We are installing a high-amp busbar to tidy up our Jeep's aftermarket accessories. Prior to this, all the connections were made directly to the battery posts. With so many wires on it, the nut almost couldn't be threaded onto the battery. As well as posing a fire hazard, it makes maintenance much more difficult for the aftermarket systems in our Jeep. Wiring Accessories To Busbar The Jeep has a lot of accessories, they shouldn't all run directly to the battery. We move them to the bus bar of our Jeep. The busbar we chose won't run everything at once, but it can run systems as needed. As well, we wouldn't run the stereo at max while running the winch. It would be like going into your house and max loading all the circuits, you're going to flip the main breakers. (Red & Black) 3/8" 4 Stud Power Distribution Block - BUSBAR - with Cover - Made in The USA: https://amzn.to/3nolR6x Do your calculations based on normal conditions, since not all accessories, such as the two audio amps use the maximum Amps. Likewise, we placed the wire that runs from the battery to the winch on the same post to account for high draws. By doing so, we will eliminate current flowing through the busbar for our winch. Aftermarket Accessories Max Amp Requirements: Rough Country Winch: 350 Amps Max Off Road Lights: 60 Amps Max Audio Amps: 160 Amps Max Electric Radiator Fan: 26 Amps Max Jeep Air AC: 30 Amps Max Total Accessory Draw: 626 Amps The Busbar We Used The busbars we used are nice quality, made in the USA products, the fuse, not so much. It can handle up to 250 amps of power at 48 VDC before it starts glowing. Busbars have a certain thickness, determining the amp rating. You should never exceed the Amps. Like a fuse, over-capacity produces heat resulting from resistance to electrical flow. Due to the bare 3/8 studs on the bus, it was easy to tighten the wires for a good connection. Nickel plated brass contacts provide excellent conductivity and are great for protecting against non-optimal environments. Jeeps are a perfect example of non-optimal environments. Amp Fuse At Battery In this video, we showed the fuses for the audio amps installed. Though I am not the biggest fan of this fuse, it does what is needed and protects us from a high-amp wire causing a fire. It also fit behind that battery with all the relays we have in this Jeep. We will go into the fuse and the relays more in future videos Fuse Holder, 2 Pack 0/2/4 Gauge with 250Amp ANL Fuse: https://amzn.to/3A3im9i 00:00 Installing High Amp Battery Busbars, Cleaning Jeep Wiring 02:06 Unboxing Busbar And High Amp Fuse 03:04 Why We Need A Busbar 03:32 Installing Busbar in Jeep 07:38 The Jeep Accessories We Ran To The Busbar 09:04 Our Final Thought On The Busbar And My Communications Bloopers Tools We Love: Milwaukee 18-Volt Drill and Impact Driver Kit: https://amzn.to/366BwxM Husky Mechanics Tool Set: https://amzn.to/3kuGUzD Angle Grinder https://amzn.to/36FaC09 Forney Easy Weld Welder https://amzn.to/3romDR1 Welding Helmet https://amzn.to/3wOq58z You can also follow us on our blog: https://www.chrisdoeswhat.com/subscribe/ Or go directly to cooking: https://www.dininginwithdanielle.com Support us by shopping through our Affiliate Links! ABOUT US: Jupiter² was built in the Philippines by an Australian designer for Jamie. During his time away from work, Jamie lived on board and cruised South East Asia. One of his life dreams is to sail around the world. His plans came together at the end of 2018 when he met a Filipina lounge singer in China. Princess was yearning for a vacation since she had been working many years to support her family. Finally, her siblings got their own jobs and she decided to join Jamie on Jupiter² and go sailing. It was a wild decision for her because she had never sailed before. For the first time, they sail for two weeks around Phuket, Thailand. She began to see what Jamie love about the sea. They both resigned from their jobs in early 2019 and began cruising full time. Hopefully some inspiration to "Quit Job and Go Sailing". EP 190: Man vs Prop | Boat Work and Yacht Maintenance We got hauled out.. which means boat work needs to commence. We were not looking forward to any of this but had to get it done. Ricky was in charge of the outside and I was in charge of the inside. (Spring cleaning and touch up paints) First task was to remove our props as we wanted to seal them with propspeed. Then we had to sand down the hull and area where we would reapply our saildrive flange. Once that was complete.. Ricky did some paint touch ups with a nifty little spray bottle. Our flanges were installed and glued in for hopefully a long time and this time we hope the adhesive holds.. Stay tuned for next week were we carry on getting Lady Africa back to her old self. Boat life - A hammerhead shark wants our