Saturday was lining up to be the big wind day of the RC44 Calero Marinas Cup, so windy that racing was likely to be cancelled. In the event, it was cancelled only due to a total lack of wind. With no immediate hope of racing, the nine RC44s were sent back ashore to Marina Lanzarote to await further instructions. Ultimately at 1430 PRO Peter Reggio made the inevitable call to cancel racing for the day. The RC44 Calero Marinas Cup is the final event of the 2017 RC44 Championship Tour, which pits the world's top businessmen and the best sailors in the industry compete in high-performance one-design 44-foot carbon racing yachts. A perfect 15-20 knot North East wind gave the fleet a brilliant start to the 2017-2018 NSW 18ft Skiff Championship on Sydney Harbour today and thrilled the spectator fleet with some spectacular racing action.

A fleet of five Farr 40s racing in the SSORC regatta made the best they could of the light breezes on the Manly Circle course yesterday. Hill PDA and Zen shared the honours on Day 1, with Hill PDA leading on a countback.

This week had some great progress on the boat. The boat got a couple of coats of the top coat white paint on the hull. We are using DuPont marine paint and it looks amazing. It is not done, just wait until we unveil the new color scheme. We have some footage, but waiting on the final coats and masking to come off so we can get a shot of the whole thing done with the new paint scheme. We also removed the mizzen mast and started to decide what is moving from one mast to the new aluminum one. I took in a great private Train Concert in Vegas at a company event and checked out how well the boat yard painted the bilge. It is not complete yet, but goes all the way from the bottom of the bilge up to the underside of the sole. We check in with some of the rookie Volvo Ocean Race crews as they head south to Cape Town. And on the subject of offshore, we take a look at the two monster trimarans in the double-handed race from France to Brazil that set a blistering pace and smashed the course record. Meanwhile inshore, a massive turnout for the J70 Worlds Championships in Sardinia started with controversy and ended with spectacular racing in one of the biggest one design sportsboat fleets ever seen. We spent the day at the Bay of Fundy’s Hopewell Rocks located in the Canadian province of New Brunswick. Hopewell Rocks has one of the biggest tidal changes in the world. Over a 4-hour period, the tide changed from 3 feet at low tide to over 42 feet at high tide! Hi Everyone, Today we replace the battery in our 2004 Porsche 996 Turbo X50. It was a fantastic opportunity to test out my new Solar BA5 Battery Tester. The battery that is in the car is several years old and is weeping acid. The Solar confirmed it was on its way out. For the battery change I use an OBDII memory saver which allows us to power the car’s un-switched power circuits during the battery swap so there is no memory loss in any of the computer modules. Join Team Roam on the sailing adventure of a lifetime. Sailing the World on ROAM a Home Built 48 foot Catamaran. This one is quite different for a SSR clip. Our new friend Bobby joins us for our biggest sail yet from New Zealand to Tahiti. He uses the opportunity make a video about what its like for us to live and sail full time as a couple on a sailboat.
