Hi Everyone, Lennie and I decided to take some formal safety training and we learned a lot while having a great time at SUNY maritime college in New York City. This US Sailing class includes a hands on field day along with an online course that was really fascinating. Seems amazing we cruised 12000 miles without taking this course and believe me we were probably not as well prepared as we thought for safety. I think the biggest takeaway was all the radio comm info along with life jacket training. It's hard to explain just how much info is packed into this course and I encourage anyone who boats to take it. Hände-Wechsel auf dem Rücken ist verboten) ist er schon so weit, dass er sich eine Rollwende traut. Single-Task-Methode: Der Segler muss immer in der Lage sein, was er gerade macht zu beschreiben, ohne dabei "UND" zu sagen. D. h. Wenn er sagen muss, "Ich stehe auf UND wechsele die Hände" ist Multitasking, und deshalb ist dies verboten!

We head across France via the Normandy Coast and dig into the history of D-Day before cutting east across the Loire Valley. We are a family of six who are taking some time out of normal life to travel. We’ve pulled the kids from school and are home schooling while on the road and the water. We spend time aboard our 34ft sailing boat in NZ and have bought a camper in Europe so as to tour the other side of the world.