catch of the day -Ep 121 We have sailed to the beautiful, tranquil Montebello Islands where Declan, thanks to @SailingZatara, has had a chance to learn to kite board on a foiling board. And he's 'got it' really quickly. Meanwhile Rob does some hunting and gathering for the family, catches a tasty coral trout but then inadvertently attracts the attention of several sharks to the boat, one of which is a huge hammerhead, who all want a bit of the Mr coral trout too. Luckily it all ends well and we get the lions share of the fish. Though should we be eating fish in The Montebello's we ask ourselves? You see the British military tested three nuclear bombs here in the 1950's yet it still says don't spend more than an hour at the testing sites, which begs the question how radioactive are the islands? And should we eat that fish? Music Kiana - Stand Kiana - Stand instrumental Fabio Trentini, Frederico Tich Gava, Matteo Ballerin, Giulia Riboli - Russians (cover version) David Mumford - Ball and chain Additional footage of nuclear testing at The Montebellos Islands - War archives Thank you for helping keep us afloat and supporting the creative process. Rob, Rachel, Finn, Declan, Ivan https://www.patreon.com/CruisingKiwis BACK STORY In 1997, after rowing at the Atlanta Olympics, Rob decided to row a tiny seven-metre plywood boat, 2500 miles from Tenerife in the Canary Islands to Barbados in the Caribbean. It took 6 weeks and he and his rowing partner, Phil Stubbs, won the inaugural Atlantic Rowing Race. His first taste of a blue water ocean crossing. Skip forward to 2014 and, married with three children, Rob and Rachel purchased Javelot a 43 ft Fountaine Pajot catamaran. Armed only with Rob's 3 years of racing P class yachts from the age of 11 to 13, and Rachel's non existent sailing knowledge, we set off to learn the ropes of ocean sailing. We broke stuff, replaced stuff and got to know our boat before heading offshore with the kids, Finn 18, Declan 16 and Ivan 13, in tow. Through trial and error, we have become confident wayfarers, kind of. Our plan? To sail around the world. Part of the journey will be retracing Rob’s eldest brother Kerry’s travels at sea. Using Kerry’s original letters from the 1970’s we will re trace his movements from Australia through Indonesia and South East Asia to Cambodia where Kerry’s life was cut short after straying into Cambodian waters in 1978. Kerry and two friends were attacked by a Khmer Rouge gun boat, captured, tortured and executed. www.brothernumberone.co.nz ***** Follow us in real time on Instagram and Facebook @thecruisingkiwis @finn_hamill @declan_hamill @ivanhamill #NeverStopWanderingNeverStopWondering. #TheCruisingKiwis

Episode 007 As we navigate the COVID 19 lockdowns, a slight reprieve in them allows us to visit Tāiko and go sailing. However, we are in the middle of winter and New Zealand's winter weather conditions are not always suitable so we have to take moments when we can. Join us as we go for a winter sail, explore Tiritiri Matangi (a real treasure island), and we visit one of New Zealand's most popular tourist attractions on our road trip up to Tāiko, the Huka Falls. We hope you enjoy it! As always, thanks for watching. Sincere thanks to Charlotte Rockstar Jones for composing and recording Te Tāiko's theme song. After a few years of studying and working hard we decided it was time to make a change. We needed a change that would allow us to spend more time together, give us a better work/life balance, and the freedom to travel. While we still had time on our side, we wanted to use it to live rather than use it to chase money. Learning to sail was the answer. In December 2021 we moved onboard Te Tāiko, a Chico40, and since then we have been so fortunate to explore many of New Zealand’s pest free islands and its beautiful anchorages. With our love of travel and adventure, this lifestyle has enabled us to experience so much more than we could ever have imagined. From new experiences to meeting incredible people along the way, our life has been enriched in so many ways and makes us ever so more appreciative of our environment and the footprint we leave behind. Tāiko is our floating home. She gives us the freedom to go anywhere the wind and weather allows. By living a more minimalistic and sustainable lifestyle, she has provided us with a better work/life balance and has taught us to live and be present more in the moment. Tāiko has also taught us to be more independent and less reliant on services. Some of these experiences have taken us out of our comfort zone many times but as the saying goes, ‘a comfort zone is a wonderful place but nothing grows there’. Our plan is to do blue water cruising. So, over the next year we will be completing some maintenance work on Tāiko and be getting her ready to meet New Zealand’s category 1 requirements to be able to go offshore. In the meantime, follow along with us as we navigate this new lifestyle whilst sharpening our skills exploring New Zealand waters. #boatlife #boat #travelvlog #digitalnomad #lifestyle #sailing #travel
