Two boats have returned to Kiel after a collision moments after the start of Leg One of The Ocean Race Europe. Both Holcim PRB and Allagrande MAPEI Racing are back at the dock in Kiel with their shore teams working hard to assess the damage and plan repairs. All crew are reported safe after side to side contact at high-speed between Team Holcim PRB and Allagrande MAPEI Racing. While those two teams returned to Kiel to assess damage and begin repairs, Biotherm drew first blood to lead the IMOCA fleet to the Kiel Lighthouse scoring gate, securing the first two points of the race, with Paprec Arkéa close behind and claiming a single point. E perché è importante conoscerla in nautica?** In questo video di *Nautica in pillole* ti spiego, con parole semplici e alla portata di tutti, cosa significa "coppia", come si differenzia dalla potenza e perché è fondamentale nella scelta del motore per la tua barca. --- ### Che cos'è la coppia in un motore termico? La **coppia** è la forza che serve per far girare un componente meccanico, come l’albero motore. Nei motori termici, la coppia è ciò che mette in movimento tutto il sistema. Ma perché si chiama coppia e non semplicemente forza? Perché deriva da **due forze contrapposte** (una che tira e una che spinge), che lavorano insieme per creare il movimento rotatorio. ### Coppia vs Potenza: qual è la differenza? Spesso si confonde la **potenza** con la **coppia**, ma sono due cose diverse: * La **coppia** è la forza che genera il movimento. * La **potenza** è la velocità con cui quella forza viene applicata. Immagina un camion e una macchina da corsa con lo stesso numero di cavalli (es. 1000 CV): la differenza la fa la coppia. Il camion ha **coppia in basso**, cioè ai bassi giri, ideale per partire anche con carichi pesanti. L’auto da corsa ha **coppia in alto**, ai giri elevati, perfetta per le alte velocità ma meno efficace in partenza. ### Come incide la coppia nella nautica? Nel mondo delle barche la coppia è cruciale. Due motori con la stessa potenza (es. 150 CV) possono comportarsi in modo molto diverso: * Un motore con **coppia alta a bassi giri** farà planare prima la barca, ed è perfetto per mezzi pesanti o con molti passeggeri. * Un motore con **coppia alta ad alti giri** entrerà in planata più lentamente, ma raggiungerà velocità elevate più facilmente. Ideale per barche leggere e prestazioni sportive. Questo spiega perché una barca da 12 metri può avere “pochi cavalli” rispetto a una da 8 metri con motore più potente: conta **dove e come viene erogata la coppia**. ### Semplificando con un esempio pratico Immagina di usare una chiave per svitare un bullone: * Con una **leva lunga (coppia in basso)** fai meno fatica. * Con una **leva corta (coppia in alto)** fai più fatica, ma puoi girare più velocemente. Allo stesso modo, un motore con coppia in basso sposta carichi con facilità; uno con coppia in alto rende al massimo ad alte velocità. ### La scelta del motore giusto Non esiste il motore “perfetto” in assoluto. Esiste **il motore migliore per te**, per il tuo tipo di barca, per le tue esigenze, e per il tuo modo di vivere il mare. 45-Knot Rescue, Scuba Certification & Discovering the Real Greece This week’s episode has it all—adrenaline, adventure, and a heartwarming discovery about what truly makes Greece unforgettable. It all began when I had to jump aboard another sailboat and take the helm as skipper in the middle of 45 knots of screaming wind. Their anchor was dragging fast, and the inexperienced crew was struggling to control the situation. With no time to lose, I maneuvered their boat back into a safe position and helped them re-moor. It was a reminder of one of the best things about sailing—the community spirit. Out here, we look out for each other, because one day you’re the helper, and the next, you might be the one needing a hand. After the stormy drama, we sailed to the Chalkidiki Peninsula and entered the beautiful Miraggio Marina, which would become our home for the next three weeks. And what an incredible three weeks they were… The Blonde took on a new challenge—earning her PADI Scuba Diving Certification with the fantastic SeaRacer Diving Academy. Under the expert guidance of Tomas—the best instructor we’ve ever met—and the warm hospitality of the center’s owner, Dimitry, the experience was flawless. If you’re planning to get your PADI certification in Greece, we cannot recommend this dive center enough. The marina staff were equally amazing—professional, friendly, and always ready to help. It was here that we realized something important: we’ve been wrong about Greece all along. Yes, the beaches are stunning and the sailing grounds are world-class, but that’s not the real reason people cruise here for decades. In questo video ti spiego passo passo tutto ciò che serve sapere prima di comprare un’imbarcazione di seconda mano.** --- ### I 5 ERRORI DA EVITARE QUANDO ACQUISTI UNA BARCA USATA Acquistare una **barca usata** può essere un ottimo affare, ma solo se si affronta con attenzione e consapevolezza. In questo episodio di *Nautica in Pillole* ti spiego i principali errori da evitare per non trasformare il sogno in incubo. #### 1. Non fare un’ispezione approfondita La prima cosa da fare è salire a bordo e controllare ogni dettaglio: **cuscineria**, **impianti**, **motore**, **tappezzeria**. Tutto deve essere funzionante. Se la barca è da un privato, è fondamentale affidarsi a un **perito nautico** per una valutazione tecnica completa, soprattutto se parliamo di imbarcazioni da decine o centinaia di migliaia di euro. #### 2. Ignorare la manutenzione passata Troppi proprietari non tengono traccia dei lavori svolti. Pretendi **fatture** ufficiali, documentazione chiara e storica, anche se la barca è degli anni ‘80. Senza documentazione, non hai garanzie su come è stata mantenuta. Chiedi il **certificato di potenza del motore** e il **certificato di conformità** della barca: sono documenti obbligatori. #### 3. Non controllare il motore Il **motore della barca** è uno degli elementi più importanti, sia per barche a vela che a motore. Verifica che si accenda, funzioni bene, raffreddi correttamente, non abbia allarmi e che la scansione della centralina non riporti problemi. Anche se acquisti da un privato, puoi richiedere un **report tecnico** da un meccanico specializzato. #### 4. Dimenticare il budget di gestione Non considerare solo il prezzo di acquisto, ma anche **quanto ti costerà mantenerla ogni anno**. Porto, manutenzione, rimessaggio: sono tutte spese che devi mettere in conto. Valuta anche la **soglia psicologica di spesa**: puoi permettertela sì, ma sei anche disposto a spendere quella cifra regolarmente? #### 5. Non fare la prova in mare Una **prova in mare** è fondamentale per testare le reali prestazioni della barca. Accendere il motore in cantiere non basta: sotto sforzo, in navigazione, si manifestano i problemi reali. Se il venditore (privato o concessionario) non vuole farla, chiediti il perché.
