For the price, this soundbar has great sound and we are going to review what comes in the box, how it works, and what we think of this soundbar. The Samsung T650 Soundbar by itself is awesome but pair with the SWA-8500S 2.0 Speaker System, O my gosh! For the price, I would put this up next to higher-priced systems. We compared this soundbar with a Bose Lifestyle system to see how it measures up, and we were surprised how well this soundbar did. The high frequency was really clear and almost identical and the lows from the Samsung Subwoofer started to drop off at around 35 Hz. En temps normal, la manœuvre ne serait pas un problème, seulement, avec un moteur en moins, mon Tchoupi n’est pas très rassuré et depuis hier soir, il réfléchit à la technique la plus adaptée pour déménager Blacky sans risque de commotions. Finalement, pourquoi se tracasser avant ? En deux temps, trois mouvements, avec l’aide de serviables plaisanciers, mon capitaine s’extrait sans un accro du ponton international, s’engage dans la rade par laquelle nous sommes arrivés, bifurque bâbord et nous fait déboucher devant la marina de Richards Bay. Premier week-end en Afrique du Sud, premiers contacts, premier Braï. S’il y a une aptitude locale à retenir de nos premiers jours ici, c’est l’accueil chaleureux qui nous a été alloué. À peine arrivés, comme pour tous les autres voyageurs, une charmante Natasha, est venu nous offrir une carte Sim et s’assurer que nous n’avions besoin de rien, s’en est suivi, la coïncidence des rencontres qui, sans difficulté nous a déniché un mécano et le plus naturellement du monde nous a fait nous retrouver parmi les invités d’un anniversaire organisé ! Autre disposition positive de cette escale, la vie relativement bon marché. Nous n’en n’avions pas le souvenir et pour cause, il y a 7 ans, nous avions 11 rands pour 1 euro, aujourd’hui, nous en avons 18 pour la même unité ! S’ajoute au coût de la vie, le choix des produits frais et je peux vous dire que pour une Jacouille qui cuisine, c’est le vrai bonheur ! Tant qu’à y être, profitant de tarifs adéquats à notre bourse, nous faisons un renouveau à nos vêtements et irons même, vu la faible différence avec le prix au mouillage, jusqu’à mettre Black Lion en marina pour ne plus avoir le souci d’un dérapage. Faut dire qu’ici avec les dépressions de Sud qui sévissent très souvent, mieux vaut être certain de sa zone d’ancrage ou choisir l’option ponton ! Dans un autre registre, parait-il que dans les parages, rodent un croco et un hippo ! S’il est certain que notre budget nourriture va à l’aise s’adapter à nos trois mois de visa sud-africain, il n’est pas dit que celui, maintenance bateau s’accommode aussi facilement ! Non que je veuille être pessimiste, loin de moi cette idée mais il faut bien se rendre à l’évidence, le provisoire ne peut durer et nos moteurs ont réellement besoin de pièces de rechanges ! Sauf que, les pièces de rechanges en question sont introuvables, nos Sails Drive ne sont plus fabriqués… Outre ce gros chantier qui risque de nous coûter, à moins que notre dépanneur nous trouve une solution alternative, les bricoles sont plus abordables, et le tableau électrique peut être changé sans de grosses dépenses ! Et là, les bananas, je peux vous dire que mon Tchoupi a assuré, lui qui, vous le savez, déteste l’électricité, nous a refait le centre de commandes à la perfection ! À être dans les réparations, sans avis consentant de ma moitié, j’ai pris l’initiative de fixer un rendez-vous chez un chiropracteur ! When I removed our old Whale / Henderson Mk5 the only thing that WAS working was the motor - everything else seemed to be broken. The diaphragm, the inlet valve, the outlet valve and even the screw holes were worn out so they all had to be replaced from the service pack. Before fixing it back in place I tested it in a bucket of water then gave the grey water bilge a much needed clean and gave the bonding strap its annual check up too. In this chapter, we sail from Athens, through the narrow channel off Poros and South towards the Peloponnese. Sadly the preventative maintenance we had invested in Caladh on Samos was beginning to unravel. This coupled with the growing pandemic and the reality of its global impact, threw hundreds of variables into sharp relief for T and I. Much like the culprit of our 'knocking' sound, we were beginning to be a bit ground down. Life on the boat is isolated and, in many ways, we were some of the safest individuals on the planet. That said, the concern for family and friends and the physical separation was intensifying. As we all know, a week is a very long time in a pandemic, so our plans were changing regularly. I share this with you because you might notice we appear on camera slightly less this episode, but also to break the fourth wall social media mirage and delusion of 'everything is perfect'. I mean I think we shatter this fairly regularly ANYway(!), with toilet pumps breaking, tornados and leaks, but nevertheless, I think it's a pertinent reminder - especially in 2020. The reality is that we have captured what we could at the time and more often than not, this is when we were feeling more up to it... but like most people this year, we struggled too. However, we were on a mission to stay safe and keep our options open. So we pulled our socks up as best we could and decided to sail beyond Spetses to escape the (now busy) charter-boat zones and head for the Peloponnese. Mother nature was on our side and we were rewarded with some fantastic downwind sailing, accompanied by dramatic mountainous valleys, deserted anchorages and crystal-clear waters. The veil of worry was still there, but we took what we could and for us, the Peloponnese was exactly the kind of adventure into raw mother nature we love - a timely reminder. This is the biggest fish we've ever caught while sailing and of our life. Turns out the sail across the Exuma Sound was lucky and all downwind. We waited out a storm perfectly protected in Rock Sound. And after provisioning we decided to cross over to Allan's Cay in the Northern Exumas with our new buddy boat.