We covered a general plan for the interior in a breezy way a few weeks ago in a bonus video (https://youtu.be/RDxneIM3M8c), but now that a few things are in place and the vision came into focus, Carolyn drew a scaled layout plan that is approaching some semblance of "complete." As she and Steve do a virtual walkthrough of the details... is that... A WORKBENCH?! Finally unboxing the head and the deck prisms was exciting. We are ever so thankful to the people who have been donating funds to the wish list and made it possible for us to receive key interior items just about on time for when we'll need them. We're working on a special interior project presently for which there are a few new things on the list. Check it out: https://www.acorntoarabella.com/wishlistpriority Norna is a Danish-built, lapstrake, heavy-scantling cruising boat that our friends Kourtney Patterson and Pete Grundvig have been living aboard for the last 20 years. These Floridians have done a North Atlantic circumnavigation, and now they spend their summers in Maine. You might remember Pete and Kourtney coming to visit and help with Arabella when they've passed through on their way north or south—and it was Kourtney who burned Carolyn's dragon into the bilge stringers. Check out Kourtney's videos here: https://www.youtube.com/user/AccidentalSailorGirl They love their AirHead, and it was neat to see their installation and hear a few pointers from them... right on time. Steve and Alix started as amateur boat builders building their own 38' wooden boat in their backyard: designer William Atkin's Ingrid with a Stormy Petrel's gaff rig. These videos follow the journey from tree felling, to lumber milling, to lofting, to the lead keel pour and beyond—sharing details of the woodworking, carpentry, metal smithing, tool building, and tool maintenance that wooden boats command. This ultimate DIY project will continue well past launch, when they will travel and learn to cruise aboard the boat that they've built. We swapped our composite propeller for a bronze 3 blade prop given to us by a fellow cruiser. And we show you how to remove and install a propeller on a sailboat. Thanks Lee for the prop and Scott for the tool rem over. The upgrades keep going as our AGM batteries died. So we decided to upgrade to Lithium batteries and took the DIY route with EVE cells. We spent less than US$1000 for a total of 280Ah. Our depth sounder also stopped working so we decided to replace it with the Hawkeye 2BX, a cheap alternative to the fancier boat designs. Since that time, the BENETEAU brand has been synonymous with quality and innovation to all those who have taken to the water – first by the fishermen who made their livelihood from the sea and then by the legions of recreational boaters around the globe. Over the years, our commitment to innovating and embracing ideas, no matter how unconventional, has been at the forefront of who we are in order to bring you the best boat possible. BENETEAU was one of the first boatbuilders many years ago to use computer-aided design (CAD) as well as lighter, stronger composite building materials. We’ve also been at the cutting edge of using greener materials and processes to do our part in protecting the incredible world which we explore. However, all this innovation doesn’t mean we’ve turned our back on tradition. One thing we’ve discovered in over a century of boatbuilding is that new-world innovations work best with old-school craftsmanship. This combination has resulted in some of the most iconic sailboats and powerboats in the world – supremely seaworthy yachts renowned for their sense of style, luxury, and comfort along with their creative use of space and new technologies. -- Philosophy -- We’re a lot like you. We love the water in all its forms – the ocean, bays, lakes, and rivers. And we love sharing the boating lifestyle with our family and friends. This love manifests itself in every BENETEAU built in any one of our many manufacturing facilities worldwide. Every BENETEAU sailboat and powerboat on the water reflects the best efforts of the finest architects, designers, and craftsmen along with the highest quality materials and the latest innovations. When you purchase a BENETEAU, you become a valued member of our BENETEAU family. For this reason, our after-sale service is second to none as evidenced by the multitude of National Marine Manufacturers CSI Awards for Excellence in Customer Service. At the core of this outstanding service is our exceptional dealer network. Every one of our authorized