anchor at sea. ► The AY60 we discovered at La Grande-Motte is destined for crewed charter work: this powercat, making its world premiere at the show, is already scheduled to head to Split, Croatia, for its summer season. ► The Thailand-based builder Adventure Yachts offers a very modern design with this new model, featuring inverted bows. Notable features include two 300 HP diesel outboard engines and a displacement that is particularly light for this category (just 18.5 tons) achieved thanks to its relatively fine hulls and, in particular, the meticulous glass/epoxy and carbon/epoxy construction. ► The AY60 offers optimal self-sufficiency when it comes to energy thanks to its 8 kWp solar panels and 1,800 Ah 48-volt battery. The powercat also boasts a range of 3,000 nautical miles at 8 knots. ► The series includes the AY60 Sport and AY60 Flybridge versions, available with hybrid or outboard diesel engines. Three further hulls are already in build. ► Technical Specifications: Builder: Adventure Yachts Length: 60’4” (18.4 m) Beam: 27’9” (8.47 m) Displacement: 40,800 lbs (18.5 t) Motors: hybrid or outboard diesel Maximum speed: 22 knots Cruising speed: 16 knots Long-distance speed: 8 knots (3,000 nm range) Cabins: 4 + 2 crew ► Sign up for our newsletter and win a free two-month subscription to Multihulls World by clicking here: https://bit.ly/48JP1Vk ► Become a FREE SUBSCRIBER to Multihulls World's YouTube page now - https://www.youtube.com/c/MultihullsWorld ► Log on to our website to discover over 600 multihulls tests! Time to upgrade the anchor setup on Marisa. ⚓ In this video, I replace the old anchor chain with a new one, measure it before installation, and set everything up properly for safer anchoring. I also show how I connect the chain to the rope (warp) with a splice, and finally secure the bitter end correctly — something that definitely needed improvement on the original setup. 👉 In this video: Replacing the old anchor chain Measuring before installation Chain-to-rope splice (chain + warp) Securing the bitter end properly Small upgrades that make a big difference when anchoring Simple jobs like this can massively improve safety and confidence when dropping the anchor. ⚓ Sailing Marisa — real sailing, practical upgrades, and life onboard. 👍 Like & subscribe if you enjoy real boat work and sailing content! 00:00 New chain for Marisa 00:16 Measuring the new chain 03:00 Marking the chain 04:36 Chain-to-rope splice (chain + warp) 08:05 – Removing the old anchor chain 16:04 the bitter end 17:43 installng the new chain 24:16 END 🔥 HASHTAGS #SailingLife #BoatMaintenance #AnchorChain #Anchoring #SailingTips #BoatProjects #Liveaboard #SailingChannel #BoatLife #CruisingLife #DIYBoat #SailingMarisa #OceanLife #SailboatLife #MarineDIY #HUNTERLEGEND Special thanks to @konikoni123 Join this channel to get access to perks: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCFuWfLVgIBL6JzolbRqefXw/join
