This week we are leaving Saint Martin and heading to Saint Barthélemy, or Saint Barth, as it is commonly referred. My Dad was with us for this adventure as we put both our sails up for the first time and explored a new island. We enjoyed snorkeling, seeing all the turtles, the sea life and downtown. We ran into some trouble when a fishing rope got bound up between the props and the rudders while we were underway… yikes! ***Sorry about the wind noise, better equipment is on the way!*** #lagoon #lagoon440 #caribbean #sailing #boatwork

We arrive in Grenada and talk some nautical terms on the way. Do you know why we call it Port and starboard instead of left and right? We face some same old problems and we walk through the main town. Finally Jacqueline will show you how to make a traditional breakfast street food. After sailing across the Atlantic, we decided to unwind and cherish some quality family time on the vibrant island of Martinique in the French Caribbean. We rented a car and embarked on a journey to discover the island's hidden gems. Our first destination was the Balata Garden, a lush sanctuary offering breathtaking views and an array of unique flora. As we wandered through the park, enveloped by vibrant greenery, the air filled with the sweet fragrance of flowers, and the symphony of nature surrounded us, creating memories we'll treasure forever. Eager for more adventures, we ventured to a nearby waterfall. Watching our little one, Adelyna, fearlessly wade into the chilly river brought smiles and laughter to all. These are the moments that make our journey truly unforgettable. As our sails caught the breeze, we charted a course for Marie-Galante, a charming slice of paradise nestled in the French Caribbean Islands, just off the coast of Guadeloupe. This island, known for its sugar cane fields, greeted us with its pristine sandy beaches and endless horizons. Our stay on Marie-Galante was brief, dictated by the whims of the weather. Nonetheless, it was a joy to reunite with our friends: Five Sailing and SummerTime 51, affectionately dubbed "The outremer gang." Our journey continued as we set sail for Saint-Francois in Guadeloupe, a haven for kite surfing enthusiasts with its crystal-clear waters and endless stretches of coastline. The thrill of adventure beckoned as we embraced the boundless possibilities of the sea. If there’s one place within Guadeloupe that is a true paradise with a capital P, Ilet du Gosier is it. It’s a Robinson Crusoe-style island that has swaying palm trees, small white sand beaches, amazingly clear turquoise and light green water, and Guadeloupe’s second oldest lighthouse dating back to 1929. We could not resist to go for a walk and explore the light house. While this video may lack the usual sailing content, we're eager to share this unique chapter of our journey with you. Despite the challenges of capturing every moment on camera, we believe in preserving these memories for the future. So, while we apologize for the deviation from our usual content, we hope you'll join us in savoring this special interlude. ___________________________________________________ About us: We are a family of 3, Lithuanian and French couple currently living in Dubai UAE with our daughter born in 2020, with the dream of circumnavigating the globe with a catamaran sailing boat. In 2018 until we decided to focus on our project sailing TELLUS (Latin word meaning “Earth”). We had the chance to visit and live in many beautiful countries with our previous jobs, that made us realize how fast the world is changing and how fast the life is going and there is no “later” than “now” for the project we have in mind. In early 2019 we took a one-week sailing courses that opened our eyes of new ways of travelling and changed our life style. In June 2020, we decided to sell everything we own, house, car and lot of stuff that we do not need anymore so that we can buy a sailboat and go for an undetermined voyage around the globe. We bought a catamaran Lagoon 450s delivered in France in July 2021. We have been sailing from La Rochelle to Gibraltar, then exploring the Mediteraneean in 2022 Spain, France, Italy, Greece. In November 2022 we arrived in Canaries Island then sailed to Cape Verde. On 19 December 2022 we set sail to cross the Atlantic Ocean from Cape Verde to Martinique in the Caribbean. After 13 days and 4 hours. We have reached Martinique and currently sailing in the Caribbean islands. We have sailed over 10000 NM so far with our catamaran Tellus. We decided to create this Sailing-Tellus website with the aim to build a community around sailing videos content creator. We invite you to share with us our adventures of learning, exploring and making our project come to life. Through our videos we hope to inspire to explore, seek alternative options of living and to spread ocean awareness. ___________________________________________________ Do you own a Sailing #Youtubechannel ? We make the short sail from St. Thomas to Culebra, leaving the USVI and entering the Spanish Virgin Islands. We really enjoyed visiting both Culebra and Vieques, they both have a very laid back feel. From Vieques it was another short sail to Puerto Rico where we visited San Juan and spent time cruising the south coast.

They're all alone in the driveway, in the dark... Lauren: Lenny, does Feather Duster have a Facebook page? Lenny: Boats can't have Facebook pages! Lauren: They absolutely can. I mean, how is Feather Duster or Writeaway going to know if people are tagging them in photos? Lenny: I didn't know it was possible! Lauren: And, they're missing out on tons of events they could go to, because they aren't getting the event invitations on Facebook. Lenny: Wait, can they get Twitter accounts too? Lauren: Absolutely, and really they should be hash-tagging about everything they're doing during the day. Whether they're fishing, or they're just idling, they should be hash-tagging on Twitter. Lenny: That it awesome. Lauren: Yeah, I think so, and before you know it we'll get everybody to be on Vine. Lenny: Huh...?

