Долго собирался доделать видео с подъема Манюшки на Ланцероте. В итоге понял, что не доделаю. Поэтому выложу в том виде, на котором остановился 🙂 Мы уже третий раз поднимаемся в Арресифе. Здесь самый подходящий кран для нашего размера - 900 тонн. И удобно - рядом аж четыре огромных яхтенных магазина, больше, чем в любом другом месте. Так же, как и куча всевозможных сервисов. И по моторам и по такелажу и по корпусу и по металлам. На самом деле лучшее место на Канарах для ремонта или подготовки лодки к Атлантике. Тот же Лас Пальмас просто отдыхает по сервису. Когда мы первый раз сюда пришли, марина только-только открылась. Вся такая пафосная была - куча бутиков, крутых ресторанов, большой бассейн, детские залы. Даже был огромный футкорт с кухнями разных стран мира. Но при этом стояла совершенно пустая. А сейчас в марине ни одного свободного места нет. Но фудкорт открывают только когда туристический лайнер приходит. И часть бутиков закрылась. Энтропия, однако 🙂

C'est bien difficile, mais il faut vraiment sortir de l'eau maintenant si on veut parcourir les 2 MN qui nous séparent de Bonifacio. Voici une vidéo un peu hors norme pour cette chaîne, qui présente l'intégralité du trajet depuis le phare de la pointe de la Madonetta jusqu'à l'amarrage à quai au ponton K. En réalité c'est un trajet d'environ 1 mille qui va durer presque 30 minutes en navigant à vitesse réduite. La plupart des images sont accélérées 3 fois. Je laisse volontairement cette vidéo sans coupure et comme d'habitude, je rajoute un peu de musique. Nous avons eu à l'arrivée une petite contrariété un peu similaire à celle vécue à Calvi... On termine cette séquence par quelques clichés de la citadelle. Faire escale à Bonifacio sans y monter serait un sacrilège!

Our season in the Bahamas draws to a close. We spend a week at Manjack Cay in the Abacos where we have a beautiful beach, miles of great reef to dive and few neighbors. With a last minute change of plans we set sail north leaving the Bahamas for North Carolina, then Maryland.

So after two weeks of bad and unpredictable weather, hospital appointments, random work and other issues I manage to get back into things. It's been a busy two weeks elsewhere but I've hit some milestones with the boat. Mainly it is level and on new blocks. Water is draining as it should and I can now really see what needs attention. I've also done some shopping and got my first batch of materials to start actually adding things back to the boat! I'm reassessing what I should be doing first but rather than rushing into the chain locker I'm now thinking a new hatch and seal the cockpit floor. Also with the resin I have I can seal some pesky holes in the deck where I removed fittings ... This all depends on how English weather treats me! Happy watching ! Bayliner's design team has out done themselves again! For a 24' boat this boat has space to spare: The cockpit layout is second to none in this size boat and even up to 26' boats. I break the easy out in the crankshaft trying to back the sheared bolts out of the flywheel of the perkins 4.108 engine. Long story short The second time I turned of the engine the flywheel broke lose from the crankshaft. There was two weeks left in the season! We are told we cannot possibly do the job without pulling the engine out of the boat completely which would be at least $1000 starting. Anyway we are in the middle of attempting the impossible by lifting the engine in the boat and climbing behind the engine to reattached the flywheel and while we are bach there we decide to take apart the rear seal.

Aber geteiltes Leid ist halbes Leid und so sind wir froh, mit Robin und Justine ein Buddy-Boot an unserer Seite zu haben. Hier, abseits in den Cayos, zwischen hunderten unbewohnten Inseln, fern vom Festland haben wir seit Tagen keine andere Menschenseele mehr gesehen. Nicht einmal Fischer. Auch sie haben keinen Sprit mehr, um ihrem Lebensunterhalt nachzugehen. Bei einem Notfall, einem Blitzeinschlag wären wir hier ganz auf uns gestellt. Doch seit wir wissen, dass wir einen inoffiziellen Tankstopp auf Jamaika einlegen können, sind wir guten Mutes. Doch dann bildet sich ein Tornado über dem Wasser - und zieht auf uns zu.
