22. Juli 2025: wir segeln von Lipsi Hafen nach Arki. Wir entscheiden uns für eine türkise Bucht in Makronisi South. Wir konnten direkt Segel setzten und segelten Amwind fast bis in die Bucht. 10,9 sm Die Bucht ist ein Traum, daher bleiben wir eine weitere Nacht und fuhren mit dem Dinghi auch mal zu der Sandbank in der Tiganakia Bucht. 24. Juli 2025: Wir legen um 8:23 Uhr ab und können herrlich nach Agathonisi5 segeln. Mal mit 6 kn Amwind mal mit 2 kn Speed freuen wir uns über den schönen Tag. Kurz vor der Einfahrt böte es noch mal auf 18 kn. Wir haben das Glück in der Mitte vor dem Strand den Anker zu werfen. Es war ein wunderbarer Sandgrund mit türkisenem Wasser. Es wird mit den anderen Ankerern noch mal hektisch aber wir gehen gemütlich zu Georgs Taverne. Zu dem leckeren 45-Euro-Fisch gab es Mangold und Pommes. Nicht sehr raffiniert. Naja, wir können uns dem überschwänglichen Lob nicht anschließen. Die Nacht war windig und wir schwojeten einmal im Kreis. Obwohl der Meltemi begann, wollten wir hier nicht weitere Tage verbringen und so legten wir - wohl als einzige - ab und motorten nach Sami. Die Wellen waren riesig und der Wind hatte auch mal 30kn Böen. 12,8 sm Viel Spaß beim Ansehen. Die Videos sind für Familie, Freunde und Interessierte. With a special note from the chief granting us permission to visit the skull caves, we paddled 2 nautical miles to a sand cay to pick up our guide. He jumped on too, making it three of us in a single kayak — with the bung missing in the front. By the time we reached Little Panasia we were nearly going under. From there, we raced the tide on a scenic journey along sharp limestone cliffs, carved and shaped by the relentless embrace of the sea over countless years. Climbing up through the bush, we reached the hidden skull cave. We never imagined how many human bones would be inside. Their origins are shrouded in mystery — some believe they are remnants of ancestors who fell victim to sorcery, while others suggest they may belong to those consumed in times when cannibalism was still practiced. Intriguingly, many of the lower jaws were missing, perhaps taken as trophies during the days of headhunting, symbols of warriors’ prowess. On the way back, we were offered a ride on one of their traditional sailing canoes while two of our new friends paddled the kayak home. We couldn’t say yes quick enough. Soon we were sculling coconuts and setting off. It was a small canoe, just big enough for four of us. One man stood at the bow calling orders — wind changes, reefs to avoid, when to tack. Another steered at the stern with a massive paddle, half-held with his feet while also pulling ropes to shape the sail. The rest of us rotated bailing as we skimmed so close to the reef, dodging coral heads in the shallows. Back at our boat we jammed until sunset, then farewelled our friends with gifts to thank them for such an incredible day. After a very quick stop at the farm, we pack everything into the Land Cruiser and begin to make our way to Darwin to check on Nutshell. After checking in on SV Nutshell and making sure she's tickety-boo we do a quick turnaround and head south to Broome to start our tour guiding season in Kimberley. On the way we visit out the Durack Homestead, a historical cattle baron building which was relocated when the Ord River Dam Project flooded the land. We travel along the Ord River on a fast boat.