BENETEAU dealers will be there for you – from choosing the right yacht to the handover and beyond. Your dealer will be your able guide when it comes to maintaining your boat properly and will help you maximize the return on your investment when it comes time to step up to another BENETEAU – and it usually does! We wouldn’t have it any other way. #Amelyacht #powertools #DIY #sailing #sailinglife #boat #sailboat #boatlife #yachtlife #boating #sailingboat #boats #sailingyacht #yachts #boatrepair #boatmaintenance #usbcharger #usbsocket #usbplug Our screen time and device usage actually increased when we moved aboard so we quickly came to the conclusion that USB plugs on a boat are a necessity. The two USB sockets we had on the boat were woefully inadequate to cope with charging our phones, tablets, kindles, GoPro's, fans and other devises that accompany a modern, mobile lifestyle and it was a battle at the nav station to charge them all. So the only solution was to install more - may more - outlets for our USB devises. But instead of running more wires through already congested conduits, I replaced the 70's style 24v bedside lights with car 24v USB plugs and here's the maintenance blog how we did it! If you're a professional, expert or even an old salty sea dog with some good advice on anything USB or USB installations on a sailboat, then please leave any constructive criticism, insight and advice in the comments below the videos. Kiran Jay Haslam, Chief Marketing Officer at Princess Yachts, reports for Ocean Media at the 2021 Cannes Yachting Festival. "Those who know me well, are familiar with my joking description of the marine industry as “a bunch of people drinking with a boating problem.” Jokes aside, what I really mean is, we tend to have a good time. A lot. In fact, when dealing with the world of boats, you tend to have to be consistently operating at a level of “peak elation” or happiness, simply to engage with clients, the products, insurers, authorities, crew, manufacturers, maintenance, and sales teams. It’s a big list of people, and they are all congregating here in Cannes this week. It has been a bizarre two years since we were last here. Our industry has always leaned on boat shows, like an old set of school nurse crutches. Nearly everyone in the industry feared missing out on a single show, so we set ourselves up for the circus. Run the show, pack it all up, move along and do our very own take on Groundhog Day over 40 times a year, across marinas and exhibition centres all over the world." Finally, inspection day arrived, but in doing routine maintenance, while Wahine is out of the water, I discovered a two-year-old repair needed to be done again, and then one thing led to another. It seems that a lightning strike is to blame and I am needing to inspect the keel bolts to ensure there is no rust. There is also some concern that the keel itself is loose. I am gutted as I was to set sail for Fukuoka the day after the inspection and continue my training voyage around Japan. Instead, I am forced to leave Wahine . . . but there may be a silver lining! Replacing a Jeep Wrangler 2.5L Oil Pan Gasket isn't that hard, and will only take a few hours. The hardest part of installing a pan gasket is probably the cleanup on the pan and clean the Jeep 2.5L engine pan surface. The funniest part of this project was me watching my son do it all. FEL-PRO 2.5L Oil Pan Gasket Set: https://amzn.to/3n42Qq6 For most 4x4 Jeeps you won't have to left it or have anything impede your access to the oil pan. Make sure the undercarriage is clean on the jeep, nothing like getting dirt in your eyes or engine. Before you start the oil pan gasket replace, disconnect the battery. You will have to remove the started and if the battery is connected you will get a direct battery short. We remove the ground to the battery, also we had to drain the amp cap before starting. Removing the starter is only two bolts and some wires. Start by removing the wires off the starter. Take note of where each wire terminates, you will have to put them back on. Then you may have some struggles getting the starter out, just takes time and determination. Now on to the flywheel cover on the Jeep 2.5L. Be sure to hold on to this before you remove that last bolt, this falling on you could leave a mark. Removing the flywheel cover you will probably need a bigger wrench, these bolts are on there. In our video, you will see us struggle to remove these. Once the Jeep flywheel cover is off it's a great time to clean up behind where the flywheel is. Taking off the pan you are going to find that the bolts are easy to remove, well they are only torqued down to a max of 11 ft-lb. Make sure that when removing the oil pan bolts to know where they go back for installation. Once all the bolts are out the