It didn't matter how much bug spray we put on, we each ended up with hundreds of tiny bites all over our entire bodies that we can't stop itching, and the "after bite itch eraser" isn't helping relieve the burning itch sensation one bit. We even tried applying Manuka Honey to the bites, which seemed to help temporarily, but also made it difficult to move about in fear of getting everything we touched a sticky mess. The heat along with the humidity is also getting to us. The temperature didn't drop at all during the night making it difficult for us to sleep. It also didn't help that there wasn't any wind to help cool things down.We ended up tossing and turning all night scratching ourselves to death, wishing it was morning already. This morning we are pulling up anchor and are planning on motoring to Great Sale Cay where we will be able to rest for the night before continuing on our journey back towards Florida. We are sad to be passing by so many fun islands and places that we were hoping to see along the way, but we simply can't risk going ashore and getting any more bug bites. This is such a beautiful place and we feel so blessed to be out here on our Epic Sailing Adventure, but the time has come for us to prepare to leave the tropical waters of The Bahamas and return back to our normal lives. One fun thing about today was when a pod of about 7 dolphins came and swam with us! This was the 2nd time on our trip that dolphins came to swim and play with us on Turtle. It is such a magical experience; one we will never forget! Here's to another great day sailing aboard Turtle here in The Bahamas! _____________________________________________________ MUSIC USED: "Sunrise" & "Heads Up!" by: Nicolai Heidlas "Summer Again" by: Dreamwave LINK: ~https://www.hooksounds.com/royalty-free-music/sunrise-acoustic/166697/ ~https://www.hooksounds.com/royalty-free-music/summer-again/1023388/ ~https://www.hooksounds.com/pt-br/royalty-free-music/heads-up/1027355/ ******************************************************** Affiliate links have been added to this description to help our viewers find products shown in our videos. “As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases.” Thank you. ********************************************************

Doing what you shouldn’t do when sailing: Rushing on a Schedule If you become a bit exhausted by watching this video, we don’t blame you! The video takes us back to the Fall 2018 in the Mediterranean Sea and a lot of things happen: We do some land based travelling to Bosnia & Herzegovina and learn about the horrors of the Yugoslav Wars and the genocide We play some old-school PinBall with friends from Denmark We charter a racing sailboat and realize how much we appreciate Tengah We sail in a VERY fast pace through the Mediterranean Sea (and end up in 45+ knots of wind) to be able to start our Atlantic Crossing in time. We meet some REAL YouTube Vloggers (Ryan_and_Sophie_Sailing) and go behind the scenes of one of their videos We eat some mealworms and learn about alternative protein production Along the way we of course have a lot of fun, and continue with our (apparently) Swedish theme by giving our own little tribute to the famous ABBA - have we told you that neither of us are Swedish, although we used to live in Sweden? If you are wondering why we don’t have more footage from all of this, we can assure you that so do we! Truth is that this was a very stressful period for us, and we simply didn’t manage to add shooting videos to all of this. Another thing you might be wondering is; what has eating dried mealworms and learning about alternative protein production to do with sailing and travelling? Well, not really much as you might have figured, but it brings us very close to one of our aims with this trip. We want to learn about environmental or social issues that we meet along the way and examine ways to do something about to minimize negative impacts. This might come in the form of organising beach clean-ups throughout the world, learning about mealworm production or talking to those dedicated to reducing sexual violence in the Caribbean. We are not doing this to confuse you or to tell you how you should live your life, we are simply doing it because we want to learn ourselves. By sharing our videos with you we hope that you find joy in learning with us, and that you after having watched our videos have learned a new thing or two. We hope you enjoy this way of making sailing/traveling videos, because this is something that is very important to us. Enjoy and all the best from Mie & Scott PS: if you want to know more about the benefit about mealworm production go to:https://www.independent.co.uk/life-style/food-and-drink/mealworms-food-why-eat-beetle-larvae-insect-taste-ingredient-supply-a7870541.html or if you want to know more about the farm Soeren is part-owner at: http://heimdalentofarm.dk/ (Danish Homepage) Also, don’t forget to visit our homepage at www.svtengah.com Camera Equipment Sony A7S with Sony 28mm f2.0 lens Garmin VIRB Ultra 30 action camera Zhiyun Crane Gimbal (Version 1) Canon EOS 70D with 18-135mm f3.5-5.6 lens Microphone: Shure LensHopper VP83 Editing: Final Cut Pro X We have decent enough equipment, but obviously not the latest and greatest. I set sail from Galway, Ireland for Iceland ---- an 800 NM crossing of the N Atlantic. Conditions are safe, but uncomfortable. I explain my wind management strategy, and am surprised by an island acceleration zone on arrival --- with winds of 35+ knots.

