Our 12th Annual Rally around the Islands of Loreto in the Sea of Cortez was a success! We had 11 boats join us this year and it was great to see old friends and make new ones! We kicked off the event with a Cinco de Mayo Meet & Greet party at Marina Puerto Escondido with taco bar, margaritas and live band. Day 1: The crew paraded out of the marina the next morning and headed to Yellowstone Beach at Isla Montserrat for a swim, snorkel, SUP and sunset beach BBQ. Day 2: The next morning we raced to Bahia Salinas on Isla Carmen and enjoyed a sunset dinghy raft up & happy hour onboard Balam. Day 3: Amazing Snorkeling and diving the shipwreck at Bahia Salinas in the morning followed by a downwind sail around Isla Carmen for a sundowner at Isla Coronado. We are Easy Day Adventures, a family of four taking one adventure at a time. In this video series we are pointing North to Prudhoe Bay, Alaska to go swimming up in the Arctic Ocean. Why? Because it’s there. Plus, it will make a great adventure for our growing boys who are learning how to dream BIG. Why not come along for the ride? Sometimes we live on our sailboat, other time we explore Terra Firma with our OVRLND rig. Either way, it’s always an adventure! In this video we joined up with our friends to spend three nights at their backcountry Alaskan cabin. Deshka Landing, near Willow, was our starting point, a boat and snowmobile launch on the Susitna River. Our friend Jack had arranged for a barge to take both of our families and all our gear to the cabin which required heading down the Susitna River and another 8 miles up the Yentna River. The boat ride was exciting and our river pilot expertly navigated each river exceptionally as he weaved his way through the gravel bars. Once arrived we settled in to learn about the area and how Jack had come across this unique property. Our time in the backcountry held several adventures. We rode ATVs several miles to their “neighbor’s” home, a classic Alaskan homestead set on 160 acres. There the kids picked berries and learned about growing food in remote Alaska. Another day trip was up to see the Yentna Station, the first checkpoint during the Iditarod Race from Anchorage to Nome. This is a business that provides lodging, food, fuel and liquid morale to anyone passing through this part of remote Alaska. The community in the Alaskan bush was larger than we had anticipated. We learned a lot about the area, the people, the dangers, and why so many people call this part of Alaska home. We hope you enjoy.

​ @the_reeva_project  Join us in Season 4 Episode 4 for an episode that had it all — history, storms, laughter, and one of the most challenging crossings in the world! We set sail from Pulau Besar, near the beautiful and historic Malacca City, and headed to Pulau Pisang — at the southernmost tip of the Eurasian continent. On reaching there, we planned a chilled “weekend evening” with the crew cooking the , cooking the worst food we’ve ever made on Reeva — so bad, it had to be thrown overboard! 😂 Still, with good company came lots of laughter, making it a memorable night. From Pisang we did a small hop to a seemingly sheltered anchorage between Johor Bahru and Singapore. Plan was to sleep early for a restful night and start our Singapore Straits passage at 0430 to catch the 3 knot tide. But the night was anything but peaceful, at 3 a.m., just hours before our planned crossing, a rain squall hit with winds of 35–40 knots. Our anchor dragged, the chain snagged, and the snubber broke — chaos in the dark. After two exhausting hours, we finally got things under control. What followed was one of the most challenging and beautiful seasons we’ve had, from early sail damage to a lightning strike that changed everything. From there the season took us through some of the most remote parts of the Bahamas, including the Ragged Islands, where we found some of the best diving we’ve ever experienced. Then everything changed. A lightning strike left us dealing with damaged systems, ongoing repairs, and trying to keep moving forward without the equipment we normally rely on.