oil pan and oil pan strap on the back may fall down so be ready for it. If it does fall you may have to smack it on the side to break the oil pan free. With the pan off it is a great time to check for the metal in your pan. This will help you determine how much wear you have on your engine. To check for metal in the oil pan all you need is a magnet. Then stick the magnet in the bottom of the pan and hope it doesn't pick up metal. Once you are sure your Jeep 2.5L is worth repairing you must clean the surfaces. For scraping the flat surfaces, we used a gasket scraper and a razor. We don't use a wire grinder, this can scare the machined surfaces. After the surface are scraped clean, take a rag and soapy water and wipe the gasket surfaces down. This will help the gasket silicone stick. When you are ready to put the gasket in place we put a little extra silicone in the corners. The corners on most oil pan gaskets are where they tend to leak. We then applied a thin layer of silicone to the rest of the pan gasket. Too much silicone can cause issues if it squeezes out inside the engine and clogs oil passages. Now you want to stick the gasket on the engine. We put it on the pan and used the pan to hold the gasket in place as the silicone cured for 2 hours. I have put the gasket on without the oil pan and used the bolts to hold it up for two hours to cure the silicone. Both methods work, but if the gasket starts to squeeze out the back of the on, you will have to pull the oil pan off and start over. Once the silicone has cured for 2 hours, go back and tighten the oil pan up. Use a max torque of 11 ft-lbs on the oil pan bolts, they will break pretty easy if over-torqued. Then is install your Jeep flywheel cover, starter, and add oil. We waited till the next day to add oil giving our silicone the 24 hours needed to fully dry. Then it was off to the trails for my son and his friends. Mom and I get to sit at home wondering what he will break next on this Jeep YJ. 00:00 How To Replace Jeep 2.5 Oil Pan Gasket 01:50 Disconnect The Battery And Discharge Capacitor Before Auto Maintenance 02:20 How To Remove Jeep Starter 03:44 Draining Oil To Repair Pan Gasket 04:26 Remove Jeep Flywheel Cover 05:32 Remove Jeep 2.5L Oil Pan 07:14 Cleaning Gasket Surface 07:49 How To Check Engine Oil For Metal 09:38 Prepare Gasket To Be Installed 10:27 Installing Oil Pan Gasket 11:37 Install Jeep Flywheel Cover 11:55 Install Jeep Starter 12:52 Wrapup Thoughts On Oil Leak Fix With Wife 16:24 Jeep Oil Pan Leak Fix Outtakes & Bloopers Tools We Love: Milwaukee 18-Volt Drill and Impact Driver Kit: https://amzn.to/366BwxM Husky Mechanics Tool Set: https://amzn.to/3kuGUzD You can also follow: https://www.chrisdoeswhat.com/subscribe/ Support us by shopping through our Affiliate Links! Rob, Rachel, Finn, Declan, Ivan Never stop wondering, never stop wandering https://www.patreon.com/CruisingKiwis BACK STORY In 1997, after rowing at the Atlanta Olympics, Rob decided to row a tiny seven-metre plywood boat, 2500 miles from Tenerife in the Canary Islands to Barbados in the Caribbean. Kerry and two friends were attacked by a Khmer Rouge gun boat, captured, tortured and executed. www.brothernumberone.co.nz ***** Follow us in real time on Instagram and Facebook @thecruisingkiwis @finn_hamill @declan_hamill @ivanhamill #TheCruisingKiwis

We are Eileen and Brown Councill. Welcome to our channel and a glimpse into our life adventure! 2020 was a year of uncertainty and change (for all of us, right?), but we overcame the challenges and decided it was time to chase our dream, to sail around the world! Did I mention that we had very NO sailing experience? Before leaving Qingdao, China, our home of 4 years, we sold almost all of our earthly possessions and started our international search to find the right sailboat that we would call "home." After 5 months of unanticipated twists and turns, we found what we were looking for, a used Leopard 44' Catamaran located in St. Lucia. So, here begins our journey, filled with unmatched excitement and honestly, a bit of trepidation as well. We have much to learn as we travel the world on our floating home and we intend to document that journey and share it with you. We are so glad you have decided to join us, and we hope that you will find our story so compelling that it will inspire you to chase your dreams too! As a viewer, we consider you to be part of our family and look forward to getting to know you. Don't hesitate to comment on our videos and ask questions. We will do our best to answer every correspondence! All we ask is that you have patience with us as we work really hard to improve our camera/video techniques and ability to tell a story. Hopefully, you will be as BLOWN AWAY from watching, as we are in experiencing and producing our adventures! HOW CAN YOU