We must leave the island of Santa Luzia and head East to the island of São Nicolau. There we explore the town of Tarafal and meet a jolly Italian who shows us his house. We blown around with sudden gusts that flip over my dinghy and outboard engine and set off in the middle of the night to sail back to Sao Vicente. We get a close call of the jagged shore and make it back just before Carnaval in Mindelo. Please make your voice heard: Subscribe, like, dislike, or comment. Monday 8th April 2019 provided the perfect start to Race Day 1 of the 2019 Oyster Antigua sailing regatta - sponsored by Lewmar - with bright sunshine and gorgeous tropical heat, combined with a solid easterly breeze to provide perfect racing conditions. Race Officer Ben Mobley and Alan Brook chose exciting courses with fabulous vistas along the South Coast of Antigua. Starting right on time in Rendezvous Bay, Classes 1 & 2 were given a 19-mile course with a deep water mark off Shirley Heights as their top mark. Class 3 were given a 13-mile course with a top mark just outside Falmouth Bay. Both classes sailed to a bottom mark off the stunning Cades Reef, with teams dousing spinnakers just off Antigua's natural underwater park. After rounding Legacy to starboard inside Carlisle Bay, the final beat to finish was back to Rendezvous Bay. After about three hours of heaven-sent racing, the Oyster fleet returned to English Harbour, eager for results. A Dock Party was held at the Superyacht Dock, resplendent with fine examples of Oyster Yachts. A vibrant steel band played a joyful tune during the prize giving, with Caribbean delicacies on offer including: Lobster Roti, Trinidad style Doubles, and other tempting Caribbean delicacies. Jenny Hadida and Lewmar Tech Support Co-ordinator Toby Price, awarded the Race One prizes. SUBSCRIBE and hit the bell for weekly videos! http://www.youtube.com/c/MJSailing?sub_confirmation=1 As far as Thai islands go, most everyone has heard of Phuket, Ko Samui and Ko Tao....but we take the opportunity to get in depth with the lesser known gems...where there are still far more locals than tourists. Heading ashore to Koh Mak after arriving, we find out we basically are the only tourists there! This super chill island is all set up for the laid back traveler...but we must have come ashore while they were all sleeping off their sun soaked antics of the afternoon. We did get in contact with our new friends Maria and Phillip, who happened to be staying there. The next day we brought them out for a day of fun on Island Breeze where we got in a sail, attempted a little snorkeling, did deck jumps into the water, and then enjoyed a sunset on the trampoline with rum & cokes in hand. The next morning we haul anchor and set our sights on Koh Kood...much more focused to the resort visitors, but with plenty of pristine beaches. We make our first stop in front of the 6 star resort, Sonevea Kiri, where we're not allowed to go ashore, but we can take in the beautiful views from our cockpit. And an extra bonus for us, wanting to keep their guests as happy as possible, the resort built an amazing reef in front of their beach. Which also happens to be in our boat's back yard. And this trip is all about enjoying the water anyway. Much love from Thailand! Jessica, Matt & Georgie Thank you SO MUCH to our Patrons. Fellow boaters - I'm thrilled to share my latest project with you: MaintenanceROS! Crafted from my experiences aboard Starry Horizons, it's designed to simplify vessel and maintenance management, making life on the water even more enjoyable. Explore https://MaintenanceROS.com and enjoy an exclusive 20% discount for the first 6 months using promo code 'outchasingstars'. Seamlessly manage your boat's upkeep – let's embark on this journey together! ***** What's this??? Two successful spinnaker sails in a row??? There may be hope for us yet! We were faced with light winds again for our passage down to Labuan Bajo on Flores Island so it was the perfect opportunity to get some more spinnaker practice. It turns out Starry Horizons rather likes sailing with the spinnaker and she was off to the races. So much so that we actually had to slow down for a bit to arrive at some islands along the way during daylight so that we could see and avoid the FADs that were somehow stationairy in several miles deep of water! Once we arrived at Labuan Bajo we quickly changed into hosting mode as we had guests coming to visit. Including a night where it was just me and 4 ladies. It was a tough night for sure... :D Thanks for watching! (Footage from August/September 2018) Wondering what it's like to visit a hospital in Indonesia? Can you use products from Home Depot (or any local hardware store) on a boat? From what we've found, the answer is "it depends." The reason why people cringe when you say you're getting supplies from Home Depot for your boat is that there's an assumption that just because it came from the hardware store, it isn't "marine" grade. This assumption really comes from a lack of knowledge, or a misinterpretation of what makes something "marine." So, what does make something "marine?" Aside from the higher price tag, the qualifications in our opinion should include the product being waterproof and corrosion-resistant. Add UV stable if you're using the product on the exterior, but it's not as necessary for interior applications. As long as the product meets those two criteria, there's no reason you can't use something from Home Depot on a boat. An good example would be the PVC board we've been using. It's completely impervious to water and corrosion, meaning it's a GREAT product to replace the original plywood panels that rotted out on our boat due to water intrusion. Another example is stainless steel hardware. An quick example of something you SHOULDN'T use is particle board. Particle board would be horrible in a boat because the first time it gets wet, it would disintegrate. Also, don't use any other hardware from Home Depot other than the stainless steel hardware. Now, in this video we used regular sanded plywood from Home Depot. I normally wouldn't recommend using this product, unless you seal it with epoxy like we did. The epoxy combined with the exterior paint will make the doors very resistant to water, and they should last a long time. We chose plywood over PVC board for the cabinet doors because plywood is just easier to work with and stronger for that application. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Not-A-Broker Consulting: https://www.patreon.com/notabrokerconsulting Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/learningthelines Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/learningthelines ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Learning the Lines is a channel about us, an average couple in our 20's, with big dreams to be sailing the world by the time we're in our 30's.
