Les bouches de Kotor en voilier? Vraiment à couper le souffle. On se dit que c'est surement notre top 1 des lieux les plus beaux qu'on est fait en termes de paysages, sur ton voilier au pied des montagnes c'est quelque chose quand même... On y fera la rencontre de deux amis Suisses qui voyage en vélo depuis quelques mois, on s'échange nos histoires de voyage autour d'un bon repas et on se dit au revoir. On récupère à Herceg Novi Margot revient à bord pour quelques semaines, le pied toujours marin elle retrouvera vite ses petites habitudes.On prend la direction de l'Albanie car nous avons rendez-vous avec Vangjel le 17 septembre. On fait les papiers de sortie dans la ville de Bar puis le soir même et décide de dormir à Ulcinj pour faire le test le lendemain et aller voir une connaissance de Clément. Metow, une patron de bar complétement déjanté qui nous a accueuillis avec la main sur le coeur. Belle journée avec lui mais nous devons prendre la route de l'Albanie et partons vers 15h. Au moteur depuis de le départ, 3 heures après nous sommes à 10MN de Ulcing et 3MN de la frontière. Nous prenons un contrôle de la police qui nous dirons que nous avons mis trop de temps à sortir de leur territoire et que pour cela nous devons payer une amende à Ulcinj... ce que nous ferons.Arrivé enfin en Albanie, on rejoind Vangjel au port de Durres, très commercial. On découvre ce guide franco-albanais avec qui on passe de merveilleux moments, à terre comme en mer. Nous le quitterons à Ksamil, d'où nous partirons pour la GRÊCE ! Petite balade en voilier

After the boat arrived from Chicago in late October and was pulled in early November, we went to work preparing for the 2022 season. Part I deals with much of the interior work that was done during the winter, include installing the electronics for new instruments, pulling some of the old instruments, removing close to 90 feet of wire associated with a massive entertainment system that was on board that also came out, and cleaning. Lots of cleaning. Nearly every weekend throughout the winter entailed some project on the boat. As with every boat project, for every two steps forward, it seemed like we took a step and a half back. And in working one project we would usually find two more that also needed to get done. Although there is no sailing in this video, we hope it is informative as to what goes into getting a new boat ready to sail from our perspective. Its an unusual wind today so we'll be reaching in Lulu the Drascombe Lugger down the lake for a change in a bit of a grumpy wind. Reaching is always so calm and serene and this sail was no different, until we turn to head home on a beat! We also have a little race with a Wayfarer and fair quite well!! In dieser Folge wird das Deckshaus innen geprimert und die Konsole für die Windsteuranlage entgültig positioniert. Unser Segelboot Squib, ein Catalac 9M, ist in die Jahre gekommen, die Verkleidung hängt teilweise von der Decke, die Farbe blättert ab, die Elektrik auf dem Stand des vorigen Jahrtausends,..... Ein Refit steht an. Doch Broterwerb und Verpflichtungen lassen es nicht zu, monatelang in Griechenland am Boot zu arbeiten. Da wird schon 2018 die Idee geboren Squib nach Wien zu bringen, wo man jederzeit Zugang hat, der Einkauf von Material in der Muttersprache abgewickelt werden kann und alles andere seinen gewohnten Verlauf nimmt. 2021 war es dann endlich soweit, mit zwei komplett überholten Motoren und einem neuen Geräteträger starteten wir Anfang Juli Richtung Südfrankreich.Leider hatten wir für die gesamte Reise nur zwei Monate Zeit, deswegen hieß es die meiste Zeit Strecke machen. Doch manchmal nahmen wir uns die Zeit zu verweilen, uns Orte näher anzuschauen. A few days before the start of the Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race – in the middle of a mighty rain storm at the CYCA - we spoke to Jack Kliner, the skipper of the S&S 34 Azzurro and to his crewmate Xavier Doerr. Not many people that were following Azzurro during the race would have known that she had a secret weapon on board – a Blooper! Unfortunately the conditions did not allow them to fly this unusual downwind sail, additional unrated sail area that was definitely a thing in the IOR days of the 1970s. In this short interview Xavier Doerr explains the Blooper and its unique trimming technique, as well as describing some more 21st-century sailcloth on board from Dimension Polyant (using Tyra technology). Skipper Jack Kliner describes his family history with the S&S 34 – the same design of boat that his crewmate Jessica Watson sailed around the world - as well as the responsibility they all feel for continuing Azzurro’s fine record, established by her well-known former owner Shane Kearns.

Aria and I make it back down to the boat, with just a few days to provision and organize one last time. We make trip after trip to Walmart, Sam's club, Aldi, and Publix. And yes, people were staring at us with our two carts full in each of those places! LOL My husband and my dad both thought I over provisioned and there was no way I was going to be able to put everything away. It took about 3 days, but I got everything into its forever home. =) And I also feel like over provisioning is a rite of passage. Like you've got to do it at least once to learn your lesson right? We heard MATTHEW McCONAUGHEY on the VHF asking for a bridge opening, which was super cool! And that started days worth of Matthew's best movie lines. This is also when we realized Ana had never seen Dazed and Confused. So we watched that for the first time with her and it was hilarious!! We enjoy one more night out at good ole Dave & Busters, one more trip to Publix. We say goodbye to Harbour Towne Marina, Fort Lauderdale, and Port Everglades one last time, before we sail off into our new lifestyle and we just cannot wait to see what is waiting for us =)

The Salcombe Gin Morgan Cup Race was held in fantastic conditions, producing a thrilling finish to decide the IRC Two-Handed National Champion. Ross Applebey’s Oyster 48 Scarlet Oyster was the overall winner after IRC time correction lifting the Morgan Cup. After a nail-biting finish, the 2024 IRC National Champion is Rob Craigie’s Sun Fast 3600 Bellino, racing with RORC Commodore Deb Fish. Bula vinaka amici di Y2K! Atterriamo sull'isola di Yadua, un posto un po' fuori dalle rotte comuni. L'isola si trova all'imbocco del canale VATU-I-RA che separa Vanua Levu da Viti Levu e in cui l'aliseo gia' bello fresco si incanala e accelera notevolmente. Il vento soffia forte per giorni, ma l'ancoraggio e' sicuro e noi ce ne andiamo ad esplorare le spiaggette che circondano la baia di Cukuvou. Incontriamo i pescatori locali e una famiglia che lavora la copra. Presentiamo il nostro Sevusevu a loro, considerato che il villaggio si trova nella parte sopravvento dell'isola. Quando l'aliseo mostra qualche ora di cedimento, ne approfittiamo per attraversare il canale e raggiungere le isole Yasawa, precisamente l'isola di Yasawa, quella da cui prende il nome l'arcipelago. Ancoriamo davanti al villaggio di Yasawa-i-Rara, un posto di una bellezza incredibile, un ancoraggio in acque turchesi davanti alla spiaggia piu' bella e piu' lunga delle Yasawa. Il vice-chief riceve il nostro Sevusevu e ci accoglie in comunita'. Ci invitano a scuola, ci offrono la colazione e la domenica siamo tutti invitati a partecipare alla funzione in chiesa. Poi ci spostiamo verso sud di pochissime miglia per raggiungere un secondo ancoraggio spettacolare soprannominato "Champagne Beach" per via del colore della spiaggia.
