Ahoy Friends, This week we start the process of installing a Whale Gusher Foot Pump. The first step in this process was to determine where it made sense to install, on my 1965 Alberg 30 I decided to recess it under the stove enclosure in the starboard stowage area. I have an electric water pump onboard that works perfectly fine but I wanted to install a foot pump to help regulate how much fresh water is used. Later on during the final galley rebuild I will install a salt water hand pump at the sink allowing for easy washing with salt water then a quick rinse with fresh water when needed. On this episode we cut out the hole for the pump, design a simple shelf type bracket that the foot pump is mounted to then dry fit it under the stove to see how she fits. Next week we go drill the holes for the hoses and run all new hoses forward to the water tank. Thanks to our Patrons for your continued support! The new GoPro we purchased with your contributions has made filming so much easier and more reliable on the boat. Thanks to everyone for watching and if you like this episode please give us a "LIKE" and leave us a comment with any questions or just to say hi. There is something incredibly pure and rewarding being able to harness wind in the discipline of kiteboarding. The kite becomes and extension of your arms. The board an extension of your legs. Your mind is firing on all cylinders. I can’t possibly put it into words. It is an awesome feeling. Call it an addiction. Perhaps the healthiest form. Thank you very much, you guys are amazing supporting us with your likes and comments, we really feel that we have a new family out there. Much love Carla & Simon A little bit about us... We met in the summer 2015, we were introduced to each other by the virtual world. Eighteen months later we were getting married on a beautiful beach on Barbados, bare foot, very simple ceremony just like a dream! Two days after the wedding laying on the beach, talking about sailing, Carla suggested... why don't we sail around the world? Guess what Simon said? "Let's do it" He took it with no second thoughts! And here we are, two years after that day in Barbados, we started our adventure in Croatia. We made it happen working through all the challenges on the way. Now we are enjoying this wonderful life, and what a wonderful life it is! As we travel we will cross less fortunate countries, we would love to help to build a school or a health care centre, anything that these people may need, and in our beautiful world this is taken for granted. But for these people it's a dream, or may not even be a dream. We will look around and when the opportunity to help comes we will put our hands and hearts in to it. Much love Carla and Simon

We are going to Corsica island and Sardinia (Italy). First time sailing alone, first time night navigation. ########################################## We are a family of 3, Lithuanian and French couple currently living in Dubai UAE with our daughter born in 2020, with the dream of circumnavigating the globe with a catamaran sailing boat. In early 2019 we took a one-week sailing courses that opened our eyes of new ways of travelling and changed our life style. In June 2020, we decided to sell everything we own, house, car and lot of stuff that we do not need anymore so that we can buy a sailboat and go for an undetermined voyage around the globe. #veleiro #mulher #feminismo

After 18 days at sea we couldn't wait to explore the remote Marquesas. We were super low on food so we managed to do some trading with the locals, eat in their homes and get some beautiful fresh fruit. Manta ray often circle Nikau at anchor and are amazing to swim with. We love French Polynesia! We are the Robbins family sailing on our boat named Nikau. We are a family of 5. Our 3 kids are doing NZ correspondence school on board. They are growing to love it! What's not to love about 3 hours of school a day and then a different playground for the afternoon every day! We've traveled from New Zealand to Sardinia in Italy to pick up our boat and we plan over a few seasons to sail her back to New Zealand. We hope you enjoy following us on our adventures! We would love to hear from you. Especially if you are interested in doing something crazy like we are! Maybe we can help answer some questions you have? Thanks and enjoy.

Tenders (RIBs, Dinghies) are vital to the life of live-boards (as we discovered last year when we didn't have one anymore!) So we were thrilled to finally afford a good quality (Hypalon), hard bottom (aluminium) RIB that can take the entire family. Thanks to a quick payout form our insurance company, a great deal from Yacht Centre Palma and some domestic budget cuts, we bought a new AB Lammina 9.5AL hypalon dinghy.. which replaces our (destroyed) Caribe from last season :/ So this is just a short unboxing and test drive video to show you some of it's features and what we think of it. As we were getting the boat ready for the summer season we had yet another problem with the electric heads. We had to use a bit of ingenuity to sort it this time! ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If you found it informative or entertaining please give it a thumbs as it helps get YouTube to promote it outside of the existing subscribers. If you haven't already and you want to follow along with our journey, hit the subscribe button. We may not be Sailing La Vagabonde, Sailing Doodles or SV Delos or have their number of followers, but we do now liveaboard our sailboat and are inspired by those channels to do similar. So please join us along our journey. We've also added some links next to the equipment we use if you want to check them out on Amazon. If you are in the market for any new kit we'd appreciate it if you could click through one of our links, it puts a few coppers in our account :) even if you purchase something totally different.
