** NOW SOLD ** Fidra is a 2006 Hanse 370e that is now listed exclusively for sale with the team at YOTI on Sydney Harbour. Representing one of the most popular models globally by the German manufacturers, the 370e's still prove to be extremely sort after. The 'e' represents the epoxy used in the hulls layup making for a lighter / stiffer / stronger and virtually osmosis proof hull for life. Fidra is the two cabin option consisting of the generous owners cabin forward, good sized saloon opposite dual seating which doubles as the nav area, impressive head and shower, a big extended galley leading to the internal access to the storage garage (also accessible via the cockpit) and finally the second large double cabin. The storage garage comes with a mattress so the space doubles as accommodation when needed. Lee cloths are fitted throughout. The stand out features on Fidra (further to the usual easy / quick / quality that comes with the brand) is her overall condition and also her solid list of extras; overlapping genoa (in addition to the self tacking jib), spinnaker, storm jib on a removable inner forestay, a proper electric autopilot plus a new Hydravane windvane steering system with independent removable rudder, the full six winches (a major upgrade on original purchase) plus an additional electric multipurpose winch in the cockpit which assists with sail hoisting and reefing etc. Standing rigging was replaced new in 2014. The chart plotter at the helm and many other electronics were installed new in just 2019. There is a second chart plotter at the nav station. These yachts are simply a joy to sail either racing with a crew or quite literally cruising just one up. The mainsheet is naturally controlled by the helm on an upgraded traveller. In the owners words; "Fidra has spent most of her life in the Swan River in Perth doing mainly jib and main short river racing. She has sailed a few times to our local island 'Rottnest' and has competed in several Port Geographe regattas (spinnakers included) where we regularly finished in the top 3 or 4 boats in our division; one year we won our division for the week outright. Much celebration followed - "Quick boats those Hanses", cried the crowd! Fidra has recently arrived in Sydney from Perth via the Great Australian Bight. We averaged 6 knots over the 2200 NM voyage. This video shows some of the projects that we recently completed while hauled out of the water for 2 weeks at the boat yard at Baja Naval in Ensenada, MX. The main reason that we hauled out was to service our stuffing box and apply a coat of fresh anti-fouling paint, but we found more problems with the running gear that needed to be addressed after hauling out. A summary of the work we did in the yard: -Remove and lubricate Hundested controllable pitch propeller assembly -Replace cutlass bearings (2) -Overhaul stuffing box and machine to increase cooling water flow -Remove through hull underwater lights, glass in holes, and replace with flush mount LED lights -Apply Propspeed coating to propeller -2 coats of antifouling paint, 3 at waterline -Replace all worn zinc anodes -Polish blue Awlcraft paint on hull -Remove anchor chain to send to re-galvanize ______________________________________________________________________________________ This Video Is Made Possible By Our Amazing Fans! The basic recipe included some bread, but this variant has no bread so it will be a healthy and diet variation with one special ingredient. Find it in the video… The ultimate refresher, deliciously easy Gazpacho Recipe is made with garden fresh vegetables such as tomatoes, cucumber, and onion. Learn all about how to make this healthy and traditional Gazpacho Andaluz (Chilled Spanish Tomato Soup) and enjoy it all summer long. You can keep Gazpacho in the fridge for a few days, but I bet you’ll finish it before then. It’s usually served as an appetizer or even a drink, but it also can be eaten from a bowl with delicious toppings. Gazpacho Soup Toppings Toppings are always optional, but also super fun and easy way to add extra flavors. 1. Fresh herbs. Basil, chives, mint are the best, but any will do. 2. This soup is made with bread, crushed almonds, garlic, water, olive oil, salt, and sometimes vinegar. * Salmorejo – originating in Cordoba, Spain, this variation of gazpacho is a thick purée made from tomato, bread, oil, and garlic. Often served topped with diced Spanish serrano ham or hard-boiled eggs. A little bit from history. What is Gazpacho? Gazpacho is a cold, raw, blended soup that originated in the southern region of Andalusia in Spain. The exact origin of gazpacho is hotly debated, however, it is believed that it originated as a soup made with stale bread, olive oil, water, vinegar, and garlic and came to Spain and Portugal with the Romans. On the other hand, some firmly believe that this dish came to Spain