On our sail to St Lucia a sudden strong current caused us to make almost no headway. Motor sailing had us at least moving in the right direction but is was a slow effort. Once we made it, we met a South-African couple living on the island and they invite us on a hike with a local expat hiking group. I eventually make it to Monopoli, but because I’m only allowed to stay one night at the public dock, I need to find a proper marina. We soaked up the beautiful sights of the city and caught up with Jude’s brother, who was visiting from California. Madrid really is stunning! In this episode we’re in full “get it done” mode as we race to finish three major projects before leaving on our next adventure with Helios! First up — after weeks of planning, parts ordering, and preparation, we finally complete the full installation of the Lookout AI Camera System. Watch the whole process come together as we get this powerful new smart system up and running.. LOOKOUT combines data from charts, AIS, computer vision, and radar, then fuses it into one intuitive, 3D augmented reality view. Next, we make some long-overdue custom cushions for Bob (our trusty dinghy) so he can rest comfortably and securely on the foredeck without damaging the deck or himself. And finally, with all gas appliances now removed from the boat, we completely redesign and reorganise the aft locker to make much better use of the space. The Raiatea Regatta Association To organize a yearly sailing party in the Leeward Islands of French Polynesia: that was the dream, twelve years ago, of the newly born Raiatea Regatta Association. Since then, the “TPR” has become the biggest sailing and festive regatta of the Pacific islands and a truly international nautical event. Open to all, monohulls of multihulls, whatever their size, the ‘TPR’ is co-organised by the Tahitian Sailing Federation, the Raiatea Regatta Association and Archipelagoes and is governed by the 2013-2015 ISAF racing rules. Providing an ideal balance between a sporting competition and a festive discovery of the islands, the TPR will take place between the islands of Raiatea, Huahine and Tahaa in 2015. At sea: lagoon and inter-islands races. On the shore: the TPR Village in Uturoa (Raiatea) and, of course, the famous themed evenings in each of the islands.