SUPPORT US? If you wish to support our video efforts, all we ask is that you SUBSCRIBE, give a THUMBS UP, SHARE our videos with your friends, AND COMMENT! WOULD YOU LIKE TO GET TO KNOW US MORE DEEPLY? For visitor information and to watch the video Ben mentions in the intro, visit this page: https://www.acorntoarabella.com/visitor-welcome We say saloon, some say salon... we say lapstrake, some say clinker... we're not calling the whole thing off. Boat terminology can vary from region to region, sometimes by such a slight difference that it seems to be a spelling mistake, or perhaps that you've heard someone say a word they've read but have never heard out loud. In this case, both are correct. Then we've got all that land versus boat terminology. A boat aboard a bed is a berth, a portioned-out room is a cabin, a couch or seat is a settee, front is forward, back is aft. Caulking is caulking though. Carolyn shows her method for patterning, then cutting, the rolling bevel required for one of the settee supports. The same method is used for cushions, in case your boat is a little further along and you need to know it. We hadn't mentioned or showed much of the process for the anchor locker bulkhead, which is a partial bulkhead separating out the forward-most part of the forepeak—many commenters were asking, and the truth is that it was fairly close to the shape it needed to be, as it was used for the same purpose in Victoria. In future, we'll be fitting out that area with a fiberglass "tub" to catch mud and moisture after weighing anchor. Stay tuned! Carolyn says goodbye to Arabella, and shares her thoughts about the time she spent here as a professional boatbuilder in such a public setting. We're thankful for her skills, creativity, expertise, care, and teamwork. We will miss her. Happy Friday to you! These come out every week. After sailing more than 20 000 nm we decided to haul out Umadum in Carriacou (Grenada). Was it the best place for refitting a catamaran? Now we can say – NO! And you’ll see why. We expected to stay on the yard for about 3 monts, but in turned into a daymare for 6 months. So many projects have done on our performance cruising catamaran: • Fairing the hulls with 2 parts marine epoxy • Spray painting the hulls • Painting decks, cockpit, salon, toilet, one cabin • Repairing one engine • Replacing rudder bearing • Replacing standing rigging • Applying Coppercoat Antifouling • Making new storage shelves • Replacing all the thru-hull fittings • Installing in new Lavac toilet instead of not working Jabsco • Making a new mainsail cover • Making a gallery on the boom to support the mainsail • Replacing anods • Resealing all side hatches • Servicing dinghy outboard engine • And dozens other minor boatworks So you can use this list as the essential sailboat repair checklist. And everything worked in so called GMT time – GRENADA MAYBE TIME. Which means – waiting, waiting, waiting. Waiting for the boat spare parts, waiting for workers to come and work. Finally after 176 days on the boatyard in Carriacou we decided to stop rennovation of our catamaran and launch the boat. Not all painting work on the boat has been completed, but enough is enough. We were very happy with painting the hulls, but 6 months were more than enough for our painter to finish all work. So we decided that we’ll finish the rest of painting by ourselves later. Why? Becaues we wanted to start sailing again! This big news means that Cory has to sand the hull all by himself. And we have quite a list of boat projects to accomplish before launching and sailing over to the Bahamas. Luckily Green Cove Springs marina is a great spot to do the work yourself. We drill holes in the rudder and do some serious spring cleaning. If you like what you see don't forget to give us the thumbs up! #sailing #boatworks #sandingthehull ***************************************** Help the videos stay alive by becoming a patron, donating or becoming a YouTube Member. Cold Drinks and Frozen Ice cream are the Holy Grail of Off the Grid living, especially on a boat in the Caribbean. We dive into the Sea-Frost BD 50 that was in our boat when we purchased it and compare it to the Isotherm 2013-SX we are installing to replace it. We talk about the fridge problems on our sailboat and why we hope the installation of a new unit will cure our freon leaks for good. We don't claim an expert opinion on this topic, just our thoughts as we put the two units side by side. #sailboat #diy #offthegrid #refridgerator #sailing #boatlife