with the Moors, who occupied the Iberian Peninsula from the 8th to the 12th centuries. Additionally, the word gazpacho comes from the Arabic word for “soaked bread”. As Andalusia was a large farming region of Spain, it was common for farmers and field workers to combine their bread ration with any additional oil, garlic, and vegetables in a mortar and add additional water until an easily digestible, and refreshing soup formed. Faial is really starting to stand up to the beauty we experienced in Flores! In this episode we learn a bit about how the Azores were formed from volcanic activity and then set off to climb the highest peak in all of portugal! We have had a lot going on here at the boatyard. With having to revamp the roof due to the new building inspector in town, to getting the new thicknesser up and running, to getting the last oak planks on the boat before we leave for Costa Rica. We manage to get most of that done. In order to accomplish all this though, we have to go through some of the steps. One of which is getting the trusses made for the new roof. Not an easy task in the middle of winter in New England! With all of this going on, we still had to work on the oak plank we started to hang because we can't leave it sitting while we are gone in Costa Rica for two weeks. So, Alix, Keira and Steve go through the usual process of getting the plank on and off the boat over and over again in order to get it to fit. Which, also includes a bit more steaming to get the most curvy parts to fit properly. We depart St. Augustine just after a cold front passes and we get a wonderful overnight sail with an offshore win. Our route takes us south passed Cape Canaveral and finally into Palm Beach, where we anchor in the very pleasant surroundings of Lake Worth. We rent a car here and explore Fort Lauderdale and the exclusive Palm Beach residential area. We then attempt to take the ICW to Fort Lauderdale, but we are thwarted by a bridge with a height restriction and end up having to back track to Lake Worth again. We depart again early the next morning, this time via the outside route in the Atlantic. Anchored next in South Lake, Hollywood, we enjoy Christmas day in Fort Lauderdale then have an enjoyable day trip to Miami. Our short passage from Hollywood to Biscayne bay is pretty rough, on the tail end of a strong onshore wind, and we are glad to get into the shelter behind Kay Biscayne, navigating the last few miles in the dark. This concludes our time in USA and from here we ponder whether to continue south to Havana or east to Bahamas. 14 - 30 Dec 2019

Before leaving Qingdao, China, our home of 4 years, we sold almost all of our earthly possessions and started our international search to find the right sailboat that we would call "home." After 5 months of unanticipated twists and turns, we found what we were looking for, a used Leopard 44' Catamaran located in St. Lucia. So, here begins our journey, filled with unmatched excitement and honestly, a bit of trepidation as well. We have much to learn as we travel the world on our floating home and we intend to document that journey and share it with you. This footage was taken during listing process of motor yacht name MY TUTKU which is 34 m by length and now offered for sale. During the shooting my drone was descending a bit below the sea water level (I need to get better at this...) I managed to fly it back to the yacht but it was soaked with salt water and did not take off again.. camera gimbal was also seemed to be not functioning... Wir segeln von Ystad (Schweden) nach Bornholm - allerdings erreichen wir den geplanten Hafen Allinge nicht, weil wir kurzentschlossen unsere Planung über den Haufen werfen. Dafür besuchen wir Hammershavn und die Burgruine Hammershus. Vorher bekommen wir aber noch Besuch von einer Hummel. Ever wonder whats happens when you neglect your fuel tanks? What happens when you become complacent and fail to treat your fuel, especially while in a 3rd world country? I’ll show you… In this video, I take you along as I do my best to clean my tanks with the single access port they were designed with. Like many fuel tanks, my tanks were designed with baffles separating 4 sections of the tank, with only a small cut away in each corner of the baffle which allows fuel to pass between the sections. To put it simply, I could only see or clean 25% of each tank. Since we had limited resources and space in Luperon, Dominican Republic, I chose to simply transfer the fuel completely from one tank to the other, several times, until I saw was clean fuel passing through the fuel polisher. This certainly improved the state of my tanks, but we would find as we motor-sailed out of Luperon, at night, it did not “cure” the problem. On the next segment of our battle with the diesel bug, we take extreme measures to solve the problem once and for all!
