Velisti per Caso, scommettiamo che molti fra voi non sono stati raggiunti da questa notizia: qualche anno fa una motonave battente bandiera panamense, forse per fronteggiare mare grosso, ha scaricato nel Golfo di Follonica qualcosa come 50 ecoballe di plastica, da 1 tonnellata ciascuna! Dei cuboni di plastica pressata, praticamente, che oggi rischiano di aprirsi e causare un danno ambientale gravissimo nel Tirreno. Le difficili operazioni di recupero e smaltimento di questi rifiuti sono finalmente iniziate: la prima fase prevede di individuare con precisione dove si trovano e a che profondità. Poi, in primavera, si terrà la vera e propria "pesca" per lo smaltimento. La missione è delicata e difficile, quanto cruciale! In ballo ci sono i fondali marini tra l'Isola d'Elba e Piombino, ma non solo... The record is held by Pune's CEF who trusted Absolute SCUBA to deliver them the Record. We did ! This video is a tribute to the efforts leading to this historic win. Over 6 months of extensive training at our Pune training pool, much organisation between India & Koh Tao which was selected as the destination for the "Official Attempt" , lots of Guinness World Record rule books to read, dive plans to make, fine tune requirements of close to 80 dive professionals required for the effort and finally attempt the Record after a day of practice on 27 Dec 2016. E11: We are finally done with our ASQ Quarantine at Best Bella Pattaya Thailand, we are now off to Phuket Thailand to finally get to our Leopard 44 sailing catamaran. We spend a few hours in Pattaya while waiting for our van to arrive to give us a ride to Bangkok airport. We visit the Terminal 21 mall in Pattaya as well as Pattaya Beach. Our arrival into Phuket was at 10pm at night. On the domestic routes, currently nothing is different than pre covid travel for departures. Once you arrive in Phuket they do a quick temperature scan and you sign a log book and includes your passport number. It is very quick and painless. When we finally arrive at G & T Boatyard in Phuket, we unloaded everything and took it up to our bungalow and quickly unpacked the flash lights and headed out to see Matahom for the first time. Nothing could have prepared us for what we saw, as we have never seen a large sailing catamaran before up close.
