Balance skippered by Paul Clitheroe lead the fleet out of the Heads followed by About Time. Balance (TP52) won Division 1 from Stephen Proud’s Swish (Kernan 44) with Jack Stening and Col Gunn’s Stormaway (Sydney 36) winning Division 2 from JustaDash (Beneteau First 40).

Comme lors de son entrée dans l’océan Indien, François Gabart établit donc un nouveau temps de référence en solitaire entre Ouessant et le Cap Leeuwin, situé au sud-ouest de l’Australie en 19 jours 14 heures et 10 minutes, à 26,50 nœuds de vitesse moyenne. Il améliore ainsi de 1 jour 12 heures et 59 minutes le chrono réalisé un an plus tôt par le détenteur du record du tour du monde en solitaire, Thomas Coville à bord de Sodebo. Prochain objectif dans le viseur de MACIF samedi après-midi : la Tasmanie, à la pointe sud-est de l’Australie, qui marque la sortie de l’océan Indien et l’entrée dans le Pacifique. Pour battre le record, détenu depuis le 25 décembre 2016 par Thomas Coville en 49 jours 3 heures 4 minutes et 28 secondes, François Gabart devra couper la ligne d’arrivée avant le 23 décembre à 13h09 (heure française) sur son trimaran MACIF. En plus de travailler sans relâche pour faire avancer son trimaran de 30 mètres le plus rapidement possible, il devra donc bénéficier d’un enchaînement de conditions météo favorables. Its a short trip up to the italian island of Sardinia. We go fishing on the way, but only manage small Tuna... This is literally the only type of fish we have caught in the Med thus far and we already had some in the freezer so chucked the little guys back to let them grow a bit more. We have a quick stop in Sardinia before heading across to Menorca, one of the Balaeric Islands. Everything was going hunky dorey until..... A freak lightning storm hit!! We stayed up most of the night (well Adam stayed up ALL night) and watched as mother nature expelled some mighty energy, hoping it wouldn't hit us! If there is water in the oil it will stay in the bottom of the drive and over time destroy the gearsystem, the oil must be changed every 2. years to ensure propper function. 1. suck out the oil of the reservoir 2. let the out the rest by removing the screw in the bow leg 3. fill new oil in the top and check level when the air has drained Oil : EP90 or SAE90 Amount : 300-400 ml.