Nothing drives Nick mad more than a poorly maintained boat. Doubly so when the item that is poorly maintained is meant to act as a safety feature. Don't worry, we got the "bleep" machine out to drown out his rant, As skipper he also takes full responsibility! It is his duty to make sure that all systems and safety equipment are fit for purpose before leaving the dock side. However, this oversight could have proved to be dangerous. Thanks for watching! We Bought a Sailboat and FINALLY GO SAILING! l Ep.23 For those of you, who have been watching our sailing vlog from the beginning you will know we are a a sailing couple who bought a sailing boat with no experience! We have been through all the ups and downs of boat life, with brand new rigging, Raymarine navigation equipment, getting our sails on and just general sailing boat DIY! We learnt how to sail on our day skippers course in Gibraltar last year and we have finally had the moment to remember what we learnt and put our sailing knowledge to the test and learn how to sail again! Well, we are proud to say... we did it! It was the most beautiful summers day in Brighton, we got the sails out, managed some tacks, anchored off the beach for a swim and then ended the day with a BBQ on the beach! We can't imagine life gets any better than this, here's to plenty more sailing adventure and one day, who knows, sailing around the world? THANKS: A huge thank you to Mat for the incredible footage and to Jeff for being the most amazing support and guide on our sailing journey! Episode 006 As we go through a second level 4 lockdown in Aotearoa New Zealand, we take the time to reflect on our earlier sailing days when we owned Ogorogo (a Hobie 16) and Eva May (a Nova 28). Since we are not currently allowed to go sailing, we thought we would reminisce on our previous sailing and show you how beautiful our country is. We hope you enjoy it! As always, thanks for watching. Sincere thanks to Charlotte Rockstar Jones for composing and recording Te Tāiko's theme song. Please remember to subscribe, like, comment - it helps us out! #boatlife #boat #travelvlog #digitalnomad #lifestyle #sailing #travel #catamaran #hobiecat

EP 188: We anchored in front of this EXCLUSIVE ISLAND | $130,000 a night 😲 It's time to make our way back to Clarke's Court where we anchored for a while when we got to Grenada. Why are we moving that side and not a new area? Well we need to get hauled out to do some maintenance after our 7000nm Atlantic crossing. We had to try outrun the squall though. We decided to anchor by Calvingy Island. A very exclusive and expensive island for the very rich.. & guess what... we shared the same view 😉 Follow Simone's Music Channel 👇🎵 https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCyxm8ZOny1KrSrRD1tFDKTg ____________________________________________________________________ ⭐Buy some Merch: https://my-store-10551473.creator-spring.com/ ⭐Our Amazon Wish list https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/PTRALZ0SSAR2?ref_=wl_share ⭐Patreon: Support our Channel https://www.patreon.com/svladyafrica ⭐Youtube Memberships: https://www.youtube.com/c/SailingLadyAfrica/membership ⭐YOU CAN ALSO MAKE A ONE TIME DONATION BY Donating to our PayPal: www.paypal.me/svladyafrica ⭐FOLLOW OUR SOCIAL MEDIA ACCOUNTS: Our Website: https://www.sailingladyafrica.com Ricky's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/ricky_sailingladyafrica Simone's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/simone_sailingladyafrica Facebook Page: https://www.facebook.com/sailingladyafrica Twitter: https://twitter.com/svladyafrica Tik Tok: https://tiktok.com/svladyafrica ⭐Watch our videos in chronological order: https://youtu.be/mTMKpAKgPKA Camera Equipment: Camera: https://amzn.to/3p9zNnL Vlogging Camera Lens: https://amzn.to/3p9zNnL Microphone: https://amzn.to/3HF5V9p Voice Over Microphone: Dixon Condenser Microphone Ricky's Phone: https://amzn.to/3B981uD Simone's Phone: https://amzn.to/3pqGrWV Big Drone: https://amzn.to/3p1AYWt Go Pro: https://amzn.to/3NE9Reg Little Drone: https://amzn.to/44JFcm9 Small Camera: https://amzn.to/3HVqcHZ + https://amzn.to/42qtprg ⭐Music Used in This Video: 00:00: 27- Loving Caliber 10:56: Come Be With Us- JoySpring #sailingthecaribbean #exclusiveisland #lifeofabillionaire
Boat life - Tiger shark swim - Alternative ocean lifestyle Ep 119 This week sees us arrive on The Ningaloo Coast. Yes you have seen us here, when Finn arrived by surprise and this predates that by a week, but this was our baptism in to the pristine waters that line this area of Western Australia from Amhurst Point up to The Muiron Islands. We dropped the anchor in Bateman Bay a remote area only accessible by boat or 4WD. We had a few minor boat jobs to take care of with our Knipex tools before we jumped in the water for a swim with a tiger shark. Despite the tiger sharks vicious reputation we were assured that these guys are really teddy bears. What do you think? Thank you to Keith Whitaker for shark drone footage. Thank you for helping keep us afloat and supporting the creative process.
