Matt Andrews started sailing on Moreton Bay with his dad as an 8 year old in the 1970’s on a Mirror dinghy followed by a 125, before moving to Balmain in Sydney and buying a Sabot before making the jump, as a 15 year old, to 16 foot skiffs. He then left school and started sail making in Sydney before moving to Denmark and talking his way into a job with North Sails and eventually making sails for 100 foot yachts. Norths moved Matt to Spain, which opened up the opportunity to make sails for the Telefonica Volvo 70 campaign, before moving to the Americas Cup sail loft in Valencia in 2007. A chance introduction with an Emirates Team NZ (ETNZ) member, led to Matt being employed by ETNZ a year later. Matt shares first hand lessons about kiwi creativity, resourcefulness and leadership he learned from his time at ETNZ. This led to his next campaign as sail maker with Ken Read’s Puma Volvo Campaign in 2008/9 and then Telefonica Team in 2011/12. Matt reflects on his time, incredible career, sailing lessons and his recent change of role to father, sail loft owner and dinghy sailor on the Tweed River in New South Wales, Australia. Traverser le Gulf Stream est une étape incontournable et la dernière entre nous et notre objectif de voyage, les Bahamas. Après avoir rempli le bateau on décide de passer par la mer pour s'éviter bon nombre de ponts à faire lever et surtout la navigation à moteur dans l'intracostal. Les vents de l'Ouest et du Nord nous permettent de faire le voyage sans s'arrêter à West Palm Beach, dans une traversée magnifique des eaux profondes du Gulf Stream aux eaux cristallines des Berry Islands. Il faut cependant bien préparer ces navigations et choisir des vents favorables. De forts vents avec une composante Est feront levée de la houle venant de loin. Les vents du Nord pour traverser le Gulf Stream feront de la vague pointue contre le courant constant d'environ 3 kn qui vient du Sud. Lorsqu'on décide de traverser le Gulf Stream comme nous l'avons fait avec une composante de vent du Nord, c'est bien car on peut viser une traversée à 90 degré qui ne nous remonte pas trop vers le Nord. Avec des vents de plus 15 kn venant du Nord, la mer est définitivement plus sportive. Ce qui est souvent recommandé et plus facile est de descendre plus au Sud de la Floride, attendre peu de vent ou un vent du Sud pour remonter vers Bimini ou Cat Island. Mais nous étions impatients de rejoindre les Bahamas ;-) Il y a plusieurs ports d'entrées aux Bahamas. Nous avons choisi les Berry Island car nous voulions amorcer nos vacances à cet endroit. Il faut savoir qu'à Chubb Cay, c'est un port privé et qu'il nous a fallu payer des frais assez salés pour s'accoster et dédouaner. After anchoring in Honeymoon Lake and Lagoon 21, we travel another 20 nautical miles and tuck into our sixth anchorage (Pine Island) on the Indian River where wildlife captivates us. We're Esther and Michael, an American couple with writing and photography backgrounds. In 2017, we sold our home in Atlanta and moved aboard a 1994 Island Packet 35 named Hope that needed some love (and boat work!). As we learn how to become better sailors, we’re exploring the Intracoastal Waterway and we’re especially interested in living small to gain abundance—cultivating sustainable living habits and having more time for nature and art! And we're learning about ways to 'live small' by reducing our waste footprint on and off the boat! Switch "saute" mode on your pressure cooker ( or just on a pan) and fry carrots and onions in a pot for 5 min with a punch of salt . 2. Put it in a bowl of minced meat and crush bread in. Add fried carrots and onions. Add salt, pepper, and herbs. Mix well. 3. Fry chopped bell pepper in a pot. Add tomato paste and stock, salt, and sugar. Simmer for 5 min. 4. While sauce simmering fills bell pepper with meat mixture. And after simmer is finished put bell peppers in a pot. 5. Use high pressure for 12 min and after 10 min natural release after this quick relies on Note: you may serve peppers with rice or potatoes. Auch wenn du nur wenig Zeit hast - es lohnt sich immer, für kurze Zeit hinaus zu gehen und in dich in der Natur in eine Aufgabe zu vertiefen! Dabei spielt es eigentlich keine Rolle, auf was du dich einlässt - in diesem Video findest du auch einige "banale" Beispiele. Entscheidend für das Training ist, dass dein Job deine ungeteilte Aufmerksamkeit hat. Wenn das klappt, kann alles andere entspannen und in die Natur entlassen werden. Was dann passiert, ist immer wieder erstaunlich und eigentlich ein kleines Wunder! Die Natur nimmt unsere Spannung, unseren Sturkopf, den Ärger und das Leiden und was es sonst noch alles an Negativem bei dir geben mag, in sich auf. Sie kann irgendwie damit umgehen, wie die Pflanzen und die Bäume mit dem CO2. Ich glaube, das ist der besondere "Reinigungseffekt", den die Natur uns bieten kann, speziell im Bushcraften, aber natürlich auch bei jeder anderen Beschäftigung da draußen, die dich absorbiert. Wunderbar finde ich auch, wenn du in der Übung wieder zum Kind werden kannst und dich zum Beispiel mit einem guten Essen belohnst, einem schönen Gedanken oder einem großen Kinderlob wie z.B.: Das hast du jetzt richtig gut gemacht! Auch eine Mini-Challenge - wie das in diesem Video vorgeschlagene Camp in 2 Stunden - kann dir helfen, erst mal mit deinen "Kopf mitzunehmen", damit auch dein rationaler Geist "im Wald baden" kann. Die benutzen Werkzeuge und Gear habe ich unter dem Video verlinkt.