Do you like pizza? I’m ready to eat it anytime, anywhere! Now imagine my excitement when our Italian friend Maddy @maddyorfeo from @sailingsophisticatedlady said: “Let’s make pizza today!” Not just any pizza—real, authentic Italian pizza. And the best part? We’re in the middle of the Caribbean, on a boat, anchored in Bocas del Toro! As you know, I’m always on a mission to find the perfect pizza dough—the one that in Italy they toss effortlessly into the air, before creating culinary masterpieces. So when I saw Maddy tossing the dough like a pro, I couldn’t help but think: Mamma mia, I’ve found it! The ultimate pizza dough recipe! Maddy also revealed her 3 golden rules for perfect pizza dough: 1️⃣ Never mix yeast and salt directly. 2️⃣ Let the yeast activate on its own first. 3️⃣ Always stretch the dough by hand—no rolling pins allowed! Oh, and here’s a pro tip for pepperoni lovers: Your pizza is ready when the pepperoni edges curl up just perfectly! Want to try the ultimate pizza recipe? One that works anywhere—even in the Caribbean, even on a boat? Drop “Pizza” in the comments, and I’ll send you Maddy’s secret recipe that you’ll fall in love with!

Today is a big moment for the Spirit Formula 40 Trimaran project. After three years on the hard at Portland Yacht Services, Spirit is finally back in the water — and moving under her own power again. In this video, I take you step-by-step from the yard, off the dock, out through the Casco Bay Bridge, and into Fore Points Marina. It’s the first time Spirit has slipped her lines in years, and clearing that bridge means we now have a long, open runway ahead of us. Next stop: Boston. Spirit will be hauled there for the next stage of her revival and racing program. --- Upcoming Sponsor Events - Maxi 'Osprey' – Limited Places Available: – RORC Caribbean 600 -23 Feb 2026 – Antigua Sailing Week - 22 April 2026 – Newport Bermuda Race 19 June 2026 If you’re interested in joining an event (min sponsorship $3000 US) or exploring further RTW sponsorship options, contact me directly via: https//:www.CSMtheMariner.com Mariner Links If you'd like to buy a piece of the 100,000Nm mainsail that has pulled so faithfully these last 3000Nm, to get me here on time to start the Fastnet, please follow this link to Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/themariner/shop/own-piece-of-mainsail-that-would-not-die-1996232 If you'd like to gain access to live streams, competitions, win sailing trips, or purchase personal marine consultancy, please go over to: https//:www.patreon.com/themariner Sailing Podcasts If you prefer an audio format, try 'The Mariner Podcast', which now has a library of over 130 episodes, all over an hour and in granular depth about sailing technicalities, stories, interviews, and gear reviews. RSHYR 25 | John Curnow and Crosbie Lorimer discuss the unfolding battle at the front of the fleet with 4 line honours contenders within shouting distance of each other. They also talk about some very close mid-fleet contests for IRC overall.
2025 was the biggest adventure of our lives. We'd sold everything we own and bought a boat on the other side of the world. Here I've put together a compilation of our year. We leave Sydney Australia, to meet our boat Smile, in Croatia. We got set up, fixed a whole lot of things, spent longer in the Marina than we hoped while our registration came through, road tripped and had slow days. Then we finally headed south to export our electrical goods before doing our upgrades. We were learning as we went and saw some beautiful sights along the way. While we were on our way to Montenegro we get stuck in terrible winds, our generator broke, batteries weren't holding power and was an all round a terrible week. Montenegro. Some of the most picturesque landscapes I've seen. The Marina, Porto Montenegro was one of the best we'd seen throughout the whole year and we found some hidden gems along the way. We didn't plan to do our upgrades here but given our battery and generator troubles at the time, this is where we had to. A quick road trip to Bosnia while the electrician changed over the batteries, had us see the famous Mostar bridge and the stunning Kravica Waterfalls. Back to Montenegro and we haf our boat upgrades complete. We had our eyes on Greece for summer, but had to wait longer due to Visa reasons. While this almost drove us mad at some points, we had a beautiful period of about a month where us and a few other boats spent most days together and this was our first little sense of the sailing community. Sadly with sailing everyone has their own itineraries and eventually we parted ways. Some we were lucky enough to see again down the track, others we haven't... but hope to next season. Now with the boat self sufficient we couldn't wait to leave Boka Bay and explore more of the Montengrian coastline when weather allowed. Morale got quite low so we made the call to leave early. We had our buddy boat (who are absolute legends) and we were heading South towards Greece. We did our first over night passage and it felt surreal, intimidating and blissful all at the same time. Greece. The country that has our hearts. This really was a turning point in our journey. 3 days in and we met just our 3rd family boat since starting out. Little did we know just how close we all were going to become. Next stop, following our new friends to meet the rest of the family boats in the Ionian. To see over a dozen children in similar situations, but different nationalities and languages, playing together and living their best boat life was something else. We had our first guest come and the kids were over the moon to see Nanny. We hopped around seeing some of the best little Greek towns & islands. A short stint in Albania to balance the visa then back to Greece. During this last month or so we discovered two of our favourite anchorages. We met back up with our friends from Montenegro and enjoyed the last month of warmth. Winter is approaching and we are heading back to Australia to chase Sumner's. Smile is hauled out ready for winter. We Roadtripped to see Olympia & Acropolis before the journey home. Stop 1 Dubai. Some sand bashing, sight seeing then a little luxury at Atlantis. 2nd and final stop - Bali. Where we organised to meet some of our besties here and suprised the kids. Jet lagged and exhausted we enjoyed the sunshine, swims and company. Australia. Many hugs were had and tears shed. It was quite the adjustment but spending time with people we love made it easier. Camping, road trips, sand and waves saw out the end of the year. Let's see if 2026 can top this. If you're all up to date with out videos you've only seen up to the 14 minute mark. After this point will give you a little taster of what's to come for the rest of the season. Things are only on the up 🙌🩵 Want early access to our videos?
