In this episode I spent a session with Rod West, owner/skipper of Another Painkiller (a Beneteau First 44.7) and Philip Bell, owner/skipper of She (an Olsen 40) and we reflected on our preparation and race experience and did a post mortem of our entries in the 2017 Rolex Sydney Hobart Race, our race results and the things we all did differently. 2017 was the first year that the Southport Yacht Club had seen 3 of its members enter this iconic ocean race and the conditions were amongst the best in the 73 year history, with the line honours record tumbling by several hours for the second year in a row. Cominciamo a ballare parecchio e prendiamo una seconda mano. Durante il mio turno di riposo malgrado che ho la cuccetta a favore è impossibile dormire, siamo come in una lavatrice Il vento continua ad aumentare ancora con raffiche a 45 nodi e si decida per la terza mano e trinquetta Purtroppo il bozzello si e staccato e non possiamo usare la terza mano: Giu tutta randa e finiamo la notte con solo trinquette. Al sorge del sole ci accorgiamo che questo 100 piede rimbalza sulle onde di 5m come un piccolo guscio di noce. Mi viene da pensare a i due ragazzi sul 35 piedi. Passano le ore.

Originally planned to be held aboard ship, the class was moved online due to COVID-19 restrictions. The seminar uses SSV Oliver Hazard Perry and the lessons of the maritime industry to explore innovation, creativity, and resilient communities. This livestream was held on WebEx. Riding towards the sunset on tarmac & gravel. Lots of parts came out badly underexposed, but I cobbled something together from the ok bits, there's still some decent scenery in there. The gravel road was pretty smooth after the winter, with very little actual gravel on the surface. It feels like you're going a million on roads like these. Some shadowy parts were wet and soft, and I had to watch out for rabbits and deer.